These competition seaters work so good I bought them in 30-06, 7mm-08 & 308. I wish they made them in every caliber. They hold the bullet perfectly centered before pressing & allow you to place the bullet in a cut-out above the shell. Bullets seat better without heel or wall damage.

Typical RCBS quality. I realize this isn't the Gold Medal Match die, it’s also $35 cheaper and has the same micrometer adjustment and bullet guide. I use mine on a Turret press, even with the extended shellholder, I just use it as a single stage, that’s the beauty of a Turret press. I don't have all the fancy measuring equipment, all I know is that this die is the only change I made to my reloads, and my groups shrank considerably from 3/4" to putting 5 shots through one ragged hole from a bone stock Bushmaster AR15. I have one for my .204 Ruger as well, and had identical results. I'm very happy with this. The ideal set would be the X-Die for the Sizer and this for the seater.

I use these seating dies whenever possible. Run-out is superb. The bullet drop-in slot is so much easier than using the standard seating die. Stay with RCBS, I tell all my friends. Quality and customer service are 2nd to none. One of the other comments had concern with the bullet falling thru die if shell was not raised to bottom of die. I definitely want a seating die that does not grab and mar bullets during seating.

The product description says "not for use with progressive presses". 'Nuff said. I use one in .308 and one in .223 for my match ammo. There is a pretty tight range of 2-3 thousandths it stays in, not really enough variation to matter, with most spot on. You could cull those out I guess. Lets me shoot 1/4-3/8 inch 5 shot .223 groups with my box stock FV12 on a good day. What's not to love? Oh, the shell holder is part of this "system". Embrace it.

I love the Gold Medal seating die, but this one I'm sending back. You have to use the extended shell holder which makes this one no good for turret presses. Also, when you drop the bullet in the side it falls all the way through to the top of the shell. So you must bring the shell up to the die first than drop the bullet. It seems to be less precise than others in its price range as far as holding and seating the bullet. The RCBS gold metal seater on the other hand holds onto the bullet and aligns it much better to the shell and you can use a stock shell holder.
