Product Information

The Tipped TSX features a 100-percent copper body with rings cut into the shank. A polymer tip boosts the ballistic coefficient, improves long-range ballistics and provides fast expansion. The four razor sharp cutting petals double the bullet diameter making delivering "dead right there" performance.

These revolutionary bullets from Barnes are made of 100% copper and contain no lead. Barnes recommends initially seating bullets 0.050" off the lands. Best accuracy will be found from 0.030" to 0.070" depending on the rifle. This is not loaded ammunition.

After I mounted my Zeiss 4.5-14x on my Sako Wolf Laminated Stainless I went for a White Tail deer but a solitaire javalina appeared in the scene at 400 meters and I decided to take it just to test the new rifle, the scope and the Barnes 160 grain and, and, and, WOOWWW,,, BULLS EYE at 400 meters.... LOVE THIS BULLET

Used IMR 4064 in a 338 win mag Rem 700 for excellent accuracy and got great results. This load works very well for deer and I'll see about elk this fall! Super accurate bullet.

First 5 shot group at 100 ...

First 5 shot group at 100 yards out of a Remington 700 BDL SS in .338 Win mag was less than 1 inch. The gun is a great shooter, but I was amazed. Further groups proved this is a great bullet.

1.25" five shot group @100 yards in Howa .338 Winchester Mag & Varget--- Chronographed at 3000FPS---can push them up to 3250FPS but groups opened up a bit--Very Nice!

I have now used this 160gr Barnes TTSX in my Kimber .338 Federal Montana for three years. It sports a Leupold 2.5-8x36 VX-3 with the B&C reticle, making the total weight 5 lbs, 11 ozs empty. Rifle is very forgiving and groups most bullets well, but the 160 TTSX is it's best. can approach 2900fps in the 22" barrel provided by Kimber.100yrd groups usually tear out the 1" bull in ten shots and 300 yrd groups tend to be 3.5" and land almost exactly where the 300 yard hash mark in the scope is, as long as you follow directions that come with the scope. One shot kills on antelope and deer have now become norm out to 300 yrds, and two years ago I had the chance at a 550 lbs Elk cow at 350 yrds. No way to get closer, so I held half way between the 300 and 400 yard hash mark in the scope. On the first shot, saw the cow take the hit , but she did not go down. Second shot, another hit, but no immediate reaction. Third shoot and finally she was stumbling and went down in a matter of yards. Upon recovery we found that all three bullets had landed within 6" of each other and all where pass throughs even after two slammed into the shoulder. She would have died with just one shot, but I wanted to be sure. I have also shot a Moose from frt quarter to rear flank and still did not recover a bullet. If you have a .338 Federal and you need a light bullet to round at your selection, try these and see if they will work, I still have not recovered one.

love these bullets 100 yards first 3 shots in same hole 1 in group at 500 yards using Varget rifle is a Thompson center encore my buddy just got the 150 grain for his 7mm Rem mag he also shot first 3 bullets in the same hole at a hundred yards cant wait to shoot a mule deer to see how they do on the kill

Took first hog with this bullet in Tikka T3 338 Fed, ran 10 yards then dropped dead. 1 inch MOA with first batch of hand loads. Great all around bullet.

I currently use this bullet in a custom 340 Weatherby that delivers impressive groups with this bullet. I have been able to produce repeatable sub-1" groups at 300 yards and sub-3" at 500 yards. Bullets recovered from deer have had greater than 95% weight retention. While I have only shot through 3 boxes of bullets, I would recommend these for someone looking for excellent penetration and performance.

This bullet, 338 Barnes TSX, tipped, 160 gr. was purchased for use in two rifles. The 338 Federal loved it, groups inside minute of angle were there from the first group, .69 inches at 100 yards. In the 338-06 they were also very accurate, but required a lot more finesse in the loads.1 1/2 inches at 100 yards. I will be using them this fall for hunting pronghorn thru moose.

I've spent years trying to work up various loads for my 338-378 Weatherby mag. The best I've been able to do are repeatable 1" groups at 100 yards. I reloaded the 160 gr tipped TSX 5 different ways and the worst group shot 1.5" at 100 yards. I have 3 different loads for this bullet and all shoot well under 0.3 inches at 100 yards and well under 0.5 MOA at 600 yards. The velocity in all loads is between 3600 and 3750 fps. I have never seen a bullet shoot like these. They are simply awesome. My factory 338 378 Weatherby mag should not be able to shoot groups like these. In fact I have 3 different factory Weatherby 338 378 Weatherby mags and they all shoot the bullet the same. Awesome product.
