Kano Kroil Penetrating Oil and Bore Cleaning Solvent 8 oz Liquid

As an aircraft mechanic, I use Kroil on an every day basis. It works exactly as advertised: It gets rid of fouling; not necessarily copper as well. It is, in my opinion the best to use because it has the potential to creep into cracks that other oils cannot reach. Kroil claims down to one millionth of an inch on our aerospace grade oil, so I suspect their consumer grade is just about as good as it gets. Copper normally does not inbed that deep, but dirt and corrosion do. Kroil is arguably the best in my industry, which earns my respect in the firearms'. It seems that a little less goes a longer way. That equates to more bang for the buck.

This stuff is GREAT cut it 50/50 with Hoppe's #9 and it makes Hoppe's 100 times better. You will get stuff out of your barrel that your other cleaners missed. I have cleaned with M-Pro 7 and after using Kroil with #9 it was amazing what came out of my barrel!!! If you are going to have anything to clean your barrel this and good old #9 is what to have I am lost for words and smells just as good as old #9 to.

I have been using Kano products for some time, specifically AeroKroil aerosol. After initial carbon & fouling cleaning with common products, I will apply Kroil to the bore and allow it to dwell for 24 hours. It does an excellent job of penetrating & loosening the fouling and glaze. I no longer use corrosive ammonia based products on a stainless match grade barrel. I now spend more time shooting extremely tight groups than removing every molecule of copper from my barrel...

No other oil compares. While most oils just lubricate and prevent rust, this stuff cleans as good as some solvents. Also, its not just for guns, many other uses around the house.

Quit wasting time, just buy it and get the order over with. Trust me, you'll be happy.

Lifts lead out of rifling by the chunk, practically falls out. Bro's girlfriend says it smells like PineSol which I guess isnt too bad, but I keep it in a Ziplock baggie.

This is a good bore solvent and I use it on my competition .22 and air rifle. It takes all the lead out with no effort and puts a nice thin lubrication on the bore so it helps it from fouling with lead as quickly.

Better than WD-40. I love the way it smells Been using it for years

This stuff is TOP SHELF for cleaning out your barrel. I use it first. Four or five patches usually do the trick. Then I run some "Butch's Bore Shine". After a few patches of that, when I see all the copper's out. I finish off with one patch of Otis Gun oil. My Barrels all look show room new.

Okay, everyone now knows how great this product is on firearms and I have used it successfully on several calibers in range from .177 to .444. I also fly R/C model planes and had several engines in storage for several years before wanting to use them again. Each and everyone of them were "frozen-up" due to the castor oil in the fuel drying out and hardening. Nothing I tried would free these engines up without a complete tear down and aggressive scrubbing, and even then the main brgs had to be replaced. Enter the very liberal use of Kroil Oil and now I can completely free-up an engine without having to do a complete disassembly and bearing replacement. I would buy a 55 gal drum of the stuff if it weren't so expensive.

This is really an industrial penetrating oil and it is super in any application related to that. Very light weight, harmless to you and your firearm. Can't think of a better product for the mil surplus rifle collector/shooter. Works EXACTLY as advertised.

An excellent product. Great for the hunting and benchrest enthusiast. Does wonders on improving accuracy. It's not a solvent that will remove copper but once your bore is clean condition it with the Kroil and it keeps the bore from fouling so badly. I do not know exactly what it does to the bore but it truly improves accuracy. While at the range I will run a patch of Kroil after 5 rounds or so then dry patch. Once you have your rifle set aside not to be used then go ahead and completely clean out with a good copper solvent but run a patch of Kroil afterwards.

I've never found a more useful product for firearms. I've used it as a cleaner, a lubricant, and a lead remover in all of my guns. My .45 Colt Ruger Bisley has always had problems with leading from firing heavy cast bullet loads. Kroil works great as an initial application to remove lead. I usually let it sit in the barrel for about an hour before scrubbing the lead out in chunks. Sometimes I mix it half and half with Butch's Bore Shine. This combination leaves all of my barrels super clean. I will use this mixture for my varmint rifles after a long day of shooting. It cuts the cleaning time in half, and with very little effort.

