I purchased this press to load black powder cartridges because the process takes 5 dies. The Lyman turret press does a great job. The indexing is firm and sure, and the opening is high enough to handle the longest cartridges. It takes a lot of force to FL size my new 40-70 cases and the press does this easily.

I've been using the T-Mag 2 turret press for over 4 years now, having reloaded between 10,000 and 20,000 rounds, mostly handgun. I give it a 5 star rating. It's a very solid and versatile performer with excellent bench clearance, built to last a couple lifetimes at least. My only complaint is the side to side linkage slop, so therefore I use the T-Mag for handgun reloads only, reserving rifle reloading to my RCBS Rockchucker which has super tight tolerances. The T-Mag is a lot faster than a single stage for those of us who have had not the best experiences with progressive "wonder" presses and their inherent inaccuracies and slop factor. Lyman's customer service was excellent too.

I bought this press to replace a sloppy-ram cheaper brand turret press. I have been using the T-Mag II for over two years and it is solid, repeatable, provides perfect die alignment and is great to use; except for the primer system. I use the Lee Auto Prime II in the turret and it works great. I load pistol and precision rifle cartridges as well as wildcat brass forming and am very, very pleased with its' performance. All loading is done in batch mode, not progressive in the interest of accuracy. I currently have 5 turrets populated and use a deep socket on the turret bolt to easily clear the dies. I have no problems with "sloppy linkage or ram." Mine are tight and solid. Perhaps they improved the parts on later units? Overall a GREAT press that gives me room for the special dies I use in addition to the standard pistol & rifle sets. Great value, great product.

I love this press. Plain and simple. I mount a powder measure (the Lyman 55 works great), a sizing die and a seating die on it and operate it manually indexed. This cuts down substantially the amount of handling I do for each case. I have acquired several name-brand presses over the years. Including the well-known and inexpensive turret press. After using the Lyman T-Mag 2 for a few months, I have put away all the others and expect I’ll probably sell them. This is an outstanding, well-made and well-designed product.

After researching and testing Redding, RCBS, Lee, and Dillon presses the Lyman T Mag II gives the most bang for your buck. Operation is quick, smooth and precise. (add a couple drops of oil to top screw of turret every 1,000 pulls of lever as per owner's manual). This press can be adjusted for a left or right handed loader. The primer catch tray is far better than all others, after decapping over 4,000 rounds, I have only dropped 10 spent primers on the floor. The press mouth is large enough for most Magnum rifle calibers and is extremely sturdy. finish is excellent.

This piece of machinery is professional grade and every bit as good as Redding, RCBS and a lot more robust than the Lee. I do a lot of reforming and this press handles previously difficult to form cases (used to have an single stage press) like "peanuts". I still use my Lee turret press for volume pistol case reloading. But for the real big cases and all my case reforming, the Lyman is the proper tool. I doubt if anyone can find a better deal than the Lyman. The lowest price and yet quality on par with the most expensive products in its class!!

I use my TMag to reload all of my rifle rounds. It is great. I have purchased extra turrets and have one set up for each of my calibers. I don't use a progressive press to reload rifle rounds, because I want MORE control of my rifle rounds. Think about where the round is detonating. In a handgun, the weapon is at arms length when it goes off. In a rifle the round is within 6-8 inches of your face. I want to be sure my charges are exactly what I wanted. I weigh each and every charge and trickle it to specification. I love the simplicity of this press. Turret changes are quick and easy. I recommend the Tmag to anyone that wants accuracy in reloading. I don't know about customer service, in the 3+ years I have been using this press, I have never had a problem, so I haven't called them. Good job Lyman.

The best deal among the "strong" turret presses. As good as RCBS but priced lower! I use mine to load .22-250 and .300 WEatherby. No problems at all!

I bought this press about a year ago to load .223 and 30-06. I find it very solid and strong. Full length sizing of 30-06 is very easy with the powerful linkage. Die alignment is accurate w/ the solid indexing system. I can also do reforming of 357 sigs fr 40 S&W w/ only little force. The only problem is the priming system which I find too slow and cumbersome. I hate to fill a tube primer so I use a hand-held tray type priming tool for speed. Overall the Lyman is a very good and well made loader and the price is great too w/ quality equivalent to RCBS or Redding!

