I got this to replace one from a competitor that the motor burned out on after 3 years of use. This bowl is deeper, it runs quieter and it was a snap putting it together. Great product - I'm sure the shells will be quite happy, too!

I ordered this tumbler to tumble pistol brass. It works great!! It works great if you use about 2/3 full of media and about 100-150 cases of brass. With this amount it seems to do the best job. I had no problems assembling it and had it all together and plugged in about in five minutes. Recommend highly!

Like Chris and Dave below, I've tumbled everything from 38's to 375's, and the key is finding the correct case/media ratio. I tumble every caliber separately and after a while, even those old, range pick-up's look good. I've recently gotten some ceramic media for straight wall pistol cases and found that does a great job, but DO NOT use with bottle neck cases, as the ceramic media will clog every case and you will ruin them getting the media out. Over all a great tumbler for the money. Even better on sale!

I am new to reloading but I have been saving range brass for 5 years. I bought this with a bag of walnut media from midway. 1. Yes it does feel cheap. Big deal. It cleans brass. 2. I cannot comment on longevity. I have only used it for 15 hours. So far so good. 3. Easy to put together. My first batch was some very dirty range brass with walnut media. I put about 200 9mm cases in and filled it %60-%70 with the media. in about 2 hours the cases looked better than factory loaded ammo brass. With the first 15 hours I have used it I have realized that the more media and the less brass you use, the faster it cleans. I have about %25 of my brass sparkling and have only added about a pound or two of media. With the right mixture it does "vortex" as the other user posted. Bottom line is it is cheap, cleans brass wonderfully, and has a warranty. I don’t see where you lose. There is an in line switch on this model as well. and learn from my mistake and GET THE MEDIA SEPARATOR!

This tumbler is a fantastic deal. I used to have a large commercial tumbler and this tumbler does just as good or better of a job polishing cases. The action the tumbler produces polishes the cases quickly and leaves a great finish on the cases. If a smaller tumbler is what you are looking for, don't hesitate buying this tumbler. I also purchased the tumbler media and it works great with this tumbler. For the price, this tumbler is the best deal going. If you want to tumble large amounts at one time, buy a larger tumbler. For the average re-loader, this tumbler should be all you need.

Another great FA product. I have had this new style unit for several months. Have polished over 8000 pieces of rifle brass in walnut and the same amount in cob. Fast, durable and the clear lid is a plus. As far as getting your money's worth in a product today, this product is under priced! No complaints and I recommend that every hand loader get one or even two of these.

Wow, there are a ton of reviews on this product and a lot of conflicting stories. I just received this tumbler a few days ago and have been running it nonstop with real nasty outdoor range brass, the kind that almost looks black. I'm using crushed walnut and a brass polishing compound. At first I dumped in about 1000 cases of 45 ACP but that really overloaded the tumbler and the brass didn't really tumble at all. So I reduced my load to about 200 rounds and reduced my walnut to about 1/2 tank and now it tumbles great. Some people were saying that it doesn't tumble, but the one I have creates a big funnel vortex in the middle, in fact the funnel of media/brass is so large that the threaded stud in the middle of the tumbler totally is free of media all the way to the bottom of the tumbler! It has been taking me some experimentation to get the media/brass ratio just right. It does make my brass look brand new! As far as noise is concerned, my tumbler is about as loud as a large fan, probably sounds more like a swamp cooler than anything. If the lid is not tight it makes quite a racket. I imagine if you don't properly tighten the base to the bottom it would be loud as well. Don't tighten too much or you'd probably break the plastic bowl. Putting it together is simple, there are three nut/bolt/washer combos to hold the base and one threaded rod that goes in the middle of the bowl to hold the top on. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver. All the holes lined up real nice the first time for me, not like some reviews below. Also, read all the reviews below if you buy this. If the motor quits, check the repair suggestions below (electrical connection repair). I love the fact that Midway will replace or exchange their items with no hassles. This is a no risk situation for me. Also, it seems there are several models out there with longer/shorter cords etc. It would seem that they are continually improving their models. Also I'm sure the amount of brass you can put in this tumbler is dependent upon the type of brass you are using. You could probably use twice or three times the amount of 9mm compared to 45 ACP, or maybe half that with 45-70 or a big rifle cartridge. Overall I'm very happy with my new tumbler!

