This stock set is an excellent way to improve the ergonomics of an SKS pattern rifle, allowing length of pull adjustment from 11-1/2” to 15”. Stock set includes a six position M4 style collapsible stock, Galil style handguard and SAW style pistol grip with trap-door storage compartment. All parts are Sec 922r compliant and come with a lifetime factory warranty.

Excellent modern stock on my yugo. Everything went together perfect and had a nice snug fit. The rail is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Be careful when mounting grips, bi-pods, etc. A little over tightening will warp the rail.

I did some research before buying. Everyone said fitting the upper piece that covers the gas block requires fitting. They were right. The stock itself dropped right in. High Quality, made in the USA too. Pistol grip screws on with a 3" wood screw into the plastic stock. Buttstock bolts on with two bolts. The upper required some sanding with my dremel tool to fit. If you don't have a sanding tool or files, you'll never get it to fit. It has bumps molded on each end, I guess for a tight fit, but it was too tight. I had to sand them down, then shorten the end by a fraction of a millimeter. Fits great now. I like the rails on top and bottom. I put a rubber ladder rail cover on the lower to be more comfortable to the hand. Much better than the cheapo folding stock I had, the old "dragon" style stocks, or the original wood.

It was not a drop in but needed some fine tuning. Have a small flat file, I had to file a bit for the handguard to fit and a bit inside the stock to get the trigger group to fit, wich actually let me fit it exactly. Also it would have been nice if the design allowed the trigger group to be removed/installed without having to remove the pistol grip. Overall I think it was a good deal. Took me about an hour.

I ordered this stock to replace a folding side stock that I did not care for. This stock fits very nice and works with the stock attached magazine or the removable magazines. I did not swap the gas tube cover since I already had a synthetic cover on mine that matched. I am very satisfied with the fit and finish of this stock. It looks to be a quality product.

This is NOT a drop in ready to run product. For the most part it's good to go. But the handguard/gas tube made a strong effort to beat me. The instructions say that you need only "tap" the pin out. I tried tapping. I tried heating it with a propane torch and tapping. I finally ended up drilling out. I wish I'd done that first, it would have saved a lot of time. Getting it together will require a file to fit it. This is not a bad thing, just be prepared. Finally once it's together, it's a pretty cool upgrade from the diminutive OEM stock. It's worth the effort, just know that there is some effort involved.

Excellent product.Im not very mechanically inclined, but would categorize installation of this product as very easy. The stock fit my Chinese SKS perfectly without any modification or filing that some have reported on similar products. I did need to file the hand guard (the piece that covers the gas tube assembly) a little to get it to fit, but the plastic is soft enough that a metal file made this extremely easy. I will note that the rear bracket on my rifle is loose enough that I was able to simply slip the old wooden hand guard off, and slip the new one in. Had I needed to remove the pin (and set and flatten the new pin with a vise as outlined in the instructions), it might have been slightly more difficult. Assembly took about 45 minutes in all. If you can disassemble your SKS for a complete cleaning, you can put this on yourself.A few notes:Others have indicated that the upper rail on the hand guard blocks the iron sights. I almost didnt buy this stock because of these comments. Turns out, its not completely true. The top rail has a groove down the center, and you can still see the full blade and circle of the front sight. It does make the rear sight slightly more difficult to acquire in your sight picture, and you do loose a bit of clear view on either side of your view. I got used to it quickly.While slightly lighter than the wooden stock, I didnt feel any appreciable difference in the kick of the rifle due to the lighter weight. The control provided by the pistol grip more than makes up for any increased rise; in my opinion. Im shooting tighter groups with this stock than with the original wooden one.I cant fit the original cleaning kit in the hole of the new stock. Not a big deal, but worth noting. On the other hand, some have reported that the stock must be drilled to accommodate the cleaning rod, which is not true. In fact, the cleaning rod, which used to jiggle around annoyingly in the wooden stock, now sits snuggly (and q

This stock really makes ...

This stock really makes your old SKS look like a modern rifle. It decreases the weight slightly and allows you to put a light on your rifle..(Which I have yet to do). Putting it together took me about 2 hrs. About 1hr 20 min was trying to get the gas tube covers swapped out. It is a MAJOR pain to remove the pin on the gas tube and took me about 10 min to even find the fat end of the pin as the pin and surrounding metal had all been milled down and looked almost the same. Youtube has some good info on the conversion, particularly the gas tube part. Other than the pin issue, which isn't really related to the stock at all, I only had some minor filing to the gas tube cover to get a good fit. Once put together I noted that it shot quite well. The adjustable stock provides for good sight picture when fully extended and you can be quickly shorten the stock for tactical manuevering. I will agree with a prior comment that the picatinny rail on the top takes a little getting used to because your iron sights are even with the rail edges and slightly lower. It would be quite easy to mistake the rail edges for your iron sights and align your shots too high.
