I traded in my Lee Challenger press and bought a RCBS RockChucker. This Press is Rock Solid. The first thing I noticed when I started to reload was how sturdy the ram is. No side play. The Toggle and main Ram pins are polished solid hardened steel. The compound leverage makes easy work of my 308 Winchester brass. I full length resized a friends 300 Winchester Magnum brass with ease. The other thing I like about this press is the finish. It has a very good epoxy enamel finish. It easily whips clean from primer residue after full length resizing. RCBS has wonderful customer service also. I emailed them with a question on the best way to do maintenance on the press. To my surprise, I had an email back the next day with the answer and a phone number to call if I needed to talk to a real person. You won’t go wrong with this press. It will last a life time.

I reload large quantities of pistol ammo on a Dillon 650. I recently started loading rifle ammunition and after a few thousand .223 on the 650, I realized that progressive is not the way to go for rifle loads, especially big cases like the 30-06 or .300 Win Mag. I bought this press to load rifle calibers and am very pleased with it. I agree with an earlier review about the primer catch, it seems as many end up on the garage floor as in the plastic tray. A through the ram system would be a significant improvement. Also, don't be surprised like I was when your new RCBS automatic primer system won't work with this press. While it was advertised for the Rock Chucker presses, it won't work with the supreme. Overall this is a great press, plenty strong to handle the big calibers. You can't go wrong with a Rock Chucker supreme as long as you don't mind shop vac'ing up spent primers and can live with setting each primer in the ram by hand.

The best single stage tool for less than the price of Redding Big Boss or Hornady Lock N Load! This press is my favorite and finest. Compared to Lee, this press is much better built for loading magnum rifle cases. I use this for 300 win mag and 480 Ruger. No problems at all! I plan to get another one. At $99, you can't get any better deal in this planet!

Awesome press. This thing is the king of single stage presses. There is plenty of clearance for anything you might be loading short of a 408 chey-tac or 50 BMG obviously. Super tight tolerances, pretty good primer catcher, and great ambidextrous handle. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are looking into getting the best single stage press out there that will last you forever if you take care of it.

By far one of the best if not the best single stage press on the market. I've had mine for about 6 months now and have made over 2000 rounds with it without a single problem. If you don't have any equipment yet just buy the kit and a trimmer along with the Lyman manual and you're good to go.

A very, very good single stage press. I've been searching for a complement to my Dillon 650 for loading my .223 and .300 winchester mags. This press came at the right time. And what a pleasure to use. Effortless sizing and larger opening helps a ton when loading the long 300 mags. If I had to run and hide in the mountains in a hurry and could only have 1 press for my life, I'd take the Rock Chucker w/o even thinking!

After so many years, RCBS has finally responded to the regular clamor for a larger opening of the Rock chucker press. THis latest upgrade is excellent. The linkage is not only stronger, the larger opening makes bullet seating for the long magnums much easier. Sad though for those who bought other presses and couldn't wait for the Supreme. Well, nobody can say you should only have one press!

The best single stage made superlatively better. Larger opening helps a lot in sizing those long magnums. Linkage is better leveraged for full length sizing. Powerful and smooth linkage overcomes the limitation of the old Rock Chucker.

The bestest (pardon the grammar)single stage press in the world is the Rock Chucker. This latest mutation gives the reloader even greater convenience especially if you load those long cases. If you do regular case reforming like I do, the powerful links on this tool will satisfy even the wildest case reformer. The provision for quickly switching handles from left or right mount is also a feature long sought by us lefties. The only nagging question in my mind is -why only now? RCBS could have made tons of money with this Supreme version. Even it were priced twice it's currently selling, I'd buy the supreme w/o hesitation!!!

I reload .308 Win for my AR-10 rifle. Full length sizing can be a problem with light presses. I used to have an RCBS partner single stage but it was destroyed beyond repair after full length sizing thousands of .308 Win rounds over the years. I decided to look for a heavier press and decided to get the Rock chucker after consulting my reloader friends. I am very satisfied with this tool. Sizing is easier and feels like the case is made out of plastic. Because of the powerful linkage, I did tear off the heads and rims of some of my older cases, but I can't blame the press for this. I would rate this press as excellent. Make it an RCBS and you won't regret it too!

After 10 years my old single stage press had developed a wiggle so I decided to replace it. This press was one of the most solid among Lyman and Redding Big Boss presses. I decided to get the Rock Chucker after reading the reviews and noting that not much dollar difference is between these brands. It was a good choice. I load .308 Win for my M1A and .223 for my Ar-15. These rifles require full length sizing and the Rock Chucker handles the job very easily. Recently, I also started reforming some brass for my Thompson Encore. This is also done w/ little effort on the RC. This press is one of the best IMO!

After my bad experience with progressive presses, I bought a Lee Turret for loading my pistol rounds. It's ok but I wanted a single stage press for full length sizing my rifle rounds in 7mm weatherby Mag and .223 Rem. This press was the perfect solution. I never had it easier. Where the Lee would flex and creak. This thing would "whistle" while full length sizing the long 7mm mags. Case reforming 270 Win to 270 Redding is also "chicken feed" for this press. The wider opening is a lot of help when bullet seating on the 7mm. No more pinched fingers! I have to say I'm very, very happy with my purchase and I'm sure if you do; YOU WON'T BE SORRY - GUARANTEED!!

Just setup and started using my Rock Chucker Supreme press, it works flawlessly! The design of this press is solid, it requires significantly less effort to resize cases than my old press does. I haven’t experienced any problems with the spent primer catch system as reported by a couple of other raters. This press meets the high quality and excellent design that I have come to expect from RCBS. Would definitely recommend this press to anyone in the market to buy one.