Great tumbler! Is noisy, but I have a small work shop. Has been running a little over an hour with corn cob media on really nasty 8mm brass. The brass is looking really good now and will look much better after a few hours. For the low price you can't go wrong. Easy to put together. Note: If you have a problem with screws, hold in your lap, tilt on side and line them up with a small needle and start the screw.

Here is the skinny. I am a jeweler. I also reload, but I have never cleaned a case. I still have not. I do casting, and fabrication. I use the tumbler for that purpose. I run 3mm ceramic beads and burnishing compound. It is great! I run it all day long varying between silver, and karat gold. It is quiet, and I can put my hand into the barrel while it is on and recover small parts without shutting the unit down. So far, I have run silver chains, large bracelets, and karat gold castings. Walnut media does not work with the format I use. It burnishes and makes dull. I have tried adding cerium oxide with no luck. Ceramic does the trick. It is quiet, gentle and effective. Ceramic beads last as long as stainless shot and does not seem to wear the barrel. I would not do lapidary in the unit. The corundum grit would be too aggressive to the barrel. Turquoise however and malachite does polish well when in the bracelet. I might get another for the 06 brass I reload. It is sure quiet enough. Doc

The directions to assemble the tumbler were clear and simple, and assembly took only a matter of minutes. It runs very quiet with the proper ratio of cases to media (I originally put too many cases in, causing a lot of metal-on-metal noise from them clinking together -- removing some of the cases makes it very quiet indeed). It looks to be well-built and durable. The in-line power switch is nice, and looking through the clear lid into the bowl makes it very easy to check on progress -- the photograph makes it look like there are holes in the lid, but the lid is a solid, textured piece of clear plastic, and there are no holes to let out dust. For the price, you won't find a better tumbler.

I have had my Frankford tumbler for over a year now. Don't understand why most people indicated that the are required to tumble their brass over 5 to 8 hours. I have yet to tumble my brass over an hour and it comes out looking great. I use the Frankford case polish and run about 200 cases at a time with corn cob media. Perhaps they have tightened the motor to the bowl too tight and/or they are not running the tumbler on concrete as the directions indicate.

I purchased this tumbler a couple of months ago. I have both the older and this newer version. The newer version is more open at the top which is nice for pouring in media. I've now worked the machine through 10,000 casings using it many days and nights. It took the workout with out the slightest problem. Great tumbler and highly recommended. Casings are very bright. I've had the very expensive tumblers that were unable to take the day and night rigors of doing so many casings. This is a great tumbler and simple to put together.

The new Frankford tumbler arrived and was put together with no problems. It really works great. Only problem, the bowls from the 1292 do not fit the new tumbler. In the past I have used different bowls for different projects such as moly coating bullets. Now I have bowls that I have no use for except maybe storage. Just added this comment so anyone ordering will realize that the 1292 bowls won't work with the new tumbler.

I use the flitz additive to great success, which really makes them efficient. I would not hesitate to buy again or suggest to a friend.

This tumbler has some great features. The clear lid is great, very quiet for the most part and the price is good. As others mentioned, it does create a vortex, moving the brass from the outside to the inside then down to the bottom. I noticed that the brass would rattle a little bit as it passed by the threaded rod down the center of the bowl. What I did to remedy this is I took off the jam nut at the bottom of the threaded rod and instead used some thread locker to hold the rod in the bowl. Then I slid on a short piece of 5/16 ID vinyl hose, just long enough to cover the threaded rod inside the bowl. After that there is no exposed metal inside the bowl to rattle against the brass. Even with that minor issue I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

I have had as many as 100 30-06 cases in it at once. This is the first one I have ever owned, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but the brass goes in dirty and comes out clean, so that's good enough for me.

I ordered this FA tumbler to share the load with my old (over 10 years now) Midway 1292. It assembled just fine, I cannot see how others had so much trouble putting it together. I have used it now for about 2 months and after about 3000+ rounds of .40S&W and .45ACP and it works like it supposed to. The FA is little noisy compared to the 1292, and it seems to take a little longer to get the cases as clean as the 1292 but it works well. I run it about 8 hours at a time and no problems so far. My only gripe would be that it takes longer to get the same results my 1292. For the price, it is a great deal for light/moderate reloading.

