I assume those that rated this product poorly did not fully follow the directions and good advice given in the direction pamphlet. I am extremely pleased with my results on my Mosin Nagant M44 barrel. I took my time, followed the directions and got an awesome result. Take your time, apply multiple coats, and cure it overnight with a coat of Kroil...I couldn't be happier.

Great stuff for the price. The first time I used it I was less than impressed with it but the second try, it worked awesome. Follow the directions to the letter and you will not be disappointed.

The product worked well for its price. The most important thing to do is metal preparation. I blued two guns with it and both turned out well.

I just refinished an old Winchester Model 67 and used this kit on the barrel. Worked like a charm! I will say though, I deviated from the directions. Instead of using the cold water like instructed I went with Midway's video of using hot water and it worked beautifully!! The degreaser is fair, but the blue and rust remover is FANTASTIC. Takes the rust and bluing off in no time. To get a nice dark bluing on the barrel took a lot of time though, and 0000 steel wool is a must. But it is a great kit!!

I will be charitable and give this stuff a 3. In practiced hands, it is capable of producing fair to good results. You just need to know how to work with it. 1) Don't think you are going to blue your gun in an hour. Assume a 4-hour job to re-blue a rifle or shotgun. 2) This stuff is as thin as water and runs accordingly. Put it on slow, put it on even. Have lots of 00 steel wool on hand to blend in the streaks. 3) After about 5 coats it begins to look better than what you just took off. However, put on at least 10 coats. 4) Let it cure. 5) It produces a FAIR to GOOD bluing for $3.99

The blue remover worked fine, but the blue itself was awful. I followed the directions, but the end result was a thin, uneven blue that promptly rusted. The solution was also bad to run during applications, and that basically ruined everything. The only upshot was that it gave me an excuse to just buy a whole new shotgun.
