The Apex Hard Sear was designed to enhance the performance of an already outstanding pistol. The modified geometry will not only improve the over-travel and sear reset characteristics, but will also dramatically reduce the trigger pull weight in most pistols. This sear is made from heat treated A2 tool steel for durability and long service life.

I decided to install this sear because my M&P45 came with a heavy trigger. Using a Lyman Trigger Pull Gage (Lyman #: 7832248) I got a 10 pull average of 8lbs 8.5oz. with the stock sear. It took me about 10 minutes to install this Apex sear. It was easy following the youtube install video (LAJKLHNRF04). For tools all I needed was a Glock Disassembly Tool (Glock #: GT03374) and a hammer. If you don't have the Glock tool you can use a 1/8" punch. With this sear the 10 pull average is 4lbs 10.2oz. Over-travel and reset are also improved. This sear is worth every penny. Highly recommended.

The stock trigger was so gritty and heavy on my M&P 45 that I would not shoot more than a few magazines before my finger would hurt. This sear feels like it takes the pull down to 5lbs. The break is like glass and has a much shorter reset. Also be sure to install the Apex USB if you change out your sights. The Apex striker block removes all of the grit in the pre-travel.

I heard about this product some time ago and had heard some good review concerning it. When Midway added it to the inventory, I decided to give it a shot. I am reviewing the action and the item itself. When I first received it I thought it was an empty bag. Its small but still manageable by normal hands. Install was fairly simple. I suggest you use either the Apex link or type in Apex Hard Sear install into YouTube. The hardest part for me was getting the roll pin back into place when reassembly. Now to the changes... there is a noticeable difference in trigger pull. I'd say it took about a full pound off my 45 trigger. Almost feels like my 1911's. The reset is significantly different as well. An issue people had with the M&P was the "unnoticeable" reset. Now, the reset is obvious and also shorter. It is now very noticeable. Overall Im very satisfied with this drop in part. An easy install part that you can do yourself with a little patience and attention to details. I had it done in about 5-10 minutes. Highly recommended for other M&P fans. Now off to the range!!!!!