After about 18 months using the my old style FA tumbler the motor gave out, and needed a replacement.Purchased the new FA Quick-N-EZ, Assembled together without any problems loaded it up with brass and media and turned it on. All it did was rotated the brass in a slow circle no tumbling action. To get the best performance out of this machine, first load the brass in the bowl turn on the tumbler and then add your media, less media results in a faster agitation. As an extra I made a wooden padel with several holes drilled across the face, and screwed it down the center shaft set at a height that still allows the brass to pass under. Now the media passes above, through and under the padel faster while slowing the brass, its this action of moving the media faster across the brass will reduce cleaning time.

She said it didnt matter just send it back with a note saying what happend. Well I sent it in and in 5 working days later I had a brand new one on my door step. Great customer service and it's nice to see a manufacturer stand behind their product. Nice job Frankford!

I had mine for about 10 months, 1500 cases cleaned. I'd have given it a 'five' if the motor hadn't burned out -- inexpensive and very effective, especially for a small-time reloader. I'd have given it a 'two' if the customer service after reporting the motor burning out hadn't been so spectacular. As another reviewer reports, within a matter of days after sending it off, I had a brand new one. You can shop with confidence from MidwayUSA.

I have three of these in operation. Assembled quickly with no issues. The newer ones came with a 3 foot power cord, not the 6 foot one as on previous models. (Lost a star on that count.) Have had motor issues confined to the separation of the power wire from the spade connector attached to the motor. Happened on two of the three tumblers. Easy fix for me. All now going strong with moderate loads of brass using corn and walnut media plus walnut impregnated with orange oil. I will buy another (with an extension cord to boot) when the need arises.

I "Loctited" the center stud in place and omitted the locking nut. I then covered the threads with a piece of heat shrink tubing. That way you won't have the hard steel threads scratch your brass.

I bought the package deal with some other reloading gear and as soon as I got it set it up plugged it in and started. Shipping was very fast. 10 Minutes after I got it and set it up it failed the motor just died... So why 4 stars. MIDWAY customer service was excellent and I got a replacement in days set that one up and has worked like a charm, dirty cases from all caliber I have been shooting have come out pristine. I have had zero issue with the replacement. It's a machine and one "dud" got by. I can accept that. It works great and CS was great and I am very happy with the package deal (tumbler, media, separator, bucket & polish), and the end product. Worth every penny

Great product for the $$. Easy to assemble, no problem with alignment, just attach the bowl and use a screwdriver to turn the bolts and tighten as they are difficult to turn by hand. Works well, relatively quiet and stayed in place on my bench. Would have been a 5 star but it didn't come with any directions, warranty or service information.

Follow up review - After three months, and maybe a week out of that time tumbling brass, the tumbler stopped. I unplugged it, took off the bottom plate and learned that the ground wire quick connector had vibrated loose. The polymer frame tumbler seemed to be well insulated, so I doubt that was a big safety issue. The tumbler had stopped because one of the 120 VAC wires had vibrated out of the quick connect terminal. A proper crimp with a quality $140 crimper would have prevented this. The crimp looked like it was made with a $5 crimper. I had the tool and quality Amp connectors, so I replaced the connector. I also cable tied the wires much better than the one cable tie that was originally used which wasn't sufficient for the high vibration environment. Unfortunately, I didn't secure the motor properly when reinstalling it and it soon vibrated loose and burned up. Midway is still hanging in there with me, even though this tumbler was sent for free to replace a 13 year old tumbler that I never imagined would be replaced even though it had a lifetime warranty I had long ago forgotten. Midway told me I should send this tumbler back and they'd replace it for free. Wow! When I get the new tumbler, I think I'll open it up and check the connections and torque the screws and nuts and cable tie the wires to eliminate future vibration problems, now that I know what I'm doing. A little more attention to detail and this is a very good tumbler. The parts are of good quality. Get the labor assembly issues resolved and it's a great value.

If it has a draw back it would be the short power cord. It needs to be about 2-3 ft. longer, and I am ordering another one very soon.

