This Redding Decapping Die allows you to deprime and clean your cases prior to sizing. Deprimes 22 through 50 caliber cases with lengths up to 2-1/2".

This die will work for calibers listed with a case length up to 2.5"

Use rod (product number 265948) with this die to deprime 17 to 20 caliber cases

Use large die (product number 193108) for 284 to 50 caliber cases up to 3" length.

I have been using my decapper for approx. 6 years. The decapping stem is held from moving upwards through the top of the die by a C-clip inside the die body. This clip breaks with frustrating frequency. If Redding had only increased the diameter of the stem to prevent it from pushing out the top of the die the problem would never occur. Those considering a decapping die might be better served looking at the Sinclair unit.

Update to initial review. When used in a Dillon 650, this die would de-cap <75% of cases regardless of how adjusted. The problem is the flat tip of the de-cap pin which imbeds itself in primers. The primer sticks on the de-cap pin, does not fall free, and is either partially or full re-seated into the case as the pin is withdrawn. Simply rounding the point of the de-cap pin solved a very frustrating problem.

The die works, but it would be difficult for a de-cap die not to. The problem is the de-cap pin & rod are an integral ass'y which must be replaced when a pin is broken. This is expensive and inconvenient.
