I already had a Lee perfect powder measure when I got this one. I like this one better, it doesn't leak and seems a bit more consistent. It is also automatic which saves a lot of extra movement. However, unless you're not picky like I am, you MUST get the adjustable charge bar because the cavities are not sized close enough to each other to make small .1 or .2 grain changes. The double disk kit helps but not for small pistol loads. For instance, 4.6 gr. of Titegroup for 9mm is impossible to get without the adjustable charge bar. But with the charge bar it is excellent. The old measure will surely collect dust.

I use several powder measures in my Hornady progressive. This is among my favorite due to very easy set-up. Using the VMD data for the powder I use, I multiply it with the grains needed and get the volume needed. Select the disk cavity at or slightly below the req'd vol and presto you're ready to load after 1 weight verification. This is done in less than 10mins as opposed to other measures where you have to make several test drops to get the charge you want. This measure may leak a bit but you only need to slowly sand down the hopper supports until the leak is gone. The other nice thing about this gizmo is you can switch powders real easy with the shut-off feature. It can be actuated only by a case and 2 options for reset are available- a spring if you want maximum flexibility and chain if you're the cautious type to prevent accidental double charge. Lastly, it's super cheap. I got two mounted - one on my turret press and another on my progressive. Lee is my choice for simplicity.

This is a very nice powder measure, especially for the money. Because of what some other reviewers wrote, I bought the adjustable charge bar. I wish I hadn't. I can change in 0.3 gr. increments without it. If you need finer increments than that, THEN buy the adjustable charge bar. Until then, just try it as is before spending the extra $10. This was an absolute dream; so fast and convenient, even on a single stage press. I have had an RCBS Uniflow, and this one is the hands-down winner. (I haven't done rifle yet with this, so keep that in mind) With rifle ammo, I will probably use my Lee dipper that came with my Lee die set and trickle every charge to exact weight. This is a great buy.

I have used this measure and the older auto disk powder measure on my Dillon 1050 presses. It drops very consistent charges, especially in the smaller charge range. I trust it more than the Dillon measure. Dillon would have a fit to see a Lee product atop a pair of $1200 presses. Well worth the money even at double the price.

I installed this powder measure on my single stage Lee Classic Cast press to speed up reloading 9mm cases. It screws right into the Lee powder thru expander die. This saves a step during batch loading as the powder is dropped during the expanding process. I have checked the accuracy of the powder drops with a scale repeatedly and when using VV N340 it never varies. I have also not experienced any leakage with the powder I have used so far. I have complete confidence in this measure. I do check all cases in the loading blocks in case of a double charge. I am very satisfied with this product.

I have loaded probably 100,000 pistol rounds with this measure - been shooting IPSC for almost 20 years. Still throws a charge within .1 gr every time, no matter what powder, even if there is only one full charge left in the hopper. Amazing. I DO NOT USE THE ADJUSTABLE DISK FOR LARGE FLAKE POWDERS (i.e. Clays) - it won't throw an accurate charge at small volumes. Don't have that problem with the disks. I have had great luck with all Lee products, and this is sitting on top of my Lee Pro-1000, which has broken or worn out about 3 small parts in 20 years. Don't believe all the badmouthing of Lee products from the Blue people.

Wow !!!! Very impressed with this product. There are a few "optional" accessories that don't come with it that should (riser and adjustable bar) but even considering that I still have to give it five stars. Loaded a batch of 1,000 light target loads in .38-spl with this measure right out of the box and onto my turrent press I set up the measure to drop 2.8grains of powder and then measured the powder drop in every case with my scale for the first fifty cases and every single drop was dead on at 2.8grains from then on out I trusted the measure up until the last ten loads and I weighed them as well and it was still spot on at 2.8grains. Very, very impressive !!!!!!!

This is an outstanding product from LEE. I don't use the disks. I use the adjustable charge bar instead and it makes changing from one grain weight to another a breeze, especialy when you write your loads down and keep track of the CC's each load takes. Also I don't use the pull back chain. It had been giving me troubles and not returning correctly, but instead I installed the spring lever and spring, and that made a world of difference.