I run a mop soaked with Kroil down the barrel and let it sit for a moment, and most of the lead is removed after running a jag through the bore a couple times. Then I soak the barrel again with the kroil soaked mop, and let it set for a while again, and repeat this step until no more lead shows up on the patch. I'm very impressed with this Kroil product.....The only drawback Kroil has though is the awful smell that seeps out of the can after opening it for the first time. I fill a small jar with Kroil that has a tight lid (empty hoppes bottle) and store it with my cleaning kit. The remaining quart of Kroil I place it in a zip-lock baggie and store it some place where it won't accidentally fall off a shelf or something and end up stinking up the whole house.

This is the good stuff. I soak the barrel of all my handguns and rifles with this stuff after shooting, let it set while I smoke a cigarette, then run a patched jag through the bore. Repeat this process one more time, then finish off with Butch's Bore Shine. Very clean barrel. Works especially well on lead in a revolver.

Best protection for a bore. Soaking cleaned parts will insure perfect lubrication. Cleans residue from the bore when using moly coated bullets by getting between the metal and the moly residue. Bad odor ,but otherwise and excellent product.

Kroil is excellent at removing lead from handgun barrels. Lead comes off on patches in visible pieces on second or third patch. I have used as follow-up cleaner on Black Powder barrels as well. No rust in bore found days after cleaning. High Power barrels squeak clean and patches remain the color of Kroil after 4 or 5 tight patches.

Kroil is just simply great as a lubricant and cleaner. My Canadian Enfield friends "put me onto this product" and I like it very much. Probably the finest lubricant and protectant I've ever found for the price.

It is the best cleaner and penetrating oil that you will ever use. Once you use it you will never buy anything else.

I use Kroil to clean my gun barrels. I first soak a patch in Kroil and run it through the barrel and let it set for a couple of minutes to loosen the brass particles. I then run a rag soaked in J B Bore cleaner through the barrel a couple of times then a clean patch and the barrel comes out clean as a whistle. Really good stuff.

I buy KROIL by the gallon, and use it on all my guns, and most everything else, too. I put some on a cleaning snake, let it soak in the barrel overnight, and then dry patch until shiny. Works great, and have never had any sign of rust or corrosion.

Theres so many different gun cleaners out there, what makes this one so special you wonder? Well, it penetrates so well that it get under the powder fouling or rust or whatever and makes it easy to rub or scrub it away. Smells rather good too. Doesn't work on copper, use Sweets for that.

It is a great penetrating oil. My Dad used it in his machine shop long before I got smart and started using it for firearms. It doesn't attract powder fouling like other oils.

Mix in equal parts with Hoppe's #9, run a soaked patch through bore, brush 20-30 times, soaked patch twice, repeat, dry patch twice you won't see a cleaner bore or a greener patch.

Just purchased two cans last week, and used some to clean my SIG P220 after shooting about 200 or more LSWC bullets, as well as about 100 or so FMJ bullets. The results: One word - OUTSTANDING! Just to make sure, I ran a patch with some Sweet's solvent to check for copper residue, but it came out clean as a whistle. I have never used a product like this before. I use a glass tube to soak the mop and pass it through a couple of times. Wait a few minutes, and pass the brush through the barrel a few times. After a two or three patches, (alternate wet-dry), the barrel should be shining like a mirror! I will try this product next on my long guns, and my revolvers. I am surprised that few gun stores carry this product, and they should.

The first thing I needed with my first bottle of Kroil was a second bottle of Kroil to get the cap off of the first bottle! Just kidding, it came off OK with a kitchen jar wrench, but man, it was on there TIGHT. After that, it's impressive; I'm expecting to use it for a lot of gun lube and cleaning applications, not just to help remove cases that get stuck in the die. I think it will have many uses beyond that. But I'll order my second bottle before the first bottle is quite used up, so that I'll have some handy to get the cap off the new bottle!

I use this to "finish" the cleaning/storage process. I think it helps reduce leading and similar fouling for the next trip to the range/etc... Even after brushing and patching with solvents, this stuff always brings out more "gunk" when I finish the cleaning with Kano Kroil.

I use this on pad locks that are exposed to weather. Keeps the insides working smoothly. I also use it on my mail box lock and the Kroil freed it right way. A year later and the lock still turns smoothly. Oh, this stuff is fantastic at cleaning guns too.

