Designed for loading handgun ammunition, this die is made of steel and features an internal carbide ring that sizes the cartridge while it is being crimped so every round will positively chamber freely with factory-like dependability. The adjusting screw quickly and easily sets the desired amount of crimp. Applies a factory-like crimp (roll crimp) to more firmly hold the bullet in place. A firm crimp is essential for dependable and accurate ammunition. Carbide dies do not require the use of case lube.

I’m using Lee “Factory Crimp Dies” to finish up my handloads for 9mm Parabellum, 40 S&W, and 357 Magnum. I like these dies a lot and they’ve been a perfect solution for feeding problems in my handguns.

Love this die. Taper crimps perfectly and post sizes the case. I also have this in 357mag and 44mag. The reviewer who mentioned he cannot seat a bullet w/o the bulge is probably using the die as a bullet seat/crimp die. Poor fellow should read the instruction and note that this is a crimp die NOT a bullet seat/crimp die!!

Wonderful product. My 10mm w/ a match chamber feeds much better after using this die to finish my hand loads. I never reload for any of my handguns without it any more.

The Lee factory crimp die is the best reloading investment that anyone who makes ammunition for a handgun, which uses straight wall cases, could ever make. Some bullet designs are a larger diameter than advertised, some cases have thicker walls, and seating bullets sometimes causes wrinkles or bulges in the case wall. A combination of these variables can make reloaded ammunition have an interference fit in the chamber. Reloaded ammunition that has an interference fit in the chamber will keep an autoloading handgun from going completely into battery, the gun will jam. This slightly out of battery jam can be avoided with the use of a Lee factory crimp die. The Lee factory crimp die is unlike all other crimp dies on the market because it has a carbide ring that resizes the case after the bullet has been seated. The carbide ring "irons out" wrinkles and bulges in the case and makes ammunition that has a clearance fit in the chamber. Ammunition that has been built with a lee factory crimp die will function very reliably. The Lee fcd also makes a pretty good crimp. Like everything else, the value and usefullness of this superior product is limited to the knowledge, ability, and skills of the user, and to the quality of the components being assembled. I am not an employee of Lee or any company that sells Lee dies, but I wish someone had told me years ago about how much of an improvement in reliability the Lee factory crimp die would make.

This die is perfect for my .40 reloads. No feed problems or FTEs. I will order other dies for lite revolver loads that don't need a heavy roll crimp.

A must for anyone that reloads for a Glock 20. This die removes the dreaded "Glock Bulge" that my Dillon dies left behind. I love this die so much that I now have one for every caliber.

A must-have for reloading the .40 S&W cartridge. Before buying one, I found many of my .40 S&W reloads would get stuck on the way in the chamber, because they were slightly bulged after bullet seating & crimping. Now, I hardly ever get a reload that doesn't fit in a .40 S&W chamber checker. Use in combination with a .40 S&W chamber checker for good quality control & zero misfeeds due to bad reloads.
