This is a great sight. It is fast on target and easy to pick up. I have read the reviews and see A LOT of people talking about how hard they are to sight in!! Not true. If you try to sight them in at 200 yds maybe, but to get the sight on target fast, shoot at about 25 yds and zero the center dot on top of your front sight. My M4 was sighted in with 3 rounds and has not moved even after being dropped a couple times. Then once sighted in move your range back to what you want and re-shoot. All you should need is elevation adjust. This will help solve the "a lot of ammo" issues.

I have 3 of these and I put two of them on a S&W 610- 10-MM-Mag Wild cat, put on mount and put the scope on and it shot point of aim out of the box. Have never had a problem with any of them, they are a bit hard to get sighted in at first, but when you get it down, it a synch. If not in the war I would choose this scope over the competition. I don't wear glasses because I see a blur, rate it a 5.

Sight is hard to zero in, as windage and horizontal adjustments are not uniform, but once you get it there, it is DEAD ON, no matter who is firing the weapon! I am using a 1895Gs Marlin .45-70 with Hornady LeverEvolution ammo 325 grain bullets, and they are absolutely UNIFORM, round after round (120 so far, and they all shoot exactly the same)....this sight is incredible! Easy to acquire the target both eyes open, great field of view and dead on every time. (3 inch groups at 100 yards off hand) NO battery problems at all so far.

I purchased this sight and mounted it on my Springfield Socom 16. I was extremely pleased when I first used it. It was very easy to sight in with a nickel to turn the low profile adjusting screws on the side. Once sighted it was easy to acquire the target (even with two eyes open) and was very accurate at 50 to 100 yards (range did not allow for further distance). The only problem with relations to the Socom 16 rail which is mounted directly on the barrel is that the mount gets extremely hot after about 75 to 100 rounds. The holosight becomes very hot and starts to fail. The dot fades in and out, the glass starts to steam up internally and the batteries become so hot that I fear for an explosion. I rated it with five stars for its performance but do not recommend it for the Springfield Socom 16 or any other firearm in which it will be in contact with the heat from the barrel. Other option is to purchase a standard mounting rail that is attached over the receiver thus avoiding the excessive heat from the barrel.

This is truly an excellent unit. The dual reticle (small dot surrounded by a large flared circle) is extremely fast acquisition and very, very accurate. Use is very simple, press one button for on, press two buttons for off. If I have one negative, this is a big unit. I purchased the smaller N cell style of Holosight and it's still big. It is just about the biggest sight one could use on a pistol and get away with it. At around 9 ounces it's also heavy. However if you are shooting a high recoil pistol the weight isn't bad as it sucks up a bit of the recoil.

Excellent sight, very durable. Have had it mounted on Taurus Raging Bull 8 3/8" 454 Casull for several years and thousands of rounds, it holds its zero consistently.

Used on 500 S&W. I have been very pleased this scope will hold up to the recoil. I love it. Good product, fast on wild hogs.

Even though it took a long and tough time sighting it in it really did what I thought it would do .I have it on a custom AR that I built and it did its job.

Used this scope on a hand gun for deer this year. The Holosight 2 performed excellent. Great for low light. Great for when you need both eyes open. Very fast target acquisition. Does not have the parallax error found with red dot scopes. This is an ideal sight for hand gun hunting. Only bad point was inconsistent increments on adjustment.

I tried the Holosight II to allow me to continue pistol shooting with OLD EYES. It really restores one's ability to do precision shooting. The first one went on my Beretta 92SBF and I was so pleased I got another for my Colt Government Series 70.

Using a Bushnell Bore Sighter, it was easy to set up, other than the windage screw moved opposite to the indicator....the "right" arrow moved the dot to the LEFT....interesting....seemed to be plenty of adjustment to move it around on a Marlin 1895Gs .45-70.....now I will go try a few live rounds and see how it does with recoil etc. The ring is good and bright with great adjustment for brightness, and the on/off feature seems to work well.

I'd have given this unit 5 stars but mine uses the somewhat rare & expensive type N batteries. Otherwise the Holosight is an excellent addition to my M4 rifle. After a little zero-chasing I got it sighted in and now I'm thrilled with it. My target acquisition time has halved. The Holosight housing is metal and might be a bit on the heavy side for a handgun. The reticle seemed blurry at first but I then realized the brightness needed to be turned down while indoors. The two button on/off brightness control is very easy to operate. Outside, when first turned on, the brightness is at about midpoint and had to be turned up a bit in direct sunlight. I can't say what is best for a handgun, but for a long gun, try to get the Holosight that takes AA batteries.

I have two Holosight 2's, both are mounted on AR variants. As some of the other reviews have noted I also found the targeting adjustment somewhat difficult; I spent time chasing the POI around. However, it might well be due to the appearance of a red 1 MOA dot on paper 50 & 100 yards away at zero magnification in daylight. Once sighted-in the Holosight is great. You can easily shoot with both eyes open which is great for plinking and fast, small game. The Holosight also allows wide latitude with eye alignment to the device, It is just not at all critical as with standard scopes. I also have one of the "Military" EOTech 552 sights upon which the Bushnell Holosight is based. The Holosight is about 2/3 the price with nearly the same features.

Due to aging eyesight I put it on my Browning Buckmark 22. target pistol and my Glock 34. The results were very good...1 inch groups with the 22. Be ready to spend some time and ammo sighting in. But that`s half the fun.

Excellent sight lines but too large for me, mounted on my target pistols. Placed it on my AR and its out-standing, once you get it sighted in. Be prepared to take the time to expend mucho ammo.

Extremely fast aquisition. Sighting in was very difficult as the adjustments are not presice at all. I had to chase the point of impact (POI) as sometimes one click would not move POI at all and other times one click would change POI several inches. Once sighted in, it does exactly what it should.

I have used this product for over a year now. It seems that everytime I get a chance to use this product, the batteries were dead. I thought I forgot to turn the device off everytime. It turns out that the auto shut off does not work. I also find that the batteries drained even if the device is left off. I did some research on the net and many owners have complained of this problem.

At any cost this is a real rip-off. I have owned for a year. The batteries have been dead every time I tried to use. Than it just started burning up batteries within a minute after being turned on. Shipped back to Bushnell with check and insured. Bushnell promptly sent it back just like I sent it to them. I called and was told to buy more batteries, I did and it promptly killed them. Called Bushnell again and was told to include what the problem was and send in again. There was nothing I could add to the first list of problems so I sent it back again with some added comments. This is where it stands, don't know if they will fix it or not.

I purchased this item partly based on lots of positive feedback on the web for this product. Unfortunately my experience has been far different from others. No complaints about Midway as they have handled the return of this item (twice) with zero hassle. But, I have now twice received this product only to find the holographic image to be very grainy and out of focus. My $50 BSA (also from Midway) shows a much crisper image. I can understand a defective product from time to time, but not two in a row. At this price I expect better quality control from Bushnell.
