The Walkers Game Ear II is wonderful. Enhances hearing many times over, is light and easy to use. Should have purchased a Walkers years ago.

I owned "electronic ear protectors", even the ones that "go behind the head". But muffs are hot and sweaty, especially on a prairie dog hunt. I put off trying the Walker Ear far too long. Compression works great. And the hearing boost for tired old ears is phenomenal! After trying mine, a fellow hunter bought one. Crickets! Birds! Barks! Cartridge clinking as it is put in the chamber! Sounds long absent are heard (especially with the AFT set to boost highs). The full report of the shot fired is heard, too - but without harm. Battery lasts and lasts! Downsides: buy extra earpieces - earpiece foam withers with time and use, and the "other ear" plug also withers (no replacement from Walker, so get good foam plugs for the "other ear"). Also: 15mph & up wind will "rustle" in your ear - use either a knit cap over your ears or fasten a tiny piece of gauze or foam over the mic port. TWO Walkers are very tempting, but not really needed.

This product is everything I expected. This product seems to be very well designed to hold up to everyday use. It uses standard batteries that can be found any place that hearing aid batteries are sold. I recommend it to any serious hunter or anyone hearing impaired.

Purchased for hunting, but used on the range to test. Sound amplification is excellent, sound supression of gun shots works well. Only improvement would be better ear plug than the foam one.

Excellent product for the price. It's a lot less expensive than a regular hearing aid. The tubing becomes hard & less flex able after a year. Get a molded ear insert by a hearing aid supplier & replace the foam insert

The game ear is a great product and does amplify sounds well, maybe too well. When hunting, I could hear my footsteps. I shoot a magnum gun with a compensator that amplifies the muzzle blast. The game ear worked great for the right ear. I am not happy with the ear plugs because the left ear gets hammered with the sound. A more dampening ear plug is needed.

I've been using this for about 3 years now. I couldn't be more happy. I have hearing loss from being in the Army and this really makes a difference. Amazing the sounds you can now hear while in the boonies. I replaced the foam junk with regular rubber ear plugs (carefully took a small drill bit and worked it by hand thru the rubber ear plug, fits great, not as comfotable as the foam, but lasts and much easier to insert into ear. I just bought the non-AFT for my other ear (not made in USA now, assembled in Mexico) Try not to leave your battery in them though if not used. All in all a very good product, I've even used it to watch (hear) some movies and TV. I've shot everything from 22 mag to 12 ga to 45/70 and 338 Win Mag. It cuts the noise very well. I only give 5 stars if I don't have to change a part etc (ear plug on this). Has to be perfect out of the box. Wish I could give this a 4.5 though.

I felt that the game ear would be better if the microphone were on the bottom of the unit as opposed to the top(or at least adjustable). When tree stand hunting, it picked up sounds above me quite nicely, but not very well below me. I also question the durability of the earplugs. For the money, I don’t feel that it was really worth it. If the price were lower, yes.
