My brother has over 40 years & I have 30 years in reloading. We have both used the 1010 scale, and are still using to date. They are still like brand new, with its plastic cover, it keeps the scale clean & dust free. Have tried other scales on the market. No comparision. If you want a scale for accuracy time after time and for long life, then there's only (1)rcbs 1010 scale. The best..

Yep, the 10/10 is the scale that all others aspire to. I've had one for about 30 years and it's as accurate now as it was the day I bought it. As long as you don't abuse the bearing surfaces and keep everything clean, these things seem to be immortal. Since the 10/10 has its own beam and pan self-stowage features (plus a pretty stout storage cover), this particular scale is easy to set up and take back down for storage. Acquiring the habit of keeping it stored when not in use minimizes the likelihood of inadvertent damage, plus it certainly helps to keep everything clean. I'd recommend getting a set of calibration weights. About the only time you'll really "have" to use them is to check things out after the scale has been subjected to any significant shock and vibration (as in shipping or toting to and from a range). Personally, I like the peace-of-mind cal weights provide...especially when setting up a volumetric powder thrower to deliver small charges of Bullseye.

I started out with a Lee loader and a dipper. The first thing I bought when I decided to get serious was the RCBS 1010 scale. 20 years ago they were about half the price they are now. It was a real stretch for me to buy it as things were tight back then. Anyway this is an outstanding value that will last a lifetime. It is still as accurate as the day I brought it home. I personally think every other scale out there is a down grade when compared to this one. I don't need no stinkin digital scale and I can recalibrate this one if it ever needs it. Once you understand how it works you can see at a glance if something is out of wack. Not so with the digital scales.

Absolutely the best scale ever!!! I bought it to replace another manufacturer's inexpensive electronic scale that's giving inconsistent results and figured I'd spend the money to get a really good scale this time. I'm so glad I did and wish I'd done it years ago. This scale checks EXACTLY with check weights. "Approach to weight" feature saves soooo much time when weighing each individual load. Set up, zeroing, and usage instructions were clear and understandable. More than worth the price !

Great item and as accurate as you can get for whatever you reload. I picked this up to replace a BBK that kept failing, I figured this one will not break unless I knock it off the bench!

I have a one of these scales I bought back in the mid 70's when they were built by Ohaus before RCBS bought them out. They are extremely well built, will for sure last more than a lifetime, and extremely accurate. They come with a test weight you can use to check your scale's calibration, but in over 27 years of usaage, I've never had to adjust mine. The cover that comes with it is a big plus in keeping all the parts clean and dust free, but you have to take the balance beam off and put it in its storage slot to put the cover on. But this is very easy to do. The scale also has an "approach-to-weight" feature that is VERY handy. It causes the beam to start to move up, way before you're at the set charge weight. This lets you know that you're coming up on the set charge weight and keeps you from overshooting the charge weight even when dribbling powder out of a dipper or spoon. The magnetic damping is very effective too and the scale settles out much quicker than many cheaper scales. I believe this is the best reloading scale on the market.

I have both an electronic scale and a 10/10 scale. I use this scale over my electronic scale ALL of the time. It is extremely accurate and is easy to use. In my opinion it is the best scale on the market.

This scale is worth the money. The approach to weight feature is very handy. Setting up this scale to zero is much easier than the 505 model I used for many years. I like how the beam, scale pan and scale pan holder all fit neatly in the notched out areas in the frame for storage.

I've been reloading for over 19 years and I have NEVER, I mean NEVER used a scale this easy to use and so fast to come to charge. I used it for the first time last night. And could not believe how fast I could weigh each charge. AMAZING!!! Worth every penny.

Outstanding product, very accurate scale. I really liked how easy it was to set up, I prefer it over electronic models because of it's simplicity but yet you get very good results. Would recommend it for beginners and experienced loaders alike.

I had an Ohaus 505 (with Lyman's name on it) that I used for about 40 years. I think the little quartz pieces finally wore out, so I got the Ohaus 1010. This is an excellent scale. I use it with an electronic scale marketed by Hornady, and once you get the Ohaus set, it's right on the money and stays that way. In my opinion, there are no better scales than Ohaus, unless you want to spend some really serious money. And then I'm not so sure that Ohaus wouldn't stack up well even with some expensive competition. If you buy this scale, it probably will outlive you, and still be accurate.

Beautifully made. Compact and stores in it's own case. If you have purchased a lower quality scale and are ready to move up this is a great scale. Accurate, easy to use, easy to read, reliable. This scale is a pleasure to work with.

I'm a commercial loader. I used a Lyman (Ohaus) 505 scale for 40+ years and finally decided I needed something with more capacity. I trust only Ohaus products, and found their 1010 was being marketed as an RCBS. I've used it for two years, and can only give it rave reviews. My only suggestion for change would be a larger pan. Beyond that, this scale approaches perfection.

