The standard alloy for all muzzleloading projectiles such as round balls, conicals or Minies. The Brinell Hardness of pure lead is about 6. Sold by the ingot, not by weight. Approximate weight is 7.70 lbs. per ingot.

  • Pure tin provides only a modest amount of hardening, as its primary purpose is to provide for better filling of the mold.

    Great lead! Very pure, no fluxing required. Melts quickly and pours easily.

    Fits the LEE PRO 4 Melting Pot and with a slight amount of NEY tin (2%), makes great bullets.

    I bought this thinking it was 99.97% pure lead and I could use it to soften some hard alloy I had on hand. However it tested BHN 14 which is way harder than pure lead (BHN- 4-6.) I guess I will have to look elsewhere for soft pure lead.
