Overall the Barrel looks ...

Overall the Barrel looks good. I like that it's Stainless Steel, yet blackened to not reflect light. But be aware that "Ready to Install" is a little misleading. I had to order a chamber Reamer, because it won't go into battery. A call to Olympic informed me that unless it's chrome lined, they leave the headspace short on all their barrels. I found the problem with Chamber Go/NoGo gages; which you'd also need in order to get this barrel ready to use. I haven't fired it yet, as I'm waiting for the reamer to arrive.

This is my second Olympic ...

This is my second Olympic barrel, so was a bit disappointed with; a.) handguard cap rotating freely, b.) A1 front sight post half-way off & not lubed. Didn't return as I was going to free float; mate to a railed A4 upper, and will therefore replace the front sight post with a higher A2 front sight post. I use my rifles and the black oxide scratches easily. But it shoots, so I am still satisfied, and will eat cheap Wolf Performance.

Great barrel. It is ...

Great barrel. It is stainless steel, but has been parkerized black. Great for folks who like the looks of black barrels on black rifles, but SS underneath for those who like a little more accuracy and less cleaning time.The only issue was a light spot of the parkerizing on the bottom of the barrel about the size of a dime, that's hidden under the handguard anyway, but in no way affects the barrel at all and is still parkerized so I don't expect any issues with corrosion. The spot is just a little lighter than the rest of the barrel.M4 feed ramps on the barrel extension is also nice. Overall great barrel!!!!

This is a true M4 barrel ...

This is a true M4 barrel with deep cut M4 feed ramps and lightweight contours. I had to file down the inside of my upper receiver to match the M4 feed ramps of the barrel extension which only took 15 min. to do. I was very impressed with the accuracy of this stainless steel barrel. It's capable of sub MOA using just my iron sights. The only thing I didn't like was the A2 front sight workmanship on it. This is an excellent barrel for the money. AR-5barrels.com has technical photos of how an M4 feed ramp looks compared to the standard.
