I bought this holster for use with a S&W 642 (with factory rubber grips). It works great. The retention strap holds the 642 secure by going over the back of the trigger guard and the spring belt clip keeps everything in place. Thin, comfortable, and very functional. I recommend it.

The belt clip works well, the stitching looks like it may not last more than one year but if you have a 640-1 with the factory rubber grips... the strap won't help secure the handgun, it will slip off. Maybe ok with wood grips.

Bought this for a Ruger P95 and it is a little tight. Had to cut a bit of the stitching to make it fit right at the barrel. Worked the leather a lot and now it rides pretty well. Well worth the price I paid.