This Scale is the Cadillac of scales!! I replaced my Lee scale with this one. The lee is a good starter scale, but the 1010 will spoil you! Fine quality, portable, and easy to use. The range makes it great for any reloading job. I've been reloading pistol, and was worried about 5 grain measurements. The scale is right on the money even at low weights. The removable pan makes it easy to empty. Would recommend to anyone who is serious about load accuracy. You can't get better that this!

Excellent construction and very accurate with dampened beam. Instructions are poorly written. The included weight is not a check weight but, a tare weight. The picture on the website is misleading. To zero you must have the brass powder pan sitting on the hanging pan holder. It will not zero without both of them. Only use the included weight if you plan on weighing between 500-1000 grains.

This scale works great. It's very consistent and easy to use. At first the micrometer type adjuster for the 1/10 gr was a little hard to turn, but it loosened to just right once I used it a little bit. The extra capacity is great, because it is enough for pretty much any caliber, but also, if you want to double check your powder charge with completed rounds I found myself weighing 2 or 3 at a time and cutting my checking time in half or more. If in doubt put one extra charge of powder in the pan and then weigh two bullets, it's immediately obvious. The spring helps to prevent you from going over when you are making test loads as well. You have to remove the beam to store it under the cover, but it takes only seconds, just slide it to 400 and it all sets right into place. This scale is awesome, worth the cost and you should have it forever. No batteries, no electronics, no wondering. Just simple, reliable, quick, confident operation. Thank You

Many years ago I purchased an Ohaus 505. It was a very good scale. But, it was damaged while moving. I read all the reviews on all the electronic scales and decided against them. Then I read the reviews at various locations on the Ohaus 1010. I purchased the Ohaus 1010 a month ago. The scale is simply amazing.

This RCBS 1010 scale is fantastic and very accurate. I loaded 20 .308 loads after balancing the scale, set the scale weights back to zero and balance beam went back to zero. And then I continued on reloading my ammo. A little something I did that may help others I know every one likes there scale to sit higher up on the bench about eye level. So I purchased a I think its a rubber maid foot stool with a rubberized top and set my scale on top of that and it worked great, hope this helps. Oh by the way it came from Home Depot.

Decided not to go the electronic route as I don't trust the power grid. Besides that, I don't trust my life to electronics, especially when measuring out explosives like smokeless powder. VERY accurate and even has adjustable levelers as being off balance can affect scales. They have thought of everything!

I don't write reviews but for this scale it deserves one. I have been reloading for 10 years and it is by far the best scale. Zeroed right out of box with little effort and stays true for 2 rounds to 200 rounds. I just wish I had bought this scale years ago. I don't like the electronic scales because I like to see what’s going on. This scale is by far the best I have seen and used. I recommend to long time reloader to the first timer get the best and this scale is it. 6 star scale. Good safe reloading to all

Great scale. However, could be improved. It's not sensitive enough on its own for my taste. I have to tap the frame a few times with a magic marker with every weigh in to make it settle in and give the correct reading. Would be nice if were precision enough to not need this treatment.

I just replaced my new plastic RCBS with this 1010 scale. I will be using this 1010 scale for good. I would have gave it a full rating accept I had to call RCBS and get instructions on how to add weight inside the pan to get it to zero. At 1st I thought it was defective. a short note in the box would have helped, or just sending it already balanced would have been nicer.

I bought this to upgrade my mid nineties 505 scale. Unfortunately it would not zero due to insufficient weight in pan holder. RCBS said to add more weight, so I opened the pan holder and was very disappointed to find odd shaped lead particles and SLAG in the pan! My 505 had round lead balls which helped to distribute the weight. The micrometer would not line up its zero with the fixed scale either. For the money they want for this I thought I was getting top of line equipment. I sent it back and Midway is refunding my money along with shipping both ways. If you buy it you may have to return it to get it to function as advertised. I'll keep my old unit and give it a little TLC. I'm not a happy RCBS customer anymore. Very poor quality control, as a matter a fact this couldn't have been inspected for accuracy prior to leaving the factory otherwise they would have discovered these problems. RCBS has lost a customer, good for Redding and Hornady! P.S. As always Midway is GREAT to work with!

Ordered & received the first of these scales, it would not balance to Zero. Tried for 30 minutes, it would not even come close. The second one I received had several problems. The so called "foot" or height adjustment is actually just a rounded screw in the bottom of the base that does not have enough adjustment. The adjustment would barely make the beam reach the Zero mark when all of the adjustment has been used. After I got it to zero, the scale would not give a correct reading with the 250gr weight that came with the scale. I checked the same 250gr check weight with my older RCBS scale 5 times, & it came out exactly on zero. The new 1010 always showed a higher weight than the 250gr check weight. I am sending this scale back & keeping my older one that is more accurate.
