This scope is excellent just like the rest of Leupold's optics. The etched glass allows you to continue to use the scope without battery power. To correct a previous review, the scope DOES have adjustable brightness settings. Simply click the unit on and (within a couple seconds) click the power switch again. You can then cycle through the various brightness settings. Stop on the one you like and you're set. The sight comes ready to mount to a Picatinny rail and also comes with various height spacers. This is also an excellent sight for shotgun hunters and muzzleloaders whose states allows optics without magnification.

Very cool tack scope. It has a plex-circle & dot rather than just the circle dot shown in the photo. Look at the hunting version (199132) to see what it looks like. Biggest plus over the EOtech & Aimpoint is the etched retical that lets you use it even without a battery. Biggest minus for me is that I had to mount it so far back on my AR-15 to get a full sight picture that I can't use my BUIS rear sight. Also the illuminator is just on/off so you can't adjust the light level. The mounting system is very easy to install though and it comes with flip up lens covers to protect the glass. Would have got 5 stars with a longer eye relief and a brightness control.

The Light Level is fully adjustable, the other review should read the manual. The Clarity is excellent, and mounts up solid. Now people can buy a La Rue Tactical or GG&G quick detach mount making it able to be even more versatile. The fact you can see the reticle without the use of batteries is a major selling point for me since you don't have to burn up battery in the daylight unlike the EoTech's and Aimpoints. The only downside is the battery choice, makes sense but is awkward to find.
