I bought this as my first thrower and couldn't be happier! Make sure you have tools to assemble it, which is easy. It is fully adjustable to throw singles and doubles. The range is 50-60 yards and has three angles from which to throw. This is an awesome thrower that is very easy to use.

Incredible! For the price and the ease, nothing beats the one-step. Got one for my dad for Father's day and we had so much fun I bought one for myself. Super easy to assemble, even easier to use. Works best in grass, as it has a tenuous grip on gravel or concrete. Definitely worth every penny!

This is a great thrower. It's portable, easy to assemble and use, and throws the clays a long way with good velocity. Its real strength is that you can shoot alone, if you wish, which can be a virtue. I have no buyer's remorse at all. This thrower is a bargain, a real pleasure to use.

See above review.----After missing main spring arrived no charge from Lyman/Trius the trap was put to use. It works like a charm and is much fun. A shooter could have someone else step on the foot launcher and the shooter could move away from the trap in an arc to simulate skeet shooting. This is a great product, much better than the type that requires an auto wheel. The right front leg tends to dig into the dirt if it is soft, requiring a reposition after a few launches. I had forgotten how hard it is to kill clays with a 28 Ga and a 410 bore. You will be very pleased with this fine, well designed product (once you figure out how to put it together).

This trap is great. I've only used it twice, but so far it is so much better. It was worth every penny. The assembly instructions are terrible, and I spent 10 years as a mechanic! The other bad thing is that it is shipped with no, none, zip, nada packing material. Luckily it was not damaged, but as this thing is made of good quality bar stock it would take a winning toss to damage it. Other thing, the main spring slaps up against the assembly, scratching the paint. Put some duct tape over where it contacts to keep the paint from getting messed up.. The function of this trap is great, and you truly can throw and shoot by yourself, so you don't need a partner. Because you load the arm under no tension, your girlfriend will never complain about her arm getting worn out from cocking the trap. I've used mine in the sandy/gravel at the local range, and it digs itself in to the ground. DO NOT USE THIS ON HARDPACK GROUND (like asphalt), it will jump around and not stay in the direction you want. It needs a soft ground, like shown in the picture. You will smile the first time you throw doubles and shoot them yourself.

This foot operated launcher is awesome. It's simple to operate, can throw up 1 or 2 clays and is easy for a shooter to operate whether shooting alone or with friends. It takes 4-5 launches to get the hang of it Actually get yourself balanced right)... The launcher does NOT need a 300lb gorilla stomping on it. It operates much better with a controlled downward pressure. Once the foot that operates reaches the release mechanism, your foot is almost flat to the ground and if you have your balance set correctly before launching, there's no need to fidget or adjust your footing, there's a split second delay for the clays to get airborne and you're sighting and prepared just as if someone else launched for you. The reload is simple. I found that even after 300 clay launches in one session, I had no discomfort in my leg... just my shoulder from the 12 gauge pounding. Clearly, there is a swinging bar that whips round to launch the clays but the design is so well made, extremely sturdy, I cannot see how you could injure yourself without being extremely stupid and standing in front of it while you try to launch the clay... which would be about as stupid as holding the shotgun the wrong way around. I did find that if you stomped on the launching lever hoping to get a faster launch etc, you're more likely to find a clay break apart. I've had more clays break with one of those stupid hand launchers. I'd highly recommend this unit for sturdiness, ease of operation and simplicity. as for the fun factor, it takes no hitch setup, no one sitting down dedicated to launching, whether shooting alone or with a friend, you can enjoy the shooting and you soon forget about the launching as its no longer a tedious chore. Excellent product.

Works great and is well made. The throw height is adjustable and the clays go far which is a plus. No need to stake it down, just move it to adjust the angle. Best feature is the foot cocking/release lever. My 13 year old son can work it easily. I researched it on the forums before I bought it and it is everything everyone said. I am very pleased with it.

Being a first time clay shooter (and a bit independent), I was looking for a chucker that would not add to what I was already doing with my hands. I also liked the fact that there is no tension when cocking the trap. VERY EASY to use!!! (And you don't have to mount it to a tire either!) Also it WILL toss your birds out quite a way. The only things that I can think of that would be nice would be the ability to put 2 clays side by side (instead of stacked) and a stake on the front left foot. But then again, if something can be thought of, it CAN be modified, right?;) If you get one, USE YOUR HEEL on the pedal, it makes a big difference! :)

This thrower is great because you don't have to cock it against spring tension as with other throwers. Its well built, and throws the clays straight and long. I've stepped the distance to be about 55 yards, slightly up hill. I've only had this thrower about 2 weeks but I'm very pleased with and use it almost every day.

This is a great product! I've used mine for several years without any trouble. You can throw AND shoot hundreds of clays without getting fatigued. Get one and you won't want to throw rock any other way!! Small folks--kids--may not be able to cock it as they don't weigh enough to force the peddle down. Like the other reviews state--this thrower is worth every penny!

I have had a One-Step for 7 years. I've used it hard, sometimes over 1000 clays a week. Parts have worn out and been quickly replaced. Last night it broke for the last time. Age and hard use got to it. I'm getting a new one tomorrow. The one I had did die, but not without a fight. They are great. If you want a thrower that works and is not hard to use, get the One-Step.

The Trius one-step is the easiest to put together. You can adjust right or left throws straight, low, medium, and high throws. I am completely satisfied with this product. It allows you to sharpen shooting skills by yourself or with friends. I highly recommend this product.

Truly awesome device - I've used mine for about 3 months and have put a couple thousand clays through it with no problem. I like to shoot alone, so this is an ideal unit. Easy to change elevation without fussing with the silly adjusting screw - just put wooden blocks under the front legs! They'll stay put for a few throws. Great machine, TERRIBLE packing.

LOVE IT!!! Bought it for my husband who is a proficient hunter/shooter - I was worried it wouldn't be what some raved! It is great! We both loved it and had a great time shooting clay pigeons - his only comment - would be nice if it was fast connects rather than screws/bolts to adjust the height - to make it faster/one handed change - but, not if it increased the price! I was soooo pleased that it was beyond worth what I paid for it. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! It does what it says it will and with quality!! Debbie & Dave from Phoenix

This is one of the best machines made. I have had mine for 4 yrs now, and works as good now as it did when new. You can put the clays side by side if.... you use some shelf rubber, that is used in tool boxes. Excellent 110%.

I've had mine for about two years now. It is excellent. It has been very durable after throwing some thousands of clays. It throws singles and doubles well, although the doubles don't fly nearly as far as the singles. Set up is easy and it's really nice to be able to throw and shoot clays by myself.

I have to rate less than 5 star. Agree with earlier review that packaging not strong. Mainspring was missing, fell out of hole in box. However toll free call next day had a replacement spring in mail from Lyman/Trius. no questions. Assembly directions leave much to be desired, no clear picture of the finished product. Seems sturdy. I'll report after actual use of the trap.
