Lee Auto Prime 2 Press Mounted Priming Tool

This is an excellent tool for precision seating of primers. Much better constructed and easy to use. You will have to herd the primers into the tool (I use a small Allen wrench) but this is really no problem. Very sensitive if you use a single station press and is faster than expected.

This is a great little item. I was stunned at how much quicker it is to use compared to loading the primers one at a time by hand. I found that if you round the corners on the primer tray at the feed gate that the primers don't hang up at all. As the others said you have to assist the last 5-6 primers to get them to drop down but this thing works so well it's really a moot point. A Great Product!

I used this on my Lyman Turret. This primer tool is faster to set-up than the tube primer system of Lyman. Just dump the primers on the tray and shake it a little to orient it upsidedown. Put on the cover and mount on the dispenser rail and you're ready to prime. The lyman requires you to insert primers one by one in a tube making loading longer. The lee system is convenient for used cases. I de-prime the cases using a Lee Universal decapping die, then tumble , then prime using the Auto PRime 2. I then removed the decapping pin on my sizer die and run the primed cases for loading. I find it faster and more convenient than priming downstroke. Lee has the best tools for priming IMO.

I used the Lee Auto Prime 2 this morning and put 100 primers into my brass in around 10 - 15 minutes...a breeze to set up and use...for my needs absolutely perfect. Thanks Mr. Lee!

I use the Lee Auto Prime-2 press mounted priming system. I leave it set up on one of my Lee Classic Case-Single Stage Presses and use it for priming all the two dozen cases I load. Priming your cases is one of the most important parts of your accuracy. It has to be precise and above all consistent. With this priming system setup on that press that is what you will get every time. You just adjust the die that comes with it to be precise and consistent. New cases or once fired factory cases have to have their primer pockets uniformed and the inside flash hole debured once to make sure that case fire is consistent every time. Primer pockets have to be cleaned every time you reload for correct primer seating depth, this plays a big roll in keeping your flyers down and you groups smaller. I have used a bunch of different priming tools on my reloading benches and have settled on this one. It is a breeze to use, the priming tray is easy to use also (keep it at least ½ full and you will not have to touch it) it is very consistent and accurate. Primers slide down the shoot and primer set up in the die is automatic each time you prime a case, just insert your case in the shell holder, pull your press handle til it completely stops and it is primed right every time, no guess work about it. If you have a good press set up as I do, you will probably like this priming tool. I might add automatic priming on any turret press set up won't holed a candle to the consistency and accuracy of this tool, plus you can se it and feel it before you powder the case. A big down fall to automatic loading presses, I know I have 4 of them and use none of them for rifle or pistol calibers. I use 5 lee classic cast single stages presses for all of my work.

If you liked the Auto Prime, you are going to LOVE the Auto Prime II. When your arthritis won't let you "one-hand" the original tool, this one makes it a snap. It is as fast as, or faster than AP and still give you the positive "feel" of a properly seated primer.

Excellent product. I have been using this for about 5 years and have no complaints. Set up is a breeze and so is use; screw into the top of your press like any die, push the primer ram into the shell holder groove on your ram, insert a case on top of the priming die, and pull the lever. You can feel the primer seat like no other priming tool I have used before. If you use a press with an adjustable handle, (Lee), you can set the ram stroke to just a few inches as this tool primes on the up stroke, (pushing down on handle). I have my bench set up so I can comfortably use my presses from my wheelchair. Park myself in front and prime away. I concur with others, if you have the room buy a cheap single stage press and use it exclusively for priming.(Lee challenger)

I bought this tool to pick up the slack in my RCBS hand priming tool. Great tool for CCI armory and large rifle mag primers. These primers do not seat all the way with the hand tool but the Lee press tool is incredible and consistent. Great buy for the job it does. Not as fast as a hand primer but makes up for it in great work done.

I picked one of these up when we had problems getting primers to seat properly on .44 mag rounds using my turret system press. It is a little bit of a hassle, but I set up a small single stage press on the side and now use it for ALL my priming because it does such a consistent and accurate job. It also keeps me from handling all the primers manually one at a time. Just remember, this priming tool will not work on a turret or multi stage system. You have to attach it to a single stage unit. (Get one of the cheap presses and just leave this attached to it full time).

I bought this tool as a replacement for Lee's Auto Prime hand priming tool. This tool is much sturdier; the moving parts are solid steel and it works well in my small Lee press. You do have to mechanically push the last few primers into the die with the tip of a pen, but it's easy and doesn't take much time. The "feel" is pretty good, too.

Works great. Very easy to set up. You can really "feel" if you are setting the primers at the right depth. The only problem is when you get to the last 4 or 5 primers in the tube, you have to take a pencil or something similar and push the last few primers down the tube. Overall, very good tool.

This tool needs to be redesigned. There is so much slop in the punch channel that it won't seat the primers correctly, especially small primers. The punches cant so much and are so off center, they actually crease the primers! (Possible detonation.) What is needed is to really tighten up the tolerances, long punch travel contact area, and punches with a step, for large and small primers. This tool is going back and I'm ordering the RCBS bench priming tool. It sits low, so you don't have to keep your arm raised all the time while doing large batches while seated, too!
