Look no further for hearing protection if you're working with handguns. These earmuffs are superb. They're comfortable and exceptionally quiet, but possibly a bit bulky for rifle or shotgun work. I'm notoriously cheap, but I'd have been happy if these had cost twice as much as Midway charges. This is one of the best dollar values out there.

My son and I have used the Peltors at both indoor and outdoor ranges with my Kimber .45, Beretta 9mm and Ruger .22LR. We are able to speak freely and still have our ears protected from muzzle blast. I own several types of hearing protection and these are by far the best, especially considering the moderate price.

They are very comfortable to shoot in and the extra padding is great. I was shooting a 7.62x54r and it sounded like a firecracker. Although it is somewhat hard to hear what other people are saying unless you're right next to them. They are somewhat bulky but I would rather have my hearing than look "cool". Best money I have spent in a while.

I have some five pairs of shooting muffs, some costing a great deal more than these, but none work better. When shooting at the range under a roof, they are a blessing. I used to have to "double stuff" with ear plugs and shooting muffs, but this is not necessary these at all. I'm going to buy another pair as a spare. This my 1st review ever on a product for Midway. You will love them. Your ears will love you.

I purchased these for my girlfriend and when they arrived I happened to be on my way to the range, so she asked me to give them a try and let her know how they worked. I threw them on before entering the actual range and my first thoughts were that they were more comfortable than my Bilsom Leightning muffs. I could still hear peoples normal speech levels very well, so I thought maybe they wouldn't work too well. After all, they were very inexpensive. I loaded up my SIG and fired off the first shot. Wow! I thought to myself and then quickly finished off the clip. A guy next to me was shooting a .40 and two lanes down was an MP-5. These things rock! You could say "Hello" to me two lanes down and I can hear it and say "Hi" back to you. Then you can blast a clip from an MP-5 and my ears are fine. It was like the MP-5 gave me a soft "hello" of it's own. I'm picking up myself a pair of these this week! (Note: The Leightning's are great muffs too, however these are just fantastic!)

Best hearing protection I have ever worn. I'm 61 and trying to protect what hearing I have left. These have helped me do that. I think they are rated the highest for noise reduction. First time I wore them, it was for about 4 hours. They are so comfortable it wasn't a problem. Adjustable head band fits most all head shapes. If you want excellent noise reduction without all the bells and whistles, this is the pair.

I have been shooting for 60 years and have used about everything on the market, including chewed up paper, to protect my hearing. In my opinion there are two kinds of ear muffs, Peltor, and all the rest. Some think the Ultimate 10 is too bulky (big). What I am interested in is noise reduction (preserving my hearing). The Ultimate 10 gives 30 db of noise reduction. A noise reduction of 27 db is 3 db less. Each 3 db of noise is twice the amount of noise that gets to you. Ask yourself, do you want to be stylish and look cool like a real shooter or do you want to be able to hear??? It's pretty simple for me. You spend you money and take your choice.

Great earmuffs, period! They sell at a good price and are very comfortable. The noise reduction is excellent...so much, that I have to pay closer attention to range officers that don't sound off with their commands like they should. My only complaint would be that they are so bulky, that they interfere somewhat with rifle stocks with high combs. But otherwise they are great earmuffs.

The Peltor Ultimate 10 earmuff is the best hearing protection I've used. I've used these when firing everything from .22LR to .44 Magnum in handguns, all gauges of shotguns, and rifles from .223 Rem. to .30-06 Sprg. They do a great job at reducing damaging noise from gunfire. They're very comfortable to wear for extended periods, even in the humidity of a Mississippi summer. I don't even think of going to the range without these.

Unbelievable! M1A's are only felt now and barely heard ;). I don't like expensive earmuffs BUT I do like quality and believe me this _is_ it. I love you Midway but I had to put some blue painters tape over the logo.

To begin with the Peltor Ultimate 10 muffs are very light for a 30db earmuff. They perform their mission well. They are about as quiet an earmuff as there is available, and without question one of the most comfortable. I have not only used these earmuffs for their intended purpose (dampening the sound of shots fired), but I also use them in a grounds keeping role. I finish mow about 2 acres with a commercial zero turn mower and then trim with a weed whacker all this takes about 2 and a half hours. Even though I bounce around a lot these earmuffs don’t even budge they stay put and the comfort level is such that I barely know they are there. I’ve given these earmuffs a solid workout and I really like them.

These are the quietest and most comfortable form of hearing protection I have ever used. I bought a pair on sale and wish that I had picked up 2 more at that price. It doesn't matter what I or the other guys at the range are shooting, I can relax and focus on groups. They are a little bulky, but with my straight comb 30-06 they don't interfere at all. With a raised comb they might, though.

These work well and look pretty nice. The ear cuffs and headband are quite comfortable. As you can tell by the decibel rating they do an excellent job of quieting things down. They lost a star because of their size. These are a fair amount bigger than any earmuffs I've ever had (both in headband width and cup thickness) and a little heavier too. Still, excellent price, comfort, and decibel reduction. Be sure to note these do not fold up like some others.

I bought these for MAX protection and I can attest that they have delivered! I was shooting quite comfortably next to a guy using a 338 Lapua with a muzzle brake. Whilst other shooters were clearing the benches I was concentrating on groups. Very impressed!! Although they are comfy, I found that my ears sweated after awhile in the summer months. I recommend them.

Bought 2 pairs of these a couple years ago----after a couple months the pads started falling out--lost one--rendering one set useless. Hearing protection was compromised due to the poor rattley fit. I will NEVER buy a Peltor product again. Try Howard Leight---less money and made better.