Tighten the jam nut on the handle, empty the primer catch BEFORE it overflows and you are good to go. I have always been a single stage reloader and this press makes for a great experience. RCBS customer service is legendary, the press functions wonderfully with my Lee dies, I couldn't be happier "Going Green!"

The press is very durable and produces excellent, consistent ammunition. I have reloaded everything from 6BR through 416 Rem on this press as well as target grade ammunition for the highest levels of NRA Long-Range shooting. It is without question the best investment in ammunition remanufacturing that I have ever made.

My reloading mentor taught me using a RCBS RC-II. After doing a substantial amount of homework, and comparing different models on the shelf, I decided on the RC-IV for my first press. My experience after one year of use is that the positive reviews are closer to the mark than the few dissatisfied users. Tolerances for the moving parts are tight and the movement is smooth and easy. Based upon previous reviews there were several points to which I paid particular attention. The two-point mounting holes are not a problem is you use heavy enough bolts and a solid workbench (the table moves long before the press). I doubt that there is such a thing as a perfect primer catcher for any manufacturer, but all it takes for the RC-IV is a small roll of paper towel behind the plastic to prevent any gap between the catcher and the ram. The result is that over 99% of primers stay in the catcher. If you put masking tape lightly over the wells, then you won't ever dump primers on the floor before emptying. Five cents worth of "adjustments" simply doesn't demand spending more money.

If anyone can show me a better press for even close to the price of the RCBS, I'll buy it.

I have been loading pistol ammo with an early Lyman T-Mag II for years. I started loading for rifle, and was having trouble full length resizing with the Lyman. The Rock Chucker Supreme has a precision instrument feel to it, and effortlessly sizes cases. I decided on this press over the Lee Classic Cast because I was more confident that RCBS would have tighter manufacturing tolerances (ram alignment with the threaded die hole)which is the route cause of my problems with the Lyman T-Mag. If you want the feel of precision and smoothness, get this one. Use a broom or shop vac for decapped primers on the floor.

I have an old Rock Chucker II, but from the picture it doesn't look like too much has changed. An excellent press, EXCEPT the fact that it only has two mounting holes/slots makes it difficult to secure with zero play, which helps to ensure precise OAL's. The next single stage I buy will have at least three mounting holes.

So far seems like a nice upgrade to the classic Rock Chucker design. Glad to see it is still compatible with the Hornady Lock N Load bushing, although you WILL have to readjust your dies (upward) if you previously used a classic Rock Chucker. It mounted using the same bolts & holes on my Midway Portable bench, that's nice. Disappointment -- RCBS still just doesn't get depriming. Primer catcher is still too small and too many primers don't go into it. Definite drawback for us "living room" users of the Midway Portable bench. What I really want is a nice strong press like this, Lock N Load bushing and Midway Portable Reloading bench compatible, with positive spent primer control. I'd want to borrow a feature from the Forster Co-ax or Redding Ultramag, where the primers run down through the ram and into a collection bottle.

I used the original Rock chucker for about 5 years, 25 years ago. It was an OK product back then, but I was never really thrilled with it. My understanding is that quality has slipped a bit since then. After 5 years of use I chucked the Rockchucker and bought a Redding Ultramag, never looked back since. The Ultramag has a much larger front opening to get your hands in to place the components. Its smooth as silk and first rate in build quality. The Ultramag costs more, but if I would have bought the best in the first place I would have been money ahead in the long run. I seem to have to learn that lesson over and over.

Received my new RC Supreme. Nice press, but I like my old RC2 better. The primer arm pin was not well thought out. The primer arm pin screws in and tighten's itself when you rock the arm inward, locking itself down. Making the primer function of this press almost useless. I attempted to use Locktite on the screw, but that only helped for a short time.

This is my 3rd press. I wore out a C&H and a RCBS Partner press. I also own a Dillon 650, and have used several others. My first impression was very good. This press “was” quite smooth and has good leverage. However after about 500 rnds of sizing 308’s, I was becoming quite disgusted with all the primers on the floor. The old “Rock Chucker” as well as the “Partner Press” had a much better method of catching the spent primers. Also, when I try to remove the spent primers to dump them, they end up all over the place. After about 5000 rnds, I’m not very impressed. Their method of seating primers isn’t even worth using. The arm the cup sits on is too weak, the screw that holds it in place, works its way out, the primer cup gets broke because of misalignment, and the ram isn’t very smooth anymore. This could have been a nice press if they would have worked out the above issues, but I also don’t think it will last as long as my other 2 presses did. I will look for a good used Rock Chucker or Herters at the next gun show. This new stuff just doesn’t have the quality as the older machines.

The Rock Chucker Supreme does not have the quality of the RCII IMHO. I own a RCII and was looking for more stroke - the Supreme has more play in the linkage than my RCII - on par with some of the lower cost presses - to the point of being sloppy. I chose a Redding Big Boss and it is very well made. Still have high praise for the RCII.

Sold my old reliable RCBS JR. press that I bought in 1974 and bought the RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme because I had a gift certificate I needed to use. What a mistake! The primer catcher on this thing is the biggest joke I've ever seen in the history of reloading equipment. About 20% of the primers miss the primer catcher altogether, but it doesn't matter because by the time you PRY the cheap two piece plastic catcher off of the press the back of the catcher has already popped off and you've dropped almost all the primers on the floor anyway. If you buy the press make sure you have a good broom and dustpan. I'm going to return this press and buy some other brand with a primer catcher that actually works.
