This is a good case, but more foam lining would make it even better. A virtually identical case, using thicker and denser foam, is used by the Civilian Marksmanship Program to ship all M1 rifles it sells. Use of this thicker foam in the retail version would answer any questions about rifles shifting. Thanks to Midway for shipping this bulky item quickly and at reasonable cost.

I was happy with this case during my trips to the local range preparing for my Wyoming prairie dog trip. However when I arrived in Wyoming and unpacked my rifle I discovered the rifle and foam padding had shifted inside the case destroying the windage turret on my Nikon Buckmaster scope. This case needs thicker padding or internal tie downs like the ones on the double gun case. My brother shipped his guns in Plano's double case and they were fine. This is a good case for going to and from the range. DO NOT use it for airlines or shipping.

Foam will not keep rifle ...

Foam will not keep rifle from moving around. The case interlocks restrict the type of rifle. I noticed case cracked after first use at the range. I don't know if it was done shipping but it seems very flimsy. Will not buy another Plano product.

This case holds my rifle, ...

This case holds my rifle, and has space for the bolt knob, scope, and bipod. The foam interior holds the rifle in place remarkably well. No weight shifts around inside, so the rifle stays wherever you put it. It locks up nice and tight, it has holes for additional pad-locks, and it's airline approved for if you ever want to transport it. I don't hunt with this gun, so it only goes back and forth to the range, and this case ensures that my scope doesn't get bounced around. This case saves ammo by keeping a solid zero, and increases how much I enjoy my time at the range. Extremely good dollar-value case.

I have used many forms Plano products for many years and have had been impressed by the quality of their durability and structure. From tackles boxes, to tool boxes, and now to this gun case...this company is top notch! The Pro-Max cases are no exception. This product is one of the better gun cases on the market, especially when you take into account the price. For under $30, you get a gun case that is rugged enough to stand up to some beatings, and still protect your valuables. I have an Browning 30-06 with a 40mm Leupold scope that fits perfectly in this case. The case is a little longer that some cases on the market, but it works well for me to put things like extra magazines, a box of ammunition, and a cleaning rag within the box. One of the greatest attributes of this case is the PillarLock system that adds a great deal of structural integrity to the center of the case where is it most susceptible flex, and sometimes collapse. The four locking clasps are far better than the cases that have three as this case holds my rifle well in place. I would highly recommend this case to ANYONE who is looking for a case that will stand up to some "abuse" while still protecting your valued firearms for many years. I will definitely buy another Plano case as my gun collection increases! ~Jared J.

I bought this case for a quick fix and ended up being pleasently suprised, It's tough, lockable and hold any gun I put in it securly. For the money you can't beat this Case, I plan on buying yet another.
