This is the only lube i use on my guns. Clean them up with hoppe's no.9 cleaner, then apply this lube on all the parts. Never gummed up on me and keeps the rust from forming. Awsome stuff.

This is a first rate old-fashioned product whose refined quality is immediately apparent upon use; the oil is thick, completely clear (transparent), and is outstanding as a dedicated lubricant and protectant (although it does not have any fancy\advanced\new-age corrosion inhibiting additves or what not like certain other gun oils do). Additionally, it's excellent for applying to wood (stocks). This appears to be a naturally derived product with no artificial additives, and has no hazard warnings . . . this is *probably* nontoxic and not abrasive to skin. I highly recommend Tetra Gun Grease to supplement this product, as grease is more appropriate than oil for certain lubricating applications (for example, slide rails on autopistols). Obviously, this is *NOT* the best fluid for cleaning bores and other areas of your firearm exposed to fouling\dirt (as it was neither designed nor marketed for this purpose); for a cleaner\solvent, I highly recommend Kroil, CLP, and Hoppes Elite Gun Cleaner: the 1st if you're looking for something with a great degree of cleaning potency, the 2nd if you're looking for an 3-in-1 cleaning fluid (and do not want to bother with separate applications of solvent\cleaner and lubricant\preservative), and the 3rd if you want a non-toxic solvent\cleaner to complement the Hoppes Oil, respectively. It should be noted that I have yet to try Hoppe's new "Elite Gun Oil" . . . it may or may not be better than this old-fashioned product in the orange bottle.

Turns rancid and brown when storing your gun for a year or more in the safe. However, doesn't damage anything. Ok for use when you know the gun will be used soon.