I have used this product in an industrial environment for about 40 years. Everyone to whom I have given some for their work on frozen parts, etc. has found it to be amazingly good. Great on guns, too.

I just finished using Kroil for the first time. I THOUGHT my rifles were clean until I put some of this down the bore. The test patches before I cleaned (dry) came out clean. After leaving this in the bore for 24 hours, I ran a brush through and then a patch soaked in Kroil. It came out BLACK!!! My Mauser bore is now almost mirror bright! Thanks Kroil.

Super penetrating oil. I use it for a few days before 'pulling' a barrel. It works.

I was introduced to Kroil over 25 years ago, while I was working in a diesel engine overhaul shop. Used as penetrating oil for removing frozen bolts, precombustion chambers, and exhaust manifold studs, it can't be beat. Also used it to curl valve guides, and even as a thread-cutting lube. I was unable to find it locally for several years, and when I found it at Midway, I jumped on it!! Even gave a can to my son for "household" use. I agree that it beats all other products that I have used over the past 40 years as a penetrating lube and for cleaning rusted parts, etc.

I mix 50%/50% Kroil with either Butch's Bore or Hoppes #9 solvent. That's all I need to clean the foulest barrel. It's just amazin, I no longer have to use harsh amonia based chemicals that warn you not to leave it in the barrel for more than a few minutes to avoid damage (that can't be good for your weapon) When cleaning is over, run a wet patch down the barrel, and you're good to go. Also, it smells GOOOOOOD!!

I use this product mostly to remove lead fouling from my hand guns. Just solvent patch the bore then dry it. Wet patch with kroil and let sit overnight. Push a tight dry patch through the next day and watch the lead come out in sheets. This stuff is incredible! By the way, I love the smell of it.

Best penetrating oil you can buy. I was restoring a badly rusted revolver and could not get the side plate screws out without destroying them, 10 minutes of Kroil and they broke free. Great for bore cleaning, removes copper fouling.

A must for all shooters. Standard issue to all of our Illinois State Junior Pistol Team. We use it with J-B Bore Bright. First cleaning and last cleaning are with Shooter's Choice brand bore solvent. We can achieve "spotless" bores in our Clark custom Ruger 22/45, series II, pistols with Walther barrels.

I lost a bet with a friend about how much lead he could get out of my shot gun barrel after I cleaned to the best of my ability. After I was done he dried the bore w/ a couple patches and then swiped a cotton patch soaked w/ Kroil several times up and down the barrel. then he showed me the patch... covered w/ tiny lead particles. Apparently this stuff has the ability to "wick" into microscopic areas to dislodge them. It's all I use now.

Used this in industry to loosen large bolts inside Boilers. We called it Panther pee and it works. Not being deigned originally for firearm cleaning, but it does this well. Use it on all of my firearms shotgun, rifle, and pistol I use this, to get it clean, and to protect. But quiet this is a industry secret.

I recently "inherited" a couple of Savage rifles, a .250 and a .300, not knowing how long since both were cleaned, I undertook this task. Having cleaned them as I normally do, I put them into the safe and went to bed. The next day, I remembered the can of Kroil, I went back and retrieved those guns,put the bores to the "Kroil test", and was amazed at how well I HADN'T cleaned the bores of those rifles! The first patches I'd run through the bore were absolutely black with residue that hadn't been removed. After another session of brushing the bore and subsequent patching, the bore was as shiny as a new dime! I then pulled out my other firearms, gave them all a good swabbing with Kroil, now I know all those arms are "squeaky" clean, and won't put them away after shooting them, until having their throats scrubbed with this fantastic product! Some products claim to be a "do-all", "don't look any further" product, but this stuff will amaze even those skeptics, thanks Midway for having this product available!!

Great stuff. As all other reviews stated, Kroil works as a trustworthy cleaner and penetrating lubricant. I trust it with my expensive revolvers and AR-15s. I also appreciate that I can leave a coat of Kroil in the barrel and not worry about shooting through without wiping it dry because it's very thin - so the barrel is always protected. Smells great too! If there were only one firearms care solution I could have, it would be Kroil.

