This iron dipper is a convenient size ladle for bullet casting. The hardwood handle allows the caster to use the dipper equally well from the right or left hand. Handy for skimming and stirring metal.

Hard to beat for the price. The dipper works well for skimming dross from the melt pot. The handle stays cool and it's light weight. The stamped steel ladle is plenty strong enough for any reasonable use. It probably wouldn't tolerate a lot of prying but who would do that with a dipper?

Good item for the money. Great for skimming and fluxing. I find it most useful as a small ingot mold when I mix up various alloys. Allows me to file a flat spot on the bottom to check the BHN with the Lee hardness tester which also is a dandy product from Lee.

I only use this for 38 spl, 158 gr double cavity mold and it works great for me. I can see where it might be too small for larger caliber or heavier bullets, but for me it is just the right size. I have used this ladle for many years now and have no complaints.

This dipper works perfectly in tandem with the Lee micro-band .45acp 2 cavity moulds. It holds just enough lead to charge both cavities.

Don't understand the negative comments....use this mostly for processing wheel weights into ingots, great for that, adding flux, skimming clips and trash off the top of the melt. Have other tools for filling molds. Highly recommended

Great skimmer. Save your silverware and get one of these. If you're looking for a true ladle for pouring lead into a mould you might want to look elsewhere for any bullet larger than 22 cal.

Works Very well for Skimming. Small size makes it perfect for use in small Lead Pots like the Lee Production pot which has very little room. Have not used it to fill molds.

Its okay, haven't been able to use it for pouring lead, but its a great tool to use to skim the top of the pot when fluxing. Just too small for a 2 cavity 45acp mold.

Ladle is not much bigger than a soup spoon. It will end up being my skimmer. Laughed when I saw it, and thought of "tinker toys". It matches the Lee lead pot & ingot mold in size.

This ladle is O.K. if you are doing really small casting projects. But if you are casting a lot of large bullets or sinkers the steel gets very hot and burns the wood handle. I made 3 replacement handles for it before I finally bought a RCBS ladle, much happier now.

The ladle works, but it is very cheesy. The steel is very thin and prone to bending. A person would almost be better off using an old teaspoon with a wood handle. I use mine for skimming off slag from the surface of the molten lead. Lee makes many good products, but this is not really one of them.

Too small for use as a ladle. Handle should be bent or angled. I have 2 I have used for years and they are great at skimming the dirt and dross off of the melt.

Doesn't hold enough alloy to be useful and gets all clogged up when using it to flux and scrape the pot. I made a much more useful tool by taking an old tablespoon and an 8" piece of broom handle. Doesn't handle well when wearing welder's gloves while casting.

It's basically a stamped steel spoon. The only thing that makes it a 'ladle' are the two spout lips that are stamped into it. Ironically, those make it hard to use as a skimmer and it doesn't hold enough metal to fill both bullets of large two cavity molds. It's certainly cheap enough, but the Lyman bullet ladle is a much better tool even at 5X the price. Skip this and get a big soup spoon instead.

Small and lightweight. I have many Lee products, but this was one of the few not worth the money. I recommend a Lyman with the side-hole spout. Rob a teaspoon from the kitchen for skimming.

It's a glorified kitchen spoon with a wooden handle, and barely enough volume for anything. One use and I had ordered a Lyman ladle with an actual spout. I love Lee products for getting you what you need at the most affordable cost, but this doesn't fit the bill for anything other than small single shot moulds.

Works okay for skimming, although I can pilfer one of my wife's spoons out of the kitchen drawer for that - and being stainless steel it will probably work a whole lot better. This ladle does not work well for pouring -- even in 22 caliber molds. All the lead just runs down along the bottom of the ladle. I am getting the Lyman cast iron one for pouring. I let mine sit in the pot to stay warm since I was trying to pour with it. Charred the wood handle and the metal ring fell down the stem onto the spoon part. I love Lee tools, but not this one.

This item isn't very strong, so don't scrape too hard if you use it to clean the pot. It isn't cast, it's stamped steel. It isn't very big, so you can't really cast with it, and it cools quickly, being stamped steel.

This ladle is too tiny! Get a bigger ladle with a pour hole out the side. This thing is like a baby spoon!