When I decided to get into reloading, I bought 2 types of everything, including powder measures. I got the Lee Pro Auto Disk and the Lyman 55. I haven't used the Lyman yet, though I probably will for rifle rounds. For handgun rounds, I can't see a reason to use anything other than the Pro Auto Disk. I measure every 10th charge and they are dead-on every time. I also bought the DD Kit and the Micro Disk Kit, and I plan on ordering the adjustable charge bar. I highly recommend this measure for pistol ammo.

An absolutely unbeatable product. The more you use it, tthe better it becomes. The installation instructions from "Lee" leave something to be desired and their photo was blurred. Once you figure it out, it produces perfect rounds every time. I suggest buying Richard Lee's reloading book to accompany it. it gives you all the disk numbers for each load at a glance. I use it with my turret press and wouldn't trade it for the world.

Wow! I replaced the RCBS Uniflow with this on my RCBS auto 4x4 progressive press. By doing so, I freed up one station that now houses a lock die. This thing rocks! It only drops powder when a cartridge is present, so there is no spilled powder, or having to disable the powder drop at the end of the night (or if you have to redo a station). It uses the disk system of measuring powder, making it very easy to duplicate previous loads. It does, however, mean that your loads are in around .4 grain increments. That means if you need 6.0 grains, and the disks only allow 5.8 and 6.2, you can't get that load. On the plus side, it drops a very consistent charge each time. BTW, you actually CAN get finer control if you buy the double disk kit and the micro disk. That allows you to combine two disks to get finer control. Another downer, this is very flimsy compared to RCBS equipment. I don't know that it is a big deal, as it seems to be sturdy enough to do the job. Finally, this comes with the worst instruction I have EVER SEEN! It has a bag of springs with NO explanation as to what they are for. There are 2 1"x1" photos that the instructions say to set the dropper up like. That is it! Even with those cons, this is well worth a 5 star rating.

I bought this powder drop for one reason; charge to charge consistency - consistency that I wasn't getting from my Hornady powder drop that was included with my L-N-L AP. *** important info *** if you want to do large charges (over 20 gr - depending on specific powder) - make sure you get the "double disk" kit. If you want to do small charges, make sure you get the adjustable charge bar. Both products also let you tailor your loads to within a 1/10 gr. This is my first Lee product. I'd always shied away from them because I was brainwashed to thinking "they are less expensive, so they must be inferior." Not true with this product at least. Charge to charge consistency is +/- 0.1 grain. I think that's as good as it gets in a progressive set-up. The powder through expander die is a great idea. It saves you a station on you press. Now you can put in a powder check die or a separate crimp die (if you only have 4 stations). Overall, I'm impressed with this product. Price vs. performance cannot be beat. One thing - the instructions are not great, but we're all smart guys/gals here ;) Take you time and you won't be disappointed. I'm looking forward to trying other Lee products. Happy shooting.

I own four of the old RCBS AmmoMaster progressive presses. The linkage for the Uniflow and the Uniflow itself can be a real pain. I won’t get into all the reasons why. I decided to give the Lee Auto Disk Pro a shot. THEY WORK. This I what I did and it works for me. Take each disk you have and mark it with a number so you can tell which is which. I marked mine with a metal stamp around the edge so I could identify the disk while it’s in the measure. Don’t mark the flat top of the disk cause that is the seal area for the Elastomer wiper. Why did I do this you ask? I have two "identical" disks that throw different weights of the same powder. When Lee injection molds them things they come out a little off sometimes. Only use the charts for a place to get started. Trust your scale don’t blindly trust the charts. Get the Double Disk set and the Micro Disk to give you big time load adjustment. The riser is very nice to have on pistol dies, a necessity on my progressive presses. If you use the rifle die it will likely be tall enough that you won’t have to stack a riser on top of it. I didn’t need one on my progressive and I use it for 7.62x39. Might need one for 30-06 or some other tall die set. The Pro has the swivel on it already so you don’t have to buy one. The swivel part is necessary. It lets you take the measure off quick and easy. It also allows you to rotate the Pro to suit your needs. It can get kinda crowded on top of a five station progressive press. I have two Pros right now and will order a third soon.

