Lightweight aluminum Williams 5D Receiver Sights are designed for rugged use and feature positive windage and elevation locks. Please note that your firearm's receiver must be drilled and tapped for installation.

  • Sight has a rustrproof, anodized blue-black finish and weighs 1-1/2 ounces
  • Fits: Winchester model 94, 55, 63, 64, 65, and 9422; Marlin models 336, 336, 1894 (Pre 2001) and 1895 (Pre 1994) models.
  • Use # 774-488 for 1895 models with the factory drilled and tapped holes in the reciever; Sears centerfire lever action.

    I have a top eject, WInchester model 1894 made in 1967. On the left side of the reciever, there are two tapped and plugged holes. Removing the plugs was easy, and with a little locktite, installing the sight was simple. It took only about 5 rounds to zero the sight. I am amazed that the carbine now groups around 2 inches at 100 yards. With the old stock sights, the best I could do was groups around 4 inches wide. I plan to buy another sight to put on another 1894 that I have. I am now spoiled.

    I installed this peep sight on a pre-saftey Marlin 444. It fit and installed without any problems. The factory front sight height is fine with this sight. You do not need a taller front sight as some Marlin aplications require.

    I put a 5D sight on my Marlin Guide Gun. It was simple to install and easy to get the sights zeroed. A simple, tough, reliable sight.

    mounted this sight on my 1956, Winchester Model 94, 30-30, and didn't require any machining. Two removable threaded plugs and it screws right on. My only regret is that it doesn't have knobs to make the adjustments. Since this is a hunting rifle, that issue doesn't really matter. A great overall value.

    I used the "FP" receiver sights in the past, but I really like the simplicity of the "5D". It has been my experience that once you have it sighted in with a paticular load you will not need to adjust it (why pay more when the "5D" will fit the bill). I am in my 50's and I shoot better, or at least as good, with a receiver sight than with a scope. I hunt with lever-actions and a scope takes away the advantage that a lever-action gives over a bolt-gun. I also hunt in the Pacific Northwest and it rains here alot, never had a receiver (peep) sight fog over, collect dirt and dust, need lens caps, or fill up with snow. The Williams Receiver Sights are the way to go--rugged, dependable, a great value for the money.

    I bought this for my Winchester Model 94 (Pre-64) 30-30 rifle. It fit perfectly using existing holes on the left side of the receiver. Much easier to use than traditional iron sights. Great, easy to install product.

    Purchased this product on sale last year and installed it on a Marlin 444. I was impressed with its performance once the adjustments were done. It seems to hold well and did not have to do any adjustments to the front site, unlike another product which cost over $70. I purchased two more for my 1894C and Winchester Legacy, both in 357/38 SPL. Took about 10 minutes to install, no drilling or filing needed. The sight mounts on the side of the receiver, unlike the one for the newer 1894 models. It allows target acquisition faster than a scope, and I can hit the 2 foot diameter gong at over 200 yards on top of the hill.

    I have used the 5D receiver sight on several different rifles and have also used the more expensive click adjustable FP. I actually prefer the 5D because of its compactness, simplicity, and durability.

    When I installed the sight I adjusted it so the front and rear sight were in view and aligned. When I took it to the range I set up a paper plate at 25yds with paper all around it expecting to have to make a lot of adjustments. The first shot was dead center. After the second shot I could not see any bullet hole so got out the binoculars. One ragged hole with two shots. The gun is a Marlin 336 and I was shooting cast loads. The sight is very easy to install and use. If you want to shoot targets get the smaller aperture. If you want a ghost ring sight just unscrew the aperture included. The aperture included is a good compromise between the two.
