The Konus M-30 Tactical Rifle Scope has all the features of much more expensive rifle scopes. It is an ideal choice for a number of applications from tactical to hunting. Features include a glass etched reticle with red or Ultra Blue illumination for dark targets, fully multi-coated hi-def optics and a 30mm tube. Illumination is adjustable via a side illuminator switch while 1/2 MOA adjustments are made with the convenient finger adjustable turrets. Konus M-30 Rifle Scopes are covered by the Konus Limited Lifetime Warranty. This scope comes with Konus' new illumination system and is powered by a CR2032 3V battery..

I purchased this optic a while back and was a bit tepid due to some of the early reviews but decided to give it a shot anyways. Well, months later and hundreds of rounds downrange, I couldn't be more happy. For what you get at its price point it's quite good. Glass indeed is good and it feels solid and well put together. I think some of the more negative reviews are due more to not understanding the limitations of 1-4 power scopes. The fish eye/distort thing seems to be in all 1-4 scopes on 1 power to one extent or another and it is very noticable on this optic on 1 power. At 1.5x that distortion is gone but it is still very usable on 1 power. You still hit what you're aiming at. If you're wanting a low power scope that can also in a pinch be used as a close in sight this optic should make you smile. If you want a variable power dot scope this is not for you. I don't think that even exsists. Although I love this optic I gave it 4 stars due to the center dot not quite lighting up evenly. It's totally usable but slightly annoying.

I also purchased this scope based on the reviews. When I first recieved it, I took it out to look through at some distance and found the glass to be somewhat distorted but decided to mount it up. That was mistake #1. Trust your instincts. This scope has been terrible. It would not stay zeroed, the glass is very out of focus anywhere outside of 30 percent of center, the adjustments are anywhere from 0 to 2 min per click depending on their mood, the focus changes when going from 1 to 4 power and the ring that is supposed to lock the focus comes loose after each shot. Sent it back to Konus and asked for a refund but they sent me a new one which I'll sell for a loss and say good ridence.

I bought two of these units based on overall good ratings and reviews, it was a mistake. The crosshairs on the first M-30 1-4 I mounted walked off center after 42 rounds of 7.62x39. I mounted the second identical scope on the same gun and its reticle walked to nearly 10 O'clock and 1 O'clock positions after just 85 rounds. The clicks were audible and tactile... but that does not matter if you can't count on the reticle to be in the right place, glass was OK.

This scope is robust and appears to be well made. The target turrets work well and it holds its zero. On the downside the optics are not that good. The image is fuzzy around the edges. I have cheap Tasco and Bushnells that are clearer.

Purchased this scope from Midway 9/09 and mounted it on a DPMS LR308 AP4 rifle using Burris Xtreme Tactical extra high 30mm rings (also from Midway) which put the scope at the perfect height and cheekweld. The previous optic on this rifle was a Aimpoint Comp C3 which worked well but I wanted a optic that would give me an illuminated dot reticle along with magnification if needed. I'm a geezer and my eyes, along with a lot of other things, ain't what they used to be. After about 1000 rounds of various 308 rounds and numerous dismounts and re-mounts, this scope has held it's zero and will shoot between 1 to 2 inches at 100 yards. Is this the most accurate scope I've ever had? No, but let me be frank. I didn't get this rifle for bench/target shooting. I got it to defend my family during civil disorder for whatever reason and I wanted an optic that would give me the ability to hit a man in the torso anywhere from 5 to 200 yards and do so very quickly and in any lighting condition. The Konus M30 will do all that and then some.

Crystal clear optics at ...

Crystal clear optics at any magnification. At lowest setting it is a true 1 power. I mounted it on a VEPR using an IOR Valdada rail system, this is the perfect scope for medium range shooting. A true resetable zero turret. I liked this scope so much I bought the M30 series 6.5x25-44 for a varmint rifle. I may end up replacing a couple other scopes with Konus M30 series scopes in the near future.

I recently purchased this to put on a M4-A3 AR. I was pleased with overall appearance and form of the scope. I used the Burris PEPR mount which is a perfect mount to sight over a fixed front sight. The turrets are relatively positive and lock up tight. Clarity is good and the reticle is very functional. The lighted dot is not visible until the lighting is dim enough and when so, works very well. I also use a Millett DMS and while very comparable, the main difference to me is which reticle style you prefer. Durability and zero retention are yet to be determined.

This scope is a "good" scope for the money. The down side is: the click values are suppsoed to be 1/2". They are close but it shoud take 16 clicks to go 8 MOA. It takes 20. The markings on the turrets would lead on to belive they are 1/4 MOA click because there are 4 clicks between the numbers 0,1,2,3 etc. That may not be important to most but it is to me. The clicks are solid but the turrets are extremely stiff. The center DOT covers about 8 MOA @ 1x and 2 MOA @4x. Thats 8" and 2" respectivley at 100 yards. That's a lot of dot! Not good for percision but then it is very good for speed. The dot lights up red OR blue by turning the light knob one direction or the other. Thats a nice feature. I only gave it 3 stars because when I ordered it, it was supposed to have a level bubble, 4" sunshade and lockable turret knobs. It has none of those. But it does have flip lense covers that I did not expect. Knous' web site was equally misleading. Their production and advertising staff need to coordinate better. I'll keep the scope but would have been happier with the version as advertised instead what was sent.
