I bought this after a recommendation from a friend. It woks great! However, it's doesn't like the Israeli Orlite magazines so much, it pops off after bullet 26, so you have to hold it down. 20 round magazines are a little tough too, at round 18 it wants to pop off. The PMAG is the best. The standard aluminum 30 round magazines work fine too. Just be aware that not all magazines are equal. I highly recommend this as part of your range bag or on your combat gear. It unloads magazine very fast, I was surprised. I recommend that if you don't have a pouch for it, get a little snap link to clip it to your gear.

Ever stumble across something and wondered, how did I ever get along with this? or Why didn't I think of this? This is one of those things. No more sore thumbs. Fast. Simple. Almost indestructible. BUT: IT WILL WALK AWAY WHEN YOUR BUDDIES SEE IT. Buy two and keep one tucked away somewhere. Happy Sniping. Semper Fi.

Before I deployed to Iraq, my son handed me his and simply said that "it would save me some time". WOW, what an understatement. It was well worn (it already had 2 deployments) but worked flawlessly. And it was used by many in my unit as all the ammo we got was loose. I could load 10 magazines in the time it took everyone else to load 2, and no sore thumbs! I gave it back when I got back but I'll buy my own if I have to deploy again. I also want to try one of the pistol mag loaders.

Almost as good as someone else loading the mags, unload really fast, load almost as quick, rounds just drop into the mag you flip the lever and drop another in, so easy a caveman can do it. lol

I'm very fond of the UPLULA, the MagPul universal pistol magazine loader. I just tested the .223 loader and unloader and it works very well. I wasn't sure if I'd like it much because I thought it might be some hardware of dubious value, given that loading .223 magazines is a lot easier than loading pistol magazines. I found the .223 mag loader to make the loading process considerably faster, even after taking time to install the mag loader and remove it after the mag is loaded. The loading was easier and faster, but the .223 magazine loader and unloader really shines when unloading an AR mag. Flip the toggle lever and the rounds just drop out effortlessly. While .223 mags are generally easy to load, they're a big pain to unload manually. The .223 magazine loader and unloader securely attaches to both USGI metal mags as well as the newer MagPul polymer PMAGs.

MagLULA -- what's in a name? Not much, unless it happens to belong to one of the greatest inventions to benefit all thumb-kind! After loading several hundred rounds of .223 into AR15 mags by thumb "barbaric!", I was intrigued to note an invention by Butler Creek that would prove to be boon to thumbs everywhere. In the hand, it is a thing quite simple. Plastic, unthreatening, seemingly inanimate; HOWEVER, upon either unloading or loading a magazine the LULA seemingly takes flight. No more would I harm my clips, no more would I injure my thumbs! It turns a mundane and painful act into one of utter simplicity. I would wish one on anyone who loads AR15 magazines period.

I bought this because of the previous good reviews and I saw one demo'd at a gun show, so I thought I'd pick one up from Midway since it was on sale. Just tried it myself and I got to say it does make loading mags easier and stripping them WAY easier. I also like how the handle folds into the unit for storage. It's built sturdy and looks like it will last. I'll probably pick up another, one for home and one for the range bag.

This is a truly simple, practical mag loader. Loading up a couple dozen AR magazines is effortless. The best part is I can unload the rounds lightning fast, too.

Most excellent piece of equipment. Similar to my 9mm loader, in the way it makes it sooooo much easier to load magazines. I used / borrowed my first one today, loved it, got my friend to look up your site so I could buy my own.

Why 5 stars? Guys laughed when I pulled it out to reload mags. None of us had stripper clips. Within a few days it "sprouted wings" and disappeared. How's that for a product endorsement: someone "discretely borrows" it and doesn't give it back...?

There is a reason this thing gets 5 star reviews: it can hardly be improved upon! It clips solidly on any mag I've tried. Working the lever in either direction compresses the follower/round to allow another round to be inserted, so - push back, drop in a round; pull forward, drop in a round. Same thing for unloading (carrying loaded AR mags here in California is a Bad Idea!) only faster. Plus, the lever retracts into the body for a bit more tidy storage; also good for protection of the lever, I suppose.

Being in the military, I'm always looking for a faster and easier way of loading my magazines. This doesn't load as fast as the stripper clips but is easy to use plus it saves on the sore fingers from loading the old fashon way.

My friend's Lula works amazingly well for loading and unloading his AR-15 clips, and I found that it worked just as well for my Mini-14 magazine, too.

Works as advertised, saves wear and tear on your thumbs and the magazine ears. Does not load as quick as stripper clips, but is a heck of alot easier to use. Definitely worth the price paid, you'll wonder why you didn’t get one sooner. Would make a great gift for anyone who totes a M16/AR15.

This thing rocks! Loading mags is even easier than before but unloading them is where this thing really shines. The cartridges pour out as fast as you can move the toggle. A very handy AR accessory.

The LULA is just great for it's intended purpose. Stripper clips are faster to use, but how many of us buy our .223 already loaded on strippers? Get one and tell all your friends!

I don't understand all this whining about sore thumbs but this product works as advertised. Especially to unload. If you maintain multiple full mags at all times like I do you should have one of these for your rotation procedure.

This product works very well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the ProMag loader is even easier to use.

The AR-15 Mag Lula works the same way as my AK-47 Mag Lula. It won't load rounds as fast as stripper clips and a stripper clip guide, but the Lula unloads the magazines faster than anything you can find on the market. It's great for testing magazines and for speedloading (max speed you can load is about 1 rd a second depending on how fast you work).
