The polymer tip enhances accuracy and promotes devastating expansion. It also increases the ballistic coefficient and stabilizes the bullet in flight. Dialing in my 223 (Bushmaster XM15, stainless medium barrel). Out of about 20 different rounds this is proven to be the most accurate. Groups at 200 under 3/4 MOA. Runs the cleanest too. Ammo of choice. Praire dogs don't stand a chance.

shoots well out of mini 14 target. Just a little too pricey for me. other brand of 40 grain bullets perform as well but cost half as much.

Best of the tests

Started at 62 grains and worked my way down. Gun is Bushmaster X15 Varmint. Once I found this to run thru my 24" midweight SS barrell I stopped. 3/4 MOA groups or better. Cleans up better than the elcheapo, too.

This is now my standard round.

I got .360 accuracy with this ammo, on a Rem 700 1-12 twist 24" barrel at 100yrds. Makes small clover leafs and one hole patterns.

I have tried 5 different kinds of Hornady ammo through my Remington Varmint 26" Stainless Bull with 1:12 Twist, Choate benchrest stock, and Nikon Monarch 32X. Well, this is the best, by far! I went through 40 rds at 100, 200, and 300 yds. All of my 3 shot groups ranged from 1/4 to one inch, with even a few groups at 300 yds around 3/4 inch. Enough said!!!

Shooting this out of a Ruger target mini 14 with stabilizer dialed up, and Nikon bdc scope shot at least a dozen, 3 shot, 1/2 groups at 100 yards. I actually out grouped my DPMS .920 16" A-15 and a 24" Dpms .920 A-15, .223 target rifles with the same ammo which are both free floated. If you want the best without reloading look no further than hornady!

I get 1/4 moa with this ammo. At 300 yards groundhogs have a baseball size entrance wound with no exit. A one shot varmint stopper.
