Replace the factory aluminum grip frame with this attractive solid brass frame from Qualite. The added weight of the brass frame provides a perfect balance to the Ruger single action revolver. Frame is slightly oversize so it can be fitted precisely. Fits Ruger Blackhawks, Vaqueros and Single Sixes.

A good product, though not for those in a hurry. I spent about 15 hours fitting it to my pistol. Fit is fine where it matters most, the part touching the frame. I just had to file the sides to be flush with the frame on the sides. Looks great, well worth the effort.

Great product, but a lot of work. Be prepared to do extensive filing but once you're done it'll be worth it. One tip: be sure to file out the hammer well, it is oversized and unless it is enlarged the hammer will not be able to retract to full cock. I also round butted mine and drilled out several holes to reduce the weight, which is considerable. All in all a great product if you have the time to utilize it.

4 stars would have been 5 except for the following problems: 1: Cylinder latch spring plunger hole had to be relocated (filled and re-drilled). 2: Frame mount screws holes were very slightly off and had to be very slightly enlarged. 3: Casting was rough in certain areas and took considerable work to polish out. Also note that the frame is significantly oversize, which is good because then you can match it to the gun frame. However, standard grips do not fit. They mention that Ajax grips fit the best but all of my samples were significantly too small. It didn't matter to me because I made my own grips from figured walnut, but unless you can make your own grips you will be grinding and polishing the backstrap. The frame is also quite heavy as there is a lot of brass in the casting. I will be milling away some of it to reduce weight. But if you don't have a milling machine, be aware that they are quite heavy. They look GREAT when they are finished though and I would still buy another one if necessary.
