This cleaning trap makes clean-up after gun cleaning easier. The polymer trap slips over the barrel where it is held in place by foam pads. The trap then catches all solvents, residue and patches that come out of the barrel. When finished, simply empty and rinse out the trap. The end caps on the trap can be removed for easy cleaning and removal of debris.

Picked this up just to give it a try. It's a great tool to have. Keeps bore paste from splattering on my bench, floor, and walls. Turned upside down it fits over the bayonet lug on my old 6.5 Carcano rifle. Awesome deal, awesome tool.

What a great tool! When scrubbing the bore with a solvent drenched brush, this captures all the splatter and mist that exits the bore. At the range, this prevents the patches from dropping out the end of the barrel and blowing away. At home it keeps the patches from falling on my wooden bench, or if I clean in front of the TV, it keeps them from landing on the carpet. The clear plastic is very useful because it allows me to see the patches as they exit the bore before they are trapped inside the tube. When I'm done, I just pop off the end cap and dump the soiled patches in the trash can.

The MuzzleMate is a solid performer. I have used this product for several years now. I shoot nearly 40 weekends a year. Therefore, it got LOTS of use. It fits over most iron sites and does an excellent job containing the solvents that normally spray off the brushes when they exit the barrel. As for alternating between patch and brush. Be careful your brush doesn't pick up a dirty patch as it exits inside the MuzzleMate. I have used this for rifle from 22 to 458 plus my single barrel shotguns. After several years of frequent use, the spring clips finally broke. Time for a new one.
