I installed this follower in my Savage 10FP 223 caliber. Just drop in the cartridge and close the bolt. No more fumbling and jammed cartridges. Highly recommend.

Fit in the magazine box snugly, but I didn't have to force it. (My Savage Model 12BVSS with a blind box magazine required removal of action from the stock to access the magazine). Once I got the rifle put back together, the follwer guided the point of the bullet to hit below the chamber opening. So, like a previous post, I broke out the trusty rotary tool and removed about 1/16 of material from the top of the front retainers to allow the follower to be level or pointed slightly up. While I had it out, I polished the inside edge of the recess that the neck of the brass seemed to be catching. A little more work than I was expecting, but well worth it. Rounds seem to "fall" into the chamber.

Works perfectly but did require some fitting. Side clearance was tight in the front half and at the front corners. A couple minutes on a Scotchbrite EXL de-burrung wheel gave a perfect fit and polish.

Will not fit the new centerfeed stocks. Other than that, it is well made.

First of all, if you have a blind box magazine, you have to remove the stock in order to install this on top of the follower. Second, this did not fit my Savage Model 12VLP well at all. It was very tight on width, and when I finally got it in, it did not sit up level in the action, the front being tipped down. With a Dremel cutter, I removed about half of the height of the front land, down to about .100" on each side. That finally allowed it to go up horizontally into the action against the rear lips of the box. It does work nice when properly fitted to the magazine, feeding my longest handloads flawlessly up into the chamber. Glad I have it, but it took some work!
