"A Great Shot Starts with Starline Brass"

Starline strives to hold the closest production tolerances possible on every piece of brass they manufacture. All brass is produced within SAAMI specifications and includes special heat treating processes and designs to enhance strength and longevity. New, unprimed brass. This is not loaded ammunition. Bulk brass should be full-length sized, trimmed and chamfered before loading.

Preparation:

  • Due to the manufacturing process and/or shipping, case mouths may not be perfectly round. To ensure a round case mouth, cases must be sized (or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through case neck) and deburred/Chamfered prior to loading.

    Notes:
  • A light "staining" may be found on the case neck of new brass. This is due to annealing. Annealing is a process, performed by the manufacturer, which involves rapid heating to a specified temperature followed by rapid cooling. This process imparts cases with the proper hardness to securely hold a bullet as well as gives flexibility to expand and contract upon firing and repeated forming. The "staining" is a residue from this process. This stain may be removed by tumbling before loading.

Starline nickel plated brass is of the highest quality, in the "right" price range, and is my choice for .44 Remington Magnum. Period.

Starline Brass is the best brass I've used. I've been reloading for 10 years and tried many brands and for the value Starline brass is the best. Size spec's are well within tolerance out of box and brass lasts many reloads without showing signs of failure. I use it for all my loads 9mm, .357Mag, 357Sig, 40S&W, .44MAG, 45ACP, 454Casull, 50AE, 460S&W, 500S&W. Good brass would recommend it to anyone.

Great brass; My Dad has some that's ten years old and still going strong. As with any brass, don't work it too much by over belling and crimping.

Starline is the best brass I have ever used. I use the 44 mag. cases to load for my S&W 629 and my Winchester 94. The walls of the brass are thick and reload time after time.

Definitely one of the best manufactured cases available. I use these cases for my hunting loads. The consistancy in case weight and dimensions is of match grade quality. Starline goes as far as deburring and beveling the flashole from the inside of the case. For everyday loads, plinking and the like, buy Remington bulk. However for serious hunters, who demand quality and weather resistance, the Starline nickel plated case is an excellent choice. This is the only brass i use to make up my hunting loads.

I have read about some people having issues being short brass when ordering the Starline brand, but my box came complete with all 500 pieces. The uniformity between pieces was excellent in terms of length and other dimensions. I am on my second reloading and the primers still go in consistently from piece to piece. From my limited experience I would not hesitate in buying this product again.

Great price, great brass. Rounds look professional with 180 XTP using my deluxe Lee dies. Very accurate groups and extracts nicely. Doesn't chip the nickel like the Remington brass does. Just buy the Starline nickel, don't bother with anything else.

Starline brass is exceptional. It has a slightly thicker wall thickness than other brass manufacturers which means more reloads. Always top quality in any caliber I have used.

I have tried both Starline and Rem 44 mag brass. In my opinion the Starline wins hands down. When loading SL and Rem brass with the same bullet and trim length the the Rem brass buckeled badly. Not one of the SL brass buckeled at all. I am using RCBS dies 1/2 turn past contact with the case, roll crimp. I had to drop to almost 1/4 turn and some Rem brass still buckeled when crimped. The flash hole of the SL brass is very clean. The Rem flash holes shwoed larg uneven burrs. I have loaded the SL five or six times and have had no cracks etc. I can not say the Rem is down right bad, many seem to like it, but I will buy only Starline pistol brass from now on.

Got this brass a year ago and just opened the box (100ct) yesterday. Good overall quality & reloaded easily. Trimming is necessary to even up the brass length. No problems with performance. Gets a lower rating due to there being only a count of 99 in box. Not good when you lose 1% of your brass before you even get it. Never have had this problem of miscounts with other brands. Other than that it's good brass for the money.

I bought two boxes of 100. One box was short two cases. Midway buys in bulk and repacks. Brass is good if not a bit soft for my taste.

I really like this brass. However, about 2% of it the nickel will flake off at the crimp or after shooting. Starline says that it is nickel plated after purchased from their company and not by them.

I've been using Starline cases for over 10 years. The walls are thick and they can be loaded many times. They are a true pleasure to work with. The quality control seems to have disappeared. I don't know if it's Starline or Midway, but the last hundred 44 mags I received had several crushed and split cases. I've bought once-fired cases in better condition. Someone should fix this negligence immediately.

Nice looking brass but the OAL was short of the recommended trim lenght of 1.275in. To bad that Starline could not make the cases just a few thousanths of an inch longer. I will most likely go back to Winchester brand.

Cases seem very uniform in dimensions and did not require initial trimming. Primer pockets seem slightly tighter than normal, but I like them this way. After the first firing, however, about 10% of the cases developed a bulge directly above the belt, where the sizing die cannot reach. Never seen it happen with other brands. These cases were discarded. The cases that did not bulge seem to be quite durable. After 4 or 5 reloads, there is still no lengthening that would require trimming. These cases are a joy to reload. There is no oxidation to worry about, and all the dirt and grime comes off easily with very minimal tumbling. Nickel also makes them resistant to scratches that normal brass cases tend to develop while passing through the action of my Marlin. After multiple reloads, they still look like new. This would be a 5-star rating if it wasn't for the bulging problem.

I purchased this brass on the recommendation of several people. The box was short on count, and the brass required more trimming than any other brand of pistol brass I've used. It's held up well, though. The brass is "good enough", but I was disappointed in the quality control--both in manufacturing and packaging. I'll order it once more to be fair in case I just got a bad batch.

Have yet to fire this brass... 44 Mag I did find the primers hard to seat....I am using CCI large pistol primers. I badly bent a few primers on installing and had several not seat deep enough and locked up in the primer tool.....it was like the primer hole was just a bit small.....I may try some Winchester primers next time.

I ordered 100 pieces of Starline brass. While the brass does look great and looks like it is thick and tough, mine was short 10 pieces. Be aware that if you're ordering Starline brass, it might be short by 10%. This isn't acceptable to me, I'll be buying Winchester in the future.

I bought some of this brass on 10/25/04 and reloaded it four times and it started to crack. I have lost 13 out of 100 so far and its 11/20/04. I have not made any hot loads so that's not the problem. Buy at your own risk.
