I ordered this kit to rebuild the sight on my S&W 67-1 stainless .38. The old blade was dinged up. Make sure you mic the old blade and order the right kit. The S&W website has a gun parts section and Midway references the S&W part numbers in the website in addition to their own part numbers.While waiting for the part I watched Larry Potterfield's mini-course on installing this part. It was a good overview but did not go into much detail and it differs somewhat from the instructions packed with the sight. The factory recommends taking the sight off the gun before working on it. When I opened the factory-sealed package the windage nut was missing. I called and Midway sent me another complete kit, no charge, Class!Armed with the printed instructions I turned the adjustment screw CLOCKWISE as instructed until it broke in two and removed the windage nut stub, old blade and nut. I took the assembly apart with both hands inside a clear plastic bag to avoid losing the sight plunger and spring when they shot out of the old windage screw head. Only they didn't, the plunger was stuck fast and absolutely would not come out.I ordered a new plunger #853943 and spring #592537. When I got all the parts together I got back inside the bag and went to work. The first two tries using a small flat-blade screwdriver to press down on the plunger while pressing sideways on the screw head resulted in the two parts exiting their hole with vigor. They were easily retrieved. The third time was a disaster. The spring remained in the bag but I felt the plunger (this thing is TINY) brush my arm on its way out of the bag and into hyperspace. I meditated for a while and then got down on my hands and knees to perform the Hopeless Search. It was right there in plain view. The age of miracles has not passed. You should use a BIG bag, (dry cleaners, maybe?) and have your Significant Other secure the bag while you lay on hands. Good Luck! Unless you are nimbler than me you might order tw