I was torn between 3 stars and 4. The price settled the debate. Set up and assembly was quick and easy, all but the shaking required to line up the bowl nuts with the screws. I didn't see where drilling holes and re-engineering the design was required to put it together that some mentioned. I have used the "old" FA tumbler that I borrowed and aside from the bowl design I see little difference in them, except the price. Holds a great volume of media, deciding how much to obtain optimum agitation takes a little work. Add too much and it doesn't move the brass well, too little and you can't add much brass... I don't anticipate cleaning large volumes all the time so this unit should last me quite a while. (I used the treated FA walnut media and it did a great job on 100 pcs of 40 S&W brass)

After the motor burned up, I replaced my Frankford Arsenal tumbler I purchased 3 years ago with this model. I don't think it works as fast as the old one. I like to leave brass in 18 to 20 hours to get the "like new" look. I've used it on 30-06 down to 9mm and have never had any problems. I just ordered another one from Midway this evening to rotate them so as not to burn the motor up again prematurely. The price is right, results good.

I just received my Midway order that included two of the new Frankford Arsenal case tumblers. I bought one so that my wife can use one for rock polishing, and so that I will have a second tumbler for my black powder cases. There was an assembly problem right away. The three holes in the mounting areas of the bowl did not quite align with the holes in the mating protrusions of the base. These mounting areas of the bowl have an upward bulge (they are not flush with the rest of the bowl base) and prevent the bowl and base from coming together for good hole alignment. I simply drilled the holes a bit oversize to fix the problem. One could file the mounting areas of the bowl flush and that would also fix the trouble. One other note: The base of this tumbler is considerably lighter than my old orange Lyman tumbler, and it has a tendency to walk around the floor. Otherwise the tumbler does what tumblers are supposed to do - I like the large bowl capacity.

I've had my polisher for over a year now. It worked fine until the other day when I went to turn it off after letting it run during the night and all was silent. I found a broken wire where it is crimped onto a connector. I stripped the wire and crimped a new one on and it worked like new again. A lot of the burned motors others are seeing may just be something simple like this. I also put a piece of plastic tubing around the threaded rod to prevent it from contacting the brass. Still a good product and a good value.

This is a great case tumbler it is a little loud but not bad enough that it drives you nuts while doing something in the area. It works great, I leave it running in the garage over night with no issues, slightly smaller cases will get stuck in the necks of cases slightly larger. The only issue I've had is with an electrical crimp on connector inside the unit, the wire severed from the connector. It was an easy fix especially if you have the parts handy. 1. unplug unit 2. remove tub 3. flip unit over and remove the 3 rubber feet with screws in them. 4. remove metal bottom (usually flipping it right side up will cause it to fall) 5. there should be three wires coming from the power cord (green, white, black) check to make sure all three are connected to the connectors properly and secured to the receiving end of the connector to their corresponding color. This easy fix will save you and RMA. the connectors are the large blue ones that you can pick up at any Home Depot.

The Frankford 8 hours or more to the the same job.

I bought this unit back in February 2009. Was easy to assemble with basic hand tools. Over the last 7 months my use would have to be called light to medium. During this time it tumbled my brass very well, but the unit had become increasingly noisier over time. I now have had to resort to removing the bottom cover and spinning the cooling fan on the motor by hand to get the motor to run. Contacted FA two days ago and they advised they will be sending me a new replacement unit. Hopefully this is just an isolated incident since this is not typically in line with the quality of other FA products I own. Only suggestion I would offer to the manufacturer is maybe installing a beefier motor. Even with all this I still feel this unit is a good value for the money.

I have been using this tumbler for the last six months. I cannot gripe about the price but I was disappointed to find that you cannot clean very many cases at once with this setup. What ever happened to the MIDWAY 1292 tumblers? I have one that's well over 10 years old and it still runs strong! I ordered the FA hoping it would perform as well but unfortunately it does not. Assembly was not as bad as some have made it out to be, and overall it seems like a nice rig, but it just don't shake 'em up like the old 1292! The FA is also very noisy! I think next time I will buy a Lyman or a Hornady and save this one for small chores, or household cleaning tasks.

Brass and media simply "walk" around in circles. I'm thinking about gluing some fins inside to keep this from happening- to try and force things to tumble more.

This tumbler does a good job. It cleans my brass very well as long as you use quality media (i.e. Lyman turbo media) and don't overload the unit. Less quality media will still clean your brass - it will just take longer. I started using this unit back in 2007 and have had it quit on me three times. All three times, the problem was with the factory installed spade lugs. The wire had come out of the lug the first two times(subpar crimp) and the wire broke at the lug on the third failure. Although I shouldn't have to, I know that I will have to modify the wiring or it is going to fail again in time. I believe that this was an early design problem and hope that it has been addressed by this time. I also have a Midway 1292 unit that I have had since around 2000 and have not had a bit of trouble from it.