I just placed an order for a new supply of KANO PENETRATING OIL. I have used this product on all of my rifles and handguns, as well as in my shop for many years. One of the reviewers said it was not to be used for actions or long time storage, I haven't used it for that, but I don't know why it wouldn't work.This oil does everything it claims to and then some. Kroil is an outstanding product-especially for cleaning and preserving firearm bores. There is, however, a caution in using Kroil. It is extremely flammable and the vapors are heavier than air and may travel along surfaces to remote ignition sources and flash back. In addition, it can be absorbed by the skin and cause all kinds of health problems. Always use gloves and avoid inhaling the vapors and never use with AMMONIA products such as various bore cleaners. With minor care, Kroil really is an amazing cleaner and lubricant.

Got turned on to Kroil from the benchrest guys. Use it ALL the time and there is not a thing out there to compare in terms of cleaning-not copper, however. Use it alone or with a mix of another favorite and be prepared to be impressed. I cannot really add to what the others have said, just try it!

I've use this Kano Kroil for YEARS on ALL my weapons and a lot of it. I don't use anything else, I don't care what others have said about the product, and YES I use it in all my actions and yes I store it in the actions as well and it has never given me one problem. I tell ya this, none of my firearms or knifes have ever had rust on them and some have been completely soaked from rain and snow on Deer, Elk, and Bear hunting trips we have been on. Neither my wife nor I have ever had a case foul out or misfire with Kroil in any action of my weapons. I use it on S/S and blued firearms and ALL the metal parts on them. It will tighten up the size of your groups you fire on paper quite a bit, although I myself run one dry patch down my barrels before firing them after storage. I run a wet patch of it down the bore at night after a hunt and a dry patch the next morning before I use it again that day. Like anything else, you should wash your hands before you eat. Never has caused me or my wife any health problems, smell doesn't bother my wife. The product is number one and that's that.

Kano Kroil works for me, I use it as a bore solvent, barrel lube and general gun oil. Rifle, pistol or shotgun no rust at all so it lasts a long time, a little goes a very long way and it wont melt your lungs[ I bought 2 cans!!]

* NOTE: This is a PENETRATING lubricant, it's not designed nor intended for use as a firearm cleaning product. That being said, Kroil is the most effective penetrating oil I've ever used, blowing WD-40, Gibbs, Free All, Liquid Wrench, and others completely out of the shop. That's from over 15 years of personal experience, having tried them head-to-head versus Kroil and other Kano Labs products. Since Kroil works so well as a penetrating oil, it does a fantastic job of getting between the metal of your bore and any fouling regardless of whether it's powder residue, corrosion, or metallic deposits. I use a wide range of Kano Labs products for various purposes and recommend them all as often and fervently as I can. A week doesn't often go by when I don't have the occasion to recommend someone pitch their cans of WD-40 for Kroil.

After firing some corrosive surplus ammo and not meticulously cleaning certain parts of my rifle, some rust had formed and nothing I used worked that well in cleaning the rust off. I had the can of Kano sitting around but never had a real need to use it until I decided to experiment with it to clean the rust off. Just as advertised on the can, it cleaned a whole lot better than CLP and scrubbing, or even household products that say they remove rust. The stuff is extremely potent though and using in a well ventilated area is a must.

Simply the best when it comes to removing crud and protecting barrels. No 5 star rating for the painful to open lid and goofy little screw-on red cap for the dropper (I live in fear of losing it, and there's no way to seal the can without it) - you can't see the little red cap and dropper in the picture.

Great product with many uses!Outstanding penetrating oil for cleaning and freeing stubborn screws and barrels. Great for removing lead deposits from my 1911 and .357 Mag. Also run a damp patch through my rifle barrels periodically during the wet and humid months of hunting season for rust prevention. Kroil leaves very light film that is safe to shoot through and does not noticeably effect bullet flight. Not to be used for action lubricant or long term storage protection though. Also advise storing in Zip-lock bag and wearing gloves while handling due to high Benzene concentration.

Product is great. Does exactly what it claims. Their can leaves a lot to be desired, however. Mine arrived with a split top seam and 1/4 of it leaked out into the box it was sent in.

Excellent product, does what it says, but if married will cause grief or possible divorce (wife filing) due to smell.
