Although the plug would fit into the grip on both the standard A2 grip and the Hogue grip, it would fall out once the rifle starts firing. If you want a grip that has storage, buy one that is designed that way because this will not keep your stored items secured. If you just want to plug up the hole on the bottom of the grip this will work, but you'll have to glue it in place.

Useless... but workable

The ERGO plug does not stay in the ERGO brand grip. A couple of wraps on the side of the handle and it starts to work its way out. It is possible to modify the plug for better holding power by drilling out a couple of holes in the top of the plug with a bit that's two or three sizes smaller than the case diameter of whatever cartridge you are using. Then buy inserting the rounds it would cause the plug to bulge out slightly for a firmer fit. If you are interested in this little mod then go for it.

Had the same problem as ...

Had the same problem as most others. To loose. ( Armalite SPR MOD-1) I put 4 layers of electrical tape around it & trimmed to fit. This was too much. Took off 2 layers & it's now a good tight fit. Don't know how long this will hold up but electrical tape is cheap & I have a bunch of it. Before you throw the thing away give it a try. Evidently, the grips are not all the same so start with 4 layers & back off 1 at a time until you get a tight fit that will still go in & come out OK.

Couldn't imagine a more perfect fit on my S&W MP15 or on my Bushmaster, both with A2 grip, which is what it's designed for, not custom grips or other various designs. PS it won't fit right if u put it in backwards and will easily fall out. It seems that in guns as in computers, 99% of the problem is user error, not the machine

You get what you pay for. The grip plug is a good idea, but I had problems with it staying attached to my G.I. spec grips.I suggest buying one of the grips that has a more secure storage lid at the base of the grip. That way, any items that you store in the grip will be there when you need them.

In a word: garbage. I purchased 2 plugs for M4 carbines to secure batteries. First round out caused the plugs to fall out with the batteries. Dont waste your money. Buy a handgrip that is made to secure batteries.