I purchased one of these tumblers about six months ago. While reloading some .40 S&W ammunition and waiting for some brass to clean in this tumbler, the motor quit. I checked it out and couldn't visually see any problems. It was also quite loud. The tumbling action is more of a washing machine action, but given enough time in Walnut media, will come clean nonetheless. I emailed MidwayUSA's customer support on a weekend and within 24 hours I received a reply stating that another tumbler would be shipped free of charge. WOW! I've never gotten better customer support from any place of business. I expected all kinds of hassle with a warranty and how it would be fixed or where I should ship it to. I didn't have to do anything but notify them. I've continued doing business with MidwayUSA because I was pleased with many aspects of my orders, but now that I've had to experience their customer support first hand, I am even more pleased. As for the new tumbler I received, it is thus far doing great. It is very quiet compared to the last tumbler and seems much more powerful. I wonder if the last tumbler was off a different line, from a different factory, etc. because it didn't perform anything like the new one does. The cases seem to become clean in less time.

Slower, case volume sensitive, and it dosen't move the media well. It mostly goes around in a circle. The old model works better moving the cases/media at a quick pace and in up and over movement.

I have a Midway 1292 tumbler that I have been using since early 98 and a FA (basically same design) since 03. Both still running like a champ. Earlier this year I added one of the new FA's with the re-designed bowl and really haven't been satisfied with it. As you know the older bowls has a round barrel shape to them, where as the new ones have more of a straighter vertical wall. The older bowls were pretty much fool proof, it didn't take fooling around to get them to work properly. The new bowl seems to be a lot more finicky as to the right media/brass ratio to achieve the horizontal vortex rotation of the brass. I'm also finding about a 25% reduction in brass capacity with the new bowl. I've tried all sorts of different media to brass combinations. The brass I've been working with the most is 9mm and .40 S&W. I wish the older style was still available.

The tumbler worked fine early on but you could hear the motor failing over time (it got louder). Unfortunately, I thought it was just a "lemon" and ordered another one. However, the second one only lasted eight weeks. The bowl cracked at the base, as well as the motor began to get very loud (it was ready to fail). The best part is Midway's no hassle return policy. Midway is the best. I am upgrading to a Lyman tumbler with media separator. Hopefully it is a better product. I won't go cheap again.

Extremely loud- we don't have carpet in my house and that may have contributed to the noise, but I can stand in one end of the house and hear the tumbler on the other. My main complaint is in the bowl design-there is no center section (think Bundt pan) like most other tumblers, and therefore the brass continually gets beat up on the threaded rod that holds the lid in place. I never could get my brass as clean and polished as my buddy- who uses Lyman and Hornady tumblers.

I feel lucky that mine lasted more than a few hours, after reading the other reviews here. Unfortunately the bowl is made of such thin plastic that the brass wore through it after a few months. Looking at other's reviews I won't even invest in another bowl to replace it. Get a Dillon. Dillon works better, quicker and quieter than any of the others and it has more capacity. I've tumbled about 250,000 rounds through the Dillon and it still works as new. The bowl isn't even showing signs of wear. DILLON DILLON DILLON! It's a shame Midway does not carry their products, because I have found they are by far and away the best manufacturer in the reloading industry.

I recently sent back a Midway polisher that I had for about five years. It was replaced with this model. It started out like many others have claimed, little noise and cleaned great. In about two weeks it became very loud when in use and also a gray powder substance showed up on the polishers gray base. I was afraid that the polisher was going to catch fire. Now keep in mind I do use my polisher for long periods of time. Like overnight and all day long. The previous Midway polisher handled this just fine. I contacted Midway and they again accepted it back for replacement. I replaced it with a Lyman Turbo 1200. I paid the difference in cost and it has done great. If you plan on polishing for long periods of time I would recommend the Lyman.

Is an improvement over my ancient tumbler but I could not give it a high rating. Right out of the box it would not work. Upon inspection I found that the made in China on off switch was the culprit. If I switched it on and off enough it would come on and stay on. Once on it seemed to work fine. There was no mention as to whether media was included or not, some include it and some don't you have to buy it and then see what you get.