I bought this to load pistol cases in 9mm, 45acp and 44mag. Highly convenient using the Lee Powder Thru expanding die. Auto powder drop beats manual powder charging of other systems- some of them 2x-3x the price of this rig!! Rubber wiper eliminates powder cutting and minimizes powder leaks. You can further minimize leaks by carefully sanding down the hopper supports. Powder shut off system is great especially if you switch disks while loading. I wanted to tailor loads by 0.1 grain increments so I bought the Lee adjustable charge bar. Adjustable cavity in the latter accessory allows you to throw the exact charge you want for maximum accuracy or maximum load for the round. Great for load development!! Lee disk dispenser are IMHO the best for the money!

I have used this powder measure on a Lee Classic Turret Press to reload 357 Mag, 40 S&W, and 223 Rem. To calibrate the press I throw about thirty powder charges and sample three of those charges with a scale. I find that the powder measure delivers about +/- 0.1 gr accuracy. I actually own two of these powder measures, one regular and one with the double disk kit setup. I would buy again, and recommend this product to others. Thanks for another great product Lee.

I have been using Lee Products for several years and ever since I changed to the Pro Auto Disk life is so much easier. I load 223 and I use the double disk with the Pro Auto Disk and it's great!! All ya have to do is get it throwing the charge ya need and be sure to put the smaller disk on top and the larger on bottom. I love it, all I have to do is look at my master list and set up the disk in the Pro Auto and that's all, I may check but I know what powder to use with what double disk or single disk set up, just check the master list - NEVER TRUST MEMORY!!!! I did once and almost got hurt, never again. This Powder measurer is great and I have this and also I have the one for pistol, which is smaller, but they're great. Lee has a great product!!!!

All other powder measures are now obsolete. If you are on a budget but don't want to spend a lot of time either setting up your powder drop for today's application or spend a lot of time trickling because the powder drop is inconsistent, this is your answer. Well worth the few extra dollars over the cheaper ones. Lee Dies even come with charts telling you what volume to use on the Auto Disc.

This measure can be mounted on a progressive press, turret press or, if you wanted, a single stage press. It uses a positive reset chain for progressives but can be converted to a spring model with included parts. I have it installed on my Lee turret press using the expander die (powder through the top). I have loaded about 1000 rounds without any powder leaking and with consistant powder throws. I highly recommend it for the budget minded reloader.

I have a Lee Disk Measure, Lyman #55 and Redding powder measure. However I find myself using the Lee more often. It's consistent, very easy to set-up especially if you know the weights thrown by each cavity for the powder you're using. Especially for high volume loading, the Lee is most convenient. When used with a Lee powder thru expanding die- charging is automatic when the case is inserted in the die. For best convenience and consistency which does not go out of adjustment, the Lee disk dispenser is the best!

Very consistent dispenser. It takes only a few minutes to set-up. Works with any press - even single stage. Only problem is that some flake powder sticks inside the disks and drop tube resulting in squib loads. Like other guys I followed the suggestion found in this site. I used a pencil to coat the surfaces with graphite. However, I find you need to make a THICK coating to completely eliminate powder sticking. Recoat the surfaces before loading a batch of about 300-500 cases. My measure is now OK! Thanks to this site....and Lee of course...

Love this measure. I use it on top of my LEE Classic Turret Press. I use the Lee Safety prime so I installed the Lee powder measure riser also. Everything simply screws together. Using the Lee dies, you don't have to install any chains or anything to activate the measure. The case itself activates the measure so you don't have to worry about it throwing a charge if a case is not present. It throws accurate charges every time within .1 grain using the supplied disks. This is plenty accurate for the practice/target .45 ACP I reload. The hopper is easy to shut off by turning it ¼ turn and easy to remove using two thumb screws allowing you to change the powder disks. My one gripe is that there is no way to set the hopper down when you remove it without it tipping over. And that can be a mess if you have powder in it. The screws that hold it to the base stick way out the bottom so you can't set it upright and the lid doesn't secure to the hopper…it just sits there. If it tips over, the lid comes off and you powder goes everywhere. I made that mistake only once…my fault for not paying attention. All in all a great accessory to your Lee press at a great price. I would recommend it to anyone.

One of the biggest gripes I've read about is the chain keeps breaking (in the Press section) , If you want to stop worrying about the chain get the replacement lever #543877, and the replacement spring #334897, it's kind of mixing old with the new and it works great NO MORE CHAIN. I've been using Lee since 1985 and will continue to do so, for the price you can't go wrong and it produces a quality product.

