This was just what I was looking for. A well made low profile simple sight. I put it on an 1894. Sight was made for the 336, it does not fit well when installed on the 1894. When using the factory taps on an 1894, the sight overhangs the rear of the gun frame. I could have had a forward hole tapped in the gun but did not want to modify the "original" gun. I used a dremmel to drill the back of the sight to "fix" the problem. I drilled a receiver hole over the rear tap plug. Put some locktite on the plug threads and let it sit a turn or two high. Then I placed the sight over this "pin" I just made and secured the sight to the gun with one screw. Very tight, very good looking and no modification to the gun. Adjusting this little sight is not convenient like other peeps but this is a trade between the big bulk of those sights and this trim looking sight. I never adjust my sight anyway. I shoot it in for the bullet and charge I am using and hold high or low. I can't see past 100 yards and the adjustment under 100 yards is negligible anyway.

I use them as back up sights for Marlin 336, which has a scout scope system. I have no problems hitting the mark at 100 yards with them and yes they are a little hard to adjust, but they work well.

Bought one for my 444ss just barely able to sight it in front sight too short still shooting high. I guess I'll have to buy a taller front sight. So I guess you have to take your chances when you buy this set.

I bought this sight for an early Marlin Mod 1894 .44 Mag. Mounted in the rear scope mount holes the sight hung out past the back of the receiver. It obstructed access to the hammer. Even at the lowest setting it would need a much higher front sight than the one supplied. My rifle is drilled for a side mount peep sight so I returned this sight and ordered a Williams 5D94/39 receiver sight for a pre 2001 Mod 1894. When I get it I will review it. It is well made for the price, but on a Marlin you will not be able to sight it in.

The rear sight is hard to adjust since locking screws are inconveniently placed. You need to screw off the aperture every time you need to adjust windage. Not really a big deal, but annoying nevertheless. The front bead and the riser block are not the conventional press-in design. Instead, they are held in place by miniature hex screws. Plus: it is easy to install. Minus: the whole front sight is not sturdy at all and tends to get shaken loose by recoil after a dozen shots, no matter how much I tried to tighten the screws. Also, it sits way too high, at least on my gun (Marlin 1894, .44 mag, 20" brl).

Very cheaply made sight. Hard to adjust. Front sight sit's awkwardly high, and the base is made of soft aluminum. So if bumped it will no doubt bend or fall off. I am going to back to the factory sights.