It requires work with a file or Dremel to fit the bowl to the base. Pretty poor product that has to be worked on by the customer before it will do what it's supposed to do. I had to cut four notches in the base of the rim of the bowl for it to fit around the screw heads on the vibrating base. Only reason it got a two star instead of a one star is because it actually worked once the above modification was made.

I've gone through 2 of these units. They work fine when new but are NOT very durable over the long haul. The problem is with the bearing assembly. There is a rubber grommet/sleeve between the bearings and the race which wears/fails from the vibration over time. The armature then starts to rub on the coil until the two seize in the magnetic field. This was the failure mode on both units. Replacement of this sleeve would be an easy PM item but that parts are not available. (I called and asked.) The unit would probably serve fine for low volume use, but if you need something for higher volume usage, I would NOT recommend it. Midway replaced the 1st one even through it was slightly past the one year guarantee period, but the relatively short life is something I'd just as soon not have to worry about.

When I contacted MidwayUSA and told them my FA tumbler motor died, they replaced it under warranty. But they replaced it with this tumbler. I hate it. It has a washing machine tumbling action (stuff just spins around the bowl - whoopee) and after two hours the brass wasn't even clean. Tried with a different bunch of brass and some Dillon case cleaner, and the brass wasn't even close to what the old tumbler did. Found out if you put the lid on and tighten the lid down, it greatly hampers the tumbling action. Loosen the lid to get max vibration, then the clear plastic lid sounds like a bum rooting in a trash can of aluminum cans. So if you want a new tumbler that makes a lot of noise, doesn’t clean brass even when you use case cleaner, get this one. Oh-yeah did I tell you the power cord is like three feet long! But it has a switch on it. I want my old tumbler back from MidwayUSA and I'll put a new motor in it.

Made in China, knew it when I unpacked it and saw the build quality, or lack of quality. It ran a couple hours, then failed. Midway did refund after I sent it back & exchanged for the Lyman. You get LESS even than you paid for with this one

Purchased this item in March of 08. Only ran 500 rounds of .308 since and the motor has already failed. So far, Midway has been wonderful to deal with. I'm trying to decide what tumbler to trust now????????

I bought this tumbler just over a year ago. I have used it about 10 times, and I clean some large brass. .338 Lapua Mag., but I bet I have never put more than 100 pieces in at a time and the motor has already failed. Now I have let it run for 5 or 6 hours, but would you call that excessive? I don't think so! I will not buy this brand again.

My son bought one a year ago and it works great. So I bought one in March 09, it worked well for about three weeks then the motor got very loud and on the fourth week it died. I returned it to Battenfeld Technologies Inc. It took them eight weeks to replace it. They were waiting for new motors from China. The new unit I received six days ago is already very loud and will hardly move the media. It's ready to die. More Chinese Junk.. Save your Money

This tumbler worked great till it broke. I bought it in July of 08 and after moderate use, it would not turn on and would only make a humming noise. I took it apart to find that the black power supply wire next to the motor had completely rubbed through and was severed. Even after stripping and re-crimping the wire it was still the same. I called Midway customer service today and was told sorry, only a one year warranty. Lesson learned.

Noisy, very very noisy! Tumbling action is nothing special. Very thin walls. Only nice thing I can say is it has an in-line on/off switch. Short cord. Oh, and did I mention it is incredibly LOUD?

I bought this tumbler 2-3 years ago and have used it a substantial amount of time but not excessively. It quit two days ago. I am very disappointed in this tumblers longevity. I had a Lyman 600 that lasted 12-15 years. Also, the bare threaded post in the bucket is not a good design - I wrapped it in duct tape to protect the cases. The tumbler is also loud.

At first I thought, "Wow, what a great and affordable tumbler." Now after a year and a half, I can say it's not fit for duty. It's on it's last leg and the motor is all but burned out. I'm not a super reloader, but anyone wishing to tumble more than a two thousand rounds a year aught to look elsewhere.

