Sorry to see that Midway has discontinued this product. I have been using one passed onto me by my late father 9 yrs ago and love it. Sure there is some technique involved with situating it on your hand for reliable brass catching, but i haven't found another product that can more easily and simply accomplish the task of catching brass from a hand held autoloading pistol, period. The strap design could be improved upon: less abrasive material and maybe a short piece of strap that T's into the main piece at 90deg. and runs between your fingers - to keep it from rotating in your hand as the brass adds weight to it. I've seen people rig a larger rifle cather while bench resting an auto pistol or spread a sheet on the ground to catch brass - but nothing compares to this thing. I would buy a second one just to have a spare, and have friends wanting to order one. Please bring it back.

I took one of these and made some minor changes(moved the velcro strip so it would go around the trigger guard.) I then put it on my Bushmaster AR 15. By putting the velcro strip on tight, I was able to shoot 50 rounds before having to empty it. Never last a round. I am going to purchase another for my son's gun. No longer have to look, or pick up brass.

Just tried this product this morning and found it to be about 95% successful in catching brass from my Kimber Stainless Gold Match. You have to make a few small minor adjustments with the strap on your hand, but hey, it beats running all over the range to pick up the brass. The 5% that missed was due to the stiff bag that came with this product. The brass went in the catcher, but then bounced back out. Also, the ones that did miss, were blocked from flying their usual distance, and simply fell at my feet. A little creativity with the bag should take care of this problem. One more thing: When adjusting the catcher on your hand, align the catchers opening with the ejection port on your gun, with the slide in the rear locked position. If the slide is forward, "in battery", your brass will miss, as the brass is ejected from the gun approximately 1 1/2" to the rear as the slide travels back. A little better bag and I would have given this product five stars instead of four.

When I first got this product, I really didn't like it's performance. It was hard to stabilize the catcher in the hand, and I just couldn't get it to catch enough brass to justify it's usage. It was left in a box for 3 years. Then, I decided to give it another try. This time, I made sure that the strap is positioned over the knuckle of my shooting hand. I also wrapped a cloth around that part of the strap that touches my 1st knuckle because the rough texture of the velcro fabric used to scratch the skin out of my knuckle. Went shooting with my Springfield Loaded last week. The catcher cached approx. 95% of the brass. I was amazed! I found the key to using this effectively is to position the strap over your knuckle, and not over the web of your hand. Hope this helps. I'll be using this product more in the coming days.

Catcher works quite well 95% of the time for pistol right-handed shooters. For left-handed shooter's place it on the right thumb and it works 85% of the time. It works this way for my brother who is left-handed. Saves my having to play 52 pick-up to retrive my brass for reloading. The company should come out with one for lefty's.

Bought the rifle-version of this product. Worked well with semi-auto rifle and caught 95% of my pistol brass if I attached it to my wrist instead of my hand. Liked it so much that I'm buying the pistol-version too.

It catches 95% of the brass and if it does not catch the brass, it will fall at your feet. It is a great product.

Just got this in the mail. Assembled it and put 100 9mm and 50 45 ACP into it. The top tension bar came loose under recoil twice. I will ask the factory for a replacement. It is a little awkward to use but it does not interfere with shooting. For it's faults, I was still able to leave with 148 empties from the indoor range. As I reload a lot, this device helps significantly in keeping my brass in my possession. I will try the rifle model next.

Sorry to see it discontinued. I have other brass catchers that cost a lot more and don't work near as well. I always use this when shooting my 45's or 9mm pistols.

somewhat happy with this product.I find that it catches about 2/3 of the brass. I am not fond of the hand mount ,I think it could have been designed better. Overall it does save on picking up all the brass.

If your gun range has shells of every conceivable caliber all over the ground then you will probably like this. It takes a little getting used to especially when there are several rounds inside.

My son and I have found this product to be less than satisfactory for our use. This might be due to having large hands but ejected shells fall out and bounce out of the catcher easier than they go in. The frame being plastic can not be molded or shaped in the field to better catch shells, since not all shells get ejected equally. The fabric net is stiff and doesn't bend down at the far end to hold shells ejected into it. We found that we had to flip our hands between shots to keep the shells in the back of the catcher. The Velcro strap that holds it to your hand goes through your palm and is held between your hand and the pistol. If you strap it on tight it's not comfortable and it's hard to bring the mouth of the catcher up near ejection port. Great idea just needs a bit more work.

This product was very difficult to use with my 1911. I spent more time lining up the net than I did shooting. I finally got it to work with target ammo, but when I switched to hardball, the alignment was off, and I could never get it adjusted. I love Midway, but this is the only product I have bought that I truly dislike.

Waste of money. Distraction to have this thing strapped on your hand while shooting. caught maybe 1-2 of 10 rounds for Berreta and none for Springfield XD-40.
