Really an excellent value and a great fit. Exactly like the Springfield Armory piece but at a fraction of the price. The finish is a little strange but a couple of coats of gun oil and all is well.

The mounting bracket is well made and finished. The only problems I had were that the dovetail portion of the stripper clip piece required some rework to fit properly and the front mounting knob/screw was too long and prevented the bolt from operating. Both items easily correctable and the price was very reasonable.

Very good product, especially considering the cost difference versus the Springfield mount. "Gunsmithing" consisted of about 1 hour of sanding on the part which slides into the stripper clip unit to get a good fit which I was willing to do to save $100. Finish was fine and the instructions were OK. Please note that you'll need a very small punch to drive a pin out of the stripper clip guide. Other than that, all you'll need is some sandpaper, a rubber mallet and maybe some loctite. Overall, a great product for the price.

Heavy duty construction. front hole and horizontal groove lined up fine. took a little time fitting dovetail to slot, but no major work needed. Finish is good. Mount is fully adjustable, takes a little time to get it parallel to barrel. I was able to use the iron sights under it, out to 300yds, at least. seems like it should hold up.

Just bought my M1A Loaded model. Regarding the mount, the steel in the screws is very soft, the holes do not line up, had to do quite a bit of fitting on the dovetail piece. The instructions say to line up the back hole first but this does not work, you must line up the front hole first. After looking at other reviews, maybe I got a bad one, it sometimes happens.

The instructions stated that some fitting was required. I spent some time shaping the dove tailed mount to get it to fit. I had hoped that the mount would have been easier to install.

What a peice of "CRAP" Spend the extra cash on a better mount. First off the screws might of well been made of lead, the metal is almost that soft. The front sight screw stripped right away even when being careful after reading other post on this mount, and when you get the srew in it's too long for the bolt to operate properly, it needs to be ground down some. The stripper clip replacement piece is not cut right so you have to grind it with a dremel tool to make it fit, then the rear screw that holds the scope against the rifle well the hole that feeds through the scope is twice the size it should be so if you hit the scope or mount with any force it will lose zero, what a hunk of junk. Don't waste your money on this one buy a better product, if I was John Masen I would be embarassed to have my name on this.

After spending two hours sanding down the block that replaces the stripper clip guide, because they didn't finish milling out the dovetail, I stripped one screw and the other one protrudes through the receiver far enough to bind the bolt. The entire thing is made of very soft steel. After much tinkering I was able to get it mounted straight and level at the same time, but then it was canted. I got the cant out but then it was pointed down about 20 degrees. If you like tinkering with guns, you can make this mount work, but I honestly believe you'd be better off spending the extra money and buying a quality product the first time.

What a disappointment! The first mount I received did not line up with the clip guide and the receiver. Not only that, the screws stripped the first time I attempted to put them in the gun. I had them replaced from the manufacturer since I could not find screws to fit my receiver. When the new screws came in they were covered in rust and had to be cleaned with a rotary tool. After I finally got the mount attached to the rifle, it leaned so far forward that I could not get my NM on paper at 25 yards. I had the mount replaced. The next mount arrived with another set of rusty screws (that also stripped) and an additional clip mount. Hoping that it was the clip mount causing the problems I removed the first one and was going to mount the new one on the gun. The new one broke in half as I was mounting it. As with the first clip mount it required too much altering and finally broke in half. The metal that showed from the clip mount was dark and felt like sand not shiny sheared metal. I was so disappointed that I decided to cut my losses, toss it in the trash, and try a different mount.

The screws stripped VERY easily. Hard to find any 12-32 machine screws to replace them and tightening anything up to stay put will strip them. The design is generally nice in theory, but the screws being so soft makes it unworkable in real practice.