Great press for the money, great press that splits the difference between the single stage units and the 'all-out' progressives. Actually prefer it over progressives in many cases. I keep the standard pistol caliber in three holes and alternate the other three with whatever the flavor is for the day.

I have had this press for over 12 years. Use it for 22-250, 243, 30-30, 300 win mag, 357, 44 mag, and 40 SW. I'm picking up an extra Turret Head now even though changing the dies is really no problem. The fit and finish is excellent. My handle tarnished a bit but the finish on the press is wonderful and like brand new. No sideways slop in my press and the guy that broke his must have been doing something you shouldn't with a reloading press! The priming feeder likes to flip over the last primer. I'm finally going to buy a hand priming tool but have used this one for thousands of primers. Great Press, highly recommended.

I bought this press a while ago and think that it is a solid and strong press. I prefer the turret over the small O-frame RCBS I used to use. Overall it's a great press.

Have had this press for over 12 years. Loaded over 10,000 rounds of rifle and pistol ammunition. I really like this press. My rifles are all MOA or better (I get rid of them if they not good shooters). This press and the ammo it produces has never let me down. It is still going strong just like the first day I bought it. I mounted my Lyman 55 powder measure on top of the turret and it works great. Unlike a lot of people I did not by an extra turret head. My dies wear lock rings and always return back to original position with very little effort. By not having the extra turrets it saves some space. I hear people complaining about the auto primer feed. I really like this feature since I do not have to touch the primers with oily hands. It is fast, convenient and easy -but there is a small learning curve in setting it up --just like anything else. There is a sweet spot in setting it up that directions cannot cover fully but it is obvious once you get started. In short I would recommend this press to anyone.

For the price this press is hard to beat. I have done a lot of reloading on mine and it has worked very well. Some of my handloads are seated .005" off of the lands so they have to be precise. I haven't had a problem producing that kind of accuracy yet. The only reasons that I gave it a 4* review are that the turret locating ring that came with it was drilled off center so the turret would not line up with the ram and I'd rather have space for 7 dies per turret. Over all for the money it's a great press but I think I'd spend the extra money for the Redding job if I were to do it again.

I looked carefully at the Lee, Lyman and RCBS turret presses prior to buying for pistol-only reloading and picked the Lyman. After reloading thousands of rounds, I'm still happy! The priming system on the RCBS seems better (I don't prime on the press anyway) but there was considerable "slop" in the turret on the used one I got to try. The Lee is probably a fine press (I didn't get to try one) but I have other Lee products and wanted a bit more "quality" in my next press so I picked the Lyman T-mag. Very smooth, strong, and has an adjustment to take up any "play" in the turret - a nice feature. Don't regret this choice for a minute! Recommended!

This press is a handy size and convenient to operate. Too bad the linkage on mine was very loose with a good deal of side to side movement. I called Lyman and they provided new links and a new link pin, but this did not help. When I contacted Lyman I was unable to talk with anyone who was familiar with this press or could help diagnose the problem. The Lyman press was returned to the seller and replaced with a Redding turret press.

The press is good if you plan to use it for light reloading. It has a lot of flex with it's poor turret support, so if you plan to load larger or longer casings or even light case, forming it is probably not for you. Also the ram stops are part of the main frame and do break, due to there construction in cast aluminum. When this happened to me, I called Lyman and they would not stand behind their product. The cost to repair was more than to repurchase. I'll go with Redding from now on.

The T-mag is a nice little turret press that I find perfectly suitable for pistol loading. It would likely do quite nicely for small caliber rifle as well. The construction is attractive, though there is a bit of side-to-side play in the linkage. This play would in no way affect the performance of the press, but as an overall indicator of quality leaves something to be desired. I currently have one spare head and use this press for .38, .357, and .50AE all of which it handles quite nicely. I don't use the press priming system, so I'll ignore that, but the rest of the press is well constructed. Turret changes are simple, although an extended center nut would simplify things further. (As is, one must rotate the head as the turret is unscrewed, but a deep-well socket or extended screw could rectify this.) In its price range it's a great press.
