The 8X42 Power Leupold Pinnacle Binoculars are a very good value for the money. I gave these binoculars 4 stars because there are better binoculars on available-at double to triple the cost. I spent a week in Yosemite National Park hiking with the pinnacles and at least two full weeks in the past month hunting. These binoculars are easy on the eyes for long periods of times even with glasses. They offer a clear, high contrast picture in daylight and offer a significant improvement over both eyes and my rifle scope at dawn and dusk. They are easy to hold steady under most conditions and focus easily. Our weather this fall was very mild so I haven't tested them out in the cold for fogging, but they have not fogged up in rainy conditions. They work great for hunting. The strap sent makes it comfortable to carry around your neck for long periods of time. I wasn't expecting a Leica when I bought the Pinnacles, but I am happy with my purchase.

I ordered these at the start of the '03 season in Georgia. Clarity is excellent, they're fairly light compared to my Leica Trinovid's and low light performance is very close to them also. For the thicker woods of the southeastern states I say they're great. They perform just as well in the open country of Montana too.