Simple, safe and reliable. Have used one for several years and 15,000+ pistol rounds. Complaints of spillage and accuracy can be fixed with a 1 cent five minute fix. The cavities have no solid cover when they move over the powder drop hole so the turret motion and the ratcheting of powder mechanism causes the powder to jump up and out particularly in the largest holes with fine ball powder. Just cut a 3 inch square piece of Reynolds Freezer paper and place between the sliding disk and the powder measure top with the slick side down making holes for the two screws and powder wiper/hole. Make sure you position the top to cover the powder drop hole. A very thin sheet of plastic will work as well. This acts as a shim and cover for the moving cavity virtually eliminating spilled powder which is the source of poor accuracy. Went from +/- .5 grains to +/- .15 grains and no spilled powder. Also make sure that the cavity is positioned over the powder drop hole when you have adjusted for case flairing. The dual purpose 38/357 LEE powder die insert for example is different than the 357 LEE powder die insert so adjusting case flair positions the disk cavity slightly differently with respect to the drop hole leaving a lip which can hold powder affecting accuracy. This is typical of many LEE products, where very simple and minor tinkering can drastically improve an otherwise excellent design.

A good measure and excellent when you consider the price. This measure is at it's best regarding application when you have already worked up your loads and know what you want to throw in the way of a charge. The fixed-cavity size of the discs prevent a lot of fine tuning, but once you know what you want and you get it set, it's as consistent as the sun rise, particularly with fine grained powders like Accurate or flake powders like the Alliant offerings. This measure is a must for the Lee turret presses with auto-index because other much heavier cast iron bodied measures will prematurely wear the plastic auto-indexing cog when installed in the turret with a die set. Stay away from the funky chain-actuated non-sense; this design is junk and the Lee measures can all be converted to the excellent spring-actuated auto-disk mode easily which, again, is incredibly reliable, on any of their presses utilizing a powder through case neck flaring die. Long live the Second Amendment!

I have both the Lee auto disk & the Lee pro auto disk. I have two reloaders and do not have to break either down now. I converted the older auto with the parts from the pro to see if I could be upgraded and it worked well. I since then order spare parts from Lee web site such as the wiper seals, etc. Now I have 2 powder throwers that have worked flawlessly over several thousand rounds, (pistol loads). The wipers do wear out with larger grain powders, order some spares to have on hand there easy to install. I use adjustable disk on both also. The accuracy is good 1/10gr +/- depending on powder. When loading match or rifle I scale all loads to exact weight. When loading plinkers one cannot beat these powder throwers. Be sure to buy the riser to save some headaches, also wipe inside down with dryer sheet to kill static. I found this helps measure accuracy problems.

Very consistent. I give it 4 instead of 5 stars because the kit really doesn't come with everything you need. The problem I ran into was that only one aperture would dispense a charge that fell with in my min/max charge amounts and I would need one of the adjustable accessory disks to fine tune the charge amount. The aperture I used, while very consistent also threw a charge .3 grains less than indicated on the table in the instructions. Over all though, very consistent, very easy to set up, I would definitely recommend this kit.

It comes with a chart, and apparently the volume/weight calibration for Bullseye is correct, but for Titegroup, apparently it's off. You've got to verify your charge with a scale. PLEASE DO THIS!! However, once the Pro Auto Disk Powder Measure is set, the charges that it throws are always within 0.1gr. And changing the powder dispenser disk (or just its setting) takes about 30-40 seconds. Yes, you need the riser if you're going to use it on any of Lee's turret presses, including the massive Classic Turret. If you don't, then your dies will smack the Powder Measure. Also, if you have the Safety Prime addition to your Turret / Classic Turret, you've got to turn the powder vessel so it doesn't smack the circular primer holder on the press. Minor quibbles, given the money. And it allows me to just *haul heinie* when I load .45 Colt on the press. It was definitely money well spent.