Have had this product for a little over a year. During this time the tumbler did a decent job cleaning brass. In the first 6 months I had the tumbler one of the Motor wires broke at the connector, no real big thing I crimp another terminal on and it was up and running. Now like others have said the Motor went out. Contacted midway and they were helpful informing me that the tumbler only had a year’s warranty and they had no access to spare parts. So I contacted Frankford asking if they could sell me another Motor, It has been 2 weeks still have not heard from them. If you get one of these tumblers do not expect them to last much more than a year. It is worth the extra money to get a better tumbler like the Lyman or RCBS.

The Franklin Arsenal tumbler was shipped to me as a replacement for a worn out Midway branded tumbler (since discontinued). The original Midway tumbler lasted at least 5 years and many 10s of thousands of rounds of pistol brass. The Franklin tumbler was very slow (took more than a day to polish the brass) and burned out after less than a month of use and less than 1000 rounds of .45 brass. I could have replaced it under warranty, but it worked so poorly I declined. I bit the bullet and spent the money on the small Dillon tumbler and was thrilled with the performance. It does a better job in 3 hours than the Franklin Arsenal one did overnight, and it is MUCH quieter to boot. Don't waste your money on this product.

This is a disappointing item. I ordered it based on the reps advice that it would be a recommended replacement for my 1292, but it is not even close to half as well constructed. Media does not agitate. I got a credit, and manager told me to throw it away. I did.

Purchased with high expectations and was completely shocked when it would not assemble, in order to put it together I needed to cut four notches in the base of bowl for clearance over the screw heads. The motor was also dead, this is a poor product and I would not recommend it.

Absolutely terrible tumber, compared to others like a Lyman. It really doesn't tumble. Basically just stirs the media around in a circle. Sent it back immediately and bought another Lyman.

This is the first tumbler that I ordered to replace an old Midway brand that had been rebuilt several times. The switch went out after about the third use, but I just used it by plugging and un-plugging it from the wall. By about the 10th use it died. I ordered a RCBS sidewinder - see comments there.

I purchased this product initially due to my satisfaction with Frankford Arsenal products in the past, and the excellent price. The tumbler ran great for 3 months with about 40 hours of operating time when the motor just quit. I contacted Frankford Arsenal, and they advised that if I shipped it to them, they would replace or repair it. Great! Meantime, I was preparing for a prairie dog shoot, and needed a tumbler immediately. I decided that a second tumbler may not be a bad thing to have, and I placed another order to Midway. I also decided that an occasional bad apple may get out of the factory, and I shouldn't hold it against Frankford Arsenal based on one experience. I ordered another model while the original was off to be fixed. The second one lasted one day, with less than seven hours of operating time. Same problem with the motor quitting. I contacted Midway moments ago, and they advised that they will exchange it. I will likely be looking at other tumblers in the future.

I purchased this to replace Midway 1292 Tumbler that died after many years of Service. Assembly was a nightmare until I Dremeled out clearance for four screw heads in base. Then Motor lasted for less than 10 hours. Wish they would bring back 1292.

A lot of good reviews on this tumbler so maybe I got the bad one in the batch. Purchased the end of Nov. but didn't use it until Feb. Set up was easy but agitation was very weak from the set up and barely moved the media around (about 2/3 full of media). I was just cleaning a few rifle cartridge cases ( 20 ) while working up some Varmint loads with a new bullet. Let it run about 3 hours the first time. The second time I used it, again cleaning the same 20, 243 cases it just quit after about 30 minutes. Guess the motor just burned out. I had decided to try this tumbler because it was inexpensive and many of the reviews were very positive. I know that FA would replace it if I returned it but it's about an hour's drive to a packaging, shipping place from here in the mountains where I live and the costs would just nullify the return. I load a lot of handgun and rifle cases in the warmer months and have used Lyman tumblers for many years. My last one worked hard and well for 14 years. Think I'll go back to Lyman.

I am experiencing a similar problem of the motor burning out after little use as some of the other people that have commented on this product. I am not planning on buying another one of these as the replacement.

I bought one of these 2 or 3 years ago. Used it for about 48 hours back then, worked great. Pulled it out and plugged it in a few days ago and it ran about an hour then died. I checked it out carefully and found that it was a motor failure that I could not fix. From the reviews I am reading, I am not surprised. MidwayUSA is great, my tumbler was not!

Another example of "you get what you pay for". Bought one, used it what I consider lightly and the motor quit. Called Midway and they would not warranty the machine and had no replacement motors that I could buy. Midway Note: This tumbler is warranted 1 year from purchase date.
