Designed for loading handgun ammunition, this die is made of steel and features an internal carbide ring that sizes the cartridge while it is being crimped so every round will positively chamber freely with factory-like dependability. The adjusting screw quickly and easily sets the desired amount of crimp. Applies a factory-like crimp (roll crimp) to more firmly hold the bullet in place. A firm crimp is essential for dependable and accurate ammunition. Carbide dies do not require the use of case lube.

I replaced my Dillon crimper on my 550 with this die. I was having feed jams on my Glock 19. I noted immediate improvements in my gun's performance - less feed jams, tighter groups, easy extraction. The post sizing carbide die is the reason. Taper crimp is also perfect. Great product! worth every cent! Get one and its very cheap too!!

I agree with all the other glowing reviews. This die rocks! For the first time since starting reloading 9mm's I can actually fit them in the Frankford Arsenal case gauge successfully. Prior to this die, they had case bulges that put them out of spec.

This die works very well for repeatably crimping and ensuring that all ammo will chamber easily. The carbide sizer ring at the bottom of the die is literally chamber diameter...so those of you having problems inserting your loads into this die will need to set your seating die to just lay the case against the side of the bullet and not actually crimp it during the bullet seating operation. Then all of your rounds will insert into this die easily. Where-ever a crimp is needed these LEE Factory Crimp dies have been the best performing dies I've ever used.

Taper crimps perfectly!! The crimp sleeve inside the die "floats" to find its center. This ensure proper taper crimp vs. "fixed' crimp shoulder. Bonus is the post carbide sizer which ensures chambering on any 9mm luger chamber. A super product!!!

The Lee factory crimp die is unlike all other crimp dies on the market because it has a carbide ring that resizes the case after the bullet has been seated. The carbide ring "irons out" wrinkles and bulges in the case and makes ammunition that has a clearance fit in the chamber. Ammunition that has been built with a lee factory crimp die will function very reliably. The 9mm Lee factory crimp die has a sharp edge at the bottom of the ring that caused the case mouth to hang up. I rounded off the sharp corner with fine sandpaper and the problem disappeared.

I’m using Lee “Factory Crimp Dies” to finish up my handloads for 9mm Parabellum, 40 S&W, and 357 Magnum. I like these dies a lot and they’ve been a perfect solution for feeding problems in my handguns.

I was looking for a post sizing die to correct some jamming problem on my Glock 17 reloads. This die was the solution. The carbide sizer irons out buldges on rounds due to seating and/or oversize bullets. Crimp formed is also good and the die is very simple to adjust (no tools needed!). My Glock pistol no longer jams!! Thanks Lee!!!

Absolutely the best kept secret in reloading equipment! Now every single round fits the case guage and drops out from it's own weight. Before I was reloading only one headstamp at a time to get consistent crimps, not anymore!

On some forums, people either love or hate these dies. Nothing to hate; lots to love. During a reloading session, I would have some percentage of cases that would not fit the case gauge guide. This really slowed down the process having to case gauge each and every round. With the Lee Carbide Crimp die, ALL of the rounds pass the case gauge test. I now only test a percentage of the reloaded batch, and they are all good. While this is an improvement, it would be worthless if the ammo didn't shoot well. I use Hornady New Dimension dies (the Hornady seating die just seating, not crimping). I finish with the Lee die. The ammo shoots reliably and accurately. I wouldn't load without it. Note: if you check out some of the commercial loading machines, you'll find that their final station is a post size. There must be something to it.

Don't even *think* about reloading 9mm carts without this die. I'm upgrading all of my die sets with the Lee factory crimp die.

While I'm normally an RCBS user, I really like the Lee Factory Crimp dies. I've got the dies for my 45 ACP, 40 A&W and 10mm. They work beautifully and eliminate problems with bullet set-back in non-cannelured pistol loads like I previously had. I can highly recommend this die, and have a 9mm Luger die on order.

Great bit of insurance for those couple of rounds that don't quite measure up. According to the instructions it is common for some cases to not touch this die at all, meaning they were OK, but every so often, you feel one of them being straightened out and pressed into shape by this die. I usually crimp my cases with the bullet seating die, so this die is usually not necessary, but the added operation is simple and saves you from having to clear a jam at the range. I use a single stage press, so this does add an extra operation, but if you have a multi stage press, you won't even have to worry about this. This die is also good for bringing those couple of cases that jammed due to magazine issues or such back to shape without tearing them apart (provided the bullet wasn't crammed deeper into the case of course).

It's OK, but the bullet case mouth edges tend to jam on the carbide wall sizer every forth bullet or so, which slows down reloading production when having to guide the bullet by hand.....I prefer using the "Lee taper crimp" die which has no carbide sizer. That die I give 5 stars to.

Great piece of gear! I put in on my Dillon 550. I like it better than my Dillon die because it sizes. I also like the fact that it is easy to adjust and requires no tools to adjust. The way it adjusts allows you to draw a line on the adjustment knob and make index lines (with a little experimentation) on the die so you know where your different crimp settings are. I gave it a 4 because it does work the brass a little hard and leaves brass shavings on your press. But it does ensure your rounds fit your chamber. I won't buy any other type of die from now on.