Works better than expected. I did not spend enough time with the instructions to put on the right spring/arm combo at first. Use the Double Disk feature often also. Repeatability of charge volume is as good as any rotary dispenser I've tried without the tweaking of a micrometer setting. Uniformly dispenses a wide range of powder types. Check weighs while loading indicate +/- a tenth grain. One note of caution, When refilling you may need to cycle several times as each operation "settles" powder in the hopper giving a very slight increase in weight over the first few throws.

Works VERY well, if not perfectly the same every single time with flake powders (As others have suggested, tap the hopper with a pencil for more throw consistency with flake powders.). BUY THE RISER or it won't fit well at all on a 4-hole Lee turret press with Lee dies, which is a bit irritating.

This item will really speed up your reloading if you are measuring each charge manually. I would suggest getting the adjustable charge bar, so you can get more precise measurements. Mine will consistently throw charges within 1/10th of a grain if set up right. I found that as my turret rotates around to the four stations, the powder will pack down a little, so just be sure to adjust it and operate the press normally, i.e. four strokes or three, whatever between weighing the charge, you will get very consistent results. What I noticed is that if I don't cycle the press while I'm setting the adjustable charge bar, the charge will come out about .5 grs to heavy after the press is cycled from the powder packing in slightly. This is a great product, that is VERY consistent with the powders I tried (2400, unique, universal and clays) Be sure to get the riser too if you are planning on using the safety prime, which I would also recommend. Four stars only because the instructions that come with LEE products aren't the best. Thanks Lee and Midway for making reloading easy for beginners to get into!

Very Good Powder Measure!!! Have the Double Disk With the Adjustable Disk also. I have it on the Pro-1000 loaded over 5000 45 ACP one Winter... Never broke the pull back chain ever. Just make sure you have the spring and the chain not real tight on the down stroke... Adjust the Chain right and it is super!!! Really I should give it a 5 Star Rating...

Cool gadget, but not consistent enough to suit me. Assembly & installation was not too difficult. Regarding assembly, the pictures in the instructions were more informative than the text. The unit would throw 5-6 identical charges and then vary as much as +3 grains and some were -3 grains. I am too OCD about charge weights to keep this product. The supplied chart is taylored for pistol powders. If one desires to use this product to load rifle cartridges, I would suggest a different method. Although, if one were patient & determined enough, it could be done (with the Lee double disk kit).

Beautifully designed. Potentially very useful. However, mine developed a longitudinal crack in the drop tube during set-up. An email to Lee Precision elicited 2 replies: They would send another drop tube. The second email canceled the first saying the crack was along the seam from its designed manufacture method. They also said it would not affect performance. Indeed, the crack was large enough that it impeded the smooth up-down movement. Nevertheless, I sent it back and expect better results with a new, replacement, considering all the glowing reports published here.

Wish it was more consistent. I do find myself still checking every charge and on average every 6th charge is either too high or low. If loading for rifle, you have to get the double disk kit. For the price not bad, if doing small volume still a good deal.

Holds charge weight well. Loaded 38 spc with 4 grn of bullseye. I weighed every 10th round and it never varied for over 200 rounds. I did buy the adjustable bar for it instead of using the disks. It is rather cheap looking (all plastic), and will have to see how it holds up in the long run. The only major complaint I have with it is there is for all practical purposes no instructions for its initial setup. Took me about 45 mins to figure out how to put it together for my single press, then about 2 mins to get it done. It would have saved me a lot of time and frustration if Lee would explain the process of setting it up. I also noticed that the powder clings to the hopper very badly (static), making it hard to completely empty it. All in all if you are going to load up a bunch of plinkers, and don't want to spend the kids college fund, its ok, but not quite up to what I would expect from Lee after using their dies, which for the money can't be beat.

While it is easy to use and set up, it just isn't accurate enough for me. I was trying to get a specific load for .223, it would throw anywhere from 38.5 to 40.5 grains of TAC, max load is 40gr. For loading plinking rounds however this is a great product, but I am looking for accuracy in my loads and at the range.

Very poor instructions. They refer to Lee Classic Press manual which says nothing about installing this measure. After waiting for 2 separate shipments of press and then powder measure and primer feed and installing from pictures I find I need the powder measure riser. More waiting, extra shipping costs, etc. Very frustrating. Come on Lee include the riser with the powder measure and put some usable instructions in. Otherwise very nice product.
