Just installed the base on my old 336C and it was easy and took a whole five minutes to install rings and scope. Solid and ready to be sighted in. A very good product.

I have used this base on my 336 and 444P for years, without issue. They are rock solid and dependable. You could spend a whole lot more if you want, but why? I personally don't require a whole lot out of my lever guns. Simple 75 yard zeros and a freezer full of venison, year after year, suit me just fine!

I put this base on an 1895 guide gun 45-70. Unless one has a liking for extended eye relief optics, I can't possibly see any other base being as functional. It's hard for me to conceive that I'm the first review for this base on this gun but whatever. Using Burris super low Z-rings with this base keeps the scope lower than any set-up I can think of and strong enough to handle my stupid hot loads that I'll never probably never need. The scope I recommend is a FX 2.5x 20mm Leupold. Other friends who have tried other bases and ring always have the scope sitting so high that proper stock/cheek weld is never possible.
