Fantastic tool for the price. I bought two... one for home and one for the range bag. Repeatability is right on!! Machining of parts is top notch. Great carrying case. You don't need to spend more. I use it in loading .223, 6BR, 6PPC and .308. Buy with confidence.

This has worked really well for me since I've had it. I've used it on about 300 shells and I measure every shell I load. I check the zero about every 10-20 shells and it is almost always right on. If it is off it is only off by .0005. I think it is a good product and would recommend.

Indispensable for efficient reloading. Only US standard measurements (inches) are usually required for reloading but you can toggle to metric with just click of a button. Allows length/width measurement, inner diameter measurement, and depth measurement. A retention screw allows you to lock the caliper at a selected length. Excellent value.

This is a great product. For years I struggled with my Dad's old set where you had to read where the marks lined up. With older eyes I figured I would treat myself. I'm planning to get 2 more sets for gifts. I'd also like to see if the battery in the tool works this time. No big deal as the spare included worked just fine. I bought a couple spare batteries to have on hand if needed - never want to go back to the old way!

Nice quality construction and stainless steel, everything you need. Zeroing, inch vs. mm toggle, thumb-wheel for micro adjustment, uses electronic/capacitive method of measuring, not mechanical mechanism; Even has data port under removable cover above battery compartment for feeding measurements to PC or printer (#8. "Output connector" on Spec sheet). Unfortunately it uses a proprietary cable connector that uses what looks like something similar to a modular phone jack but neither included Spec Sheet nor FrankfordArsenal.com web-site has any info on needed cable, or how we could make one....interesting feature I'd like to see more info on but, regardless, can't go wrong with this one.

This has been a good investment in my opinion. Very accurate when compared with my Starrett Dial Calipers. Battery that came with caliper is awesome, because it is still lasting for me. Been 2 or 3 years now. No rust on calipers anywhere. Pretty decent storage box too. GET ONE, or TWO, IF you need one. You won't regret it, for the price!

Purchased to measure group sizes. Works very well. It is very accurate and repeatable. Very easy to use and to zero. It comes with a very sturdy case and extra battery as well. Large LCD display and being made of metal, it feels very solid and reliable. At this price it is a steal and comparable/equal to digital calipers costing 3X more. Very happy with purchase and no regrets. I fully recommend this product.

What a value!!! Forget the analog calipers. Even with young eyes, they require more concentration to ensure you are reading everything correctly. These electronic digital calipers are more precise, easy to read, simple to calibrate. They measure in mm or inches. Quality throughout. I'll never use my analog calipers again.

For the price of this caliper I feel that I got a very good deal. This unit is not a very expensive caliper and that is the how I rate it. For what the caliper is it is a heck of a good value and gets 5 stars. It turns on, measures accurately, has a large read out and seems to be made sturdy enough for my casual usage. If I were going to be using a caliper more often than once or twice a week. I might think about purchasing a more expensive unit but I’m not. My tip is to remove the battery when not in use so the battery does not drain.

Yes, I definately love these calipers. I've just started reloading and this is my first time ever using a set of calipers. They are so easy to use and the measurements are accurate. If I take the same measurement 10 times I get 10 exact same results. I love it, for a novice that never used a set of calipers before, these things are idiot proof and that's just what I was looking for. They are really well built and solid and come in a nice padded case. Well worth the money.

Very well made. Holds up well and measures to .5/1000" reliably. Very little flex in the calipers gives you very consistent measures. Being able to rezero it makes it very easy to measure the difference between two things over dial calipers.

Excellent scale, it includes all the features as advertised and exalted in other prior reviews. Perhaps the product has been on-the-shelf for a while or sitting on a container ship off-shore, because at one point the company made a command decision to add an additional second 1.55 volt battery. The instructions which I received did not clearly indicate or show how to install the battery, and I looked around and saw some small screws and a blue cover that seemed practically seamless. Just to be safe, as I do not like to take apart new delicate items, even low cost ones, and break-em or not be able to put them back together again and still working properly. I looked to Battenfeld Technologies website and downloaded and printed the more complete instruction sheet. I am glad that I did not break out the screw driver, pliers and hammer. Another great product from Battenfeld and Midway!

I've only had this caliper for a couple of weeks, and so far I'm very satisfied with it. It holds zero well and measures accurately. And the price is definitely right. Looking at the various reasonably priced digital calipers available here at MidwayUSA (RCBS, S&W, Lyman, and Frankford Arsenal), they all appear to be virtually identical. With the lone exception being the Lyman which has an additional "hold" button. I don't know for sure, but I would be quite surprised if they weren't all made by the same company.

A very high quality and beautifully constructed instrument. I checked it against my Frankford Arsenal dial caliper, and the comparison proved accurate (the two were consistent). But what REALLY impressed me was the DIAL caliper. Measuring some .45 ACPs loaded with 200 gr. Rainier plated SWCs, the electronic digital caliper read 1.212". But with the dial caliper, the needle rested in the space between 1.212 and 1.213, meaning it was measuring the same round at 1.2125" (or thereabout). That's down to the one ten thousandth of an inch, and Brother, that's precise!

I have this same caliper, but under a different brand name. I find it to be very accurate. One thing I wish it had is an "Auto-Off" feature in order to save the battery life. One day I forgot to turn it off, and it stayed on for about 2 days. I used it a few more times, then the battery died. Now that I've learned from that lesson, the battery life is great...just remember to turn it off! At least you can tell when the battery is low - when the display starts to blink.

Received my Frankford Arsenal Electronic 6" Caliper yesterday. Only one small problem...it came with severely corroded batteries. Both the one in the unit and the spare one...the one in the unit was fairly easy to clean up and no damage was done to the unit. However I did not know that the spare battery was a spare due to the corrosion, had to open up the package it came in and clean up some of the corrosion before I could tell it was a battery. Had to go out and purchase one. It works fine at this time. I checked it against a friend's... who paid over twice what I did and there was no difference in the readings. All in all the unit is worth the price...would recommend.

This caliper does not have a true on/off switch, it is still drawing background current when "off," apparently. I take the battery out between uses, which is an unhandy thing to have to do. It comes with a spare battery, which is good, because the one that was in it was nearly dead when I first tried to use the caliper. With an old-fashioned dial caliper you have to think a bit, but there are no dead batteries when you need to use it.

Seems to be very accurate for me. Gives me the same measurement time after time when measuring oal on the same shell. Has to be re-zeroed once in a while though. Came with a spare battery and I had to put that in right away. I used it to measure maybe fifty times in one day and then it sat for around nine months untouched. Next time I used it the battery was almost dead again. I don't know if the batteries that came with it just aren't very good or maybe the battery needs to be taken out when not in use.

I'm going back to my dial caliper and returning this one. Not as good as my plastic digital from General Tool Co.

Positively the worst product I have ever used from Frankford Arsenal. Used it twice and the third time was a charm for it to break. No readout, nothing. Changed the battery and still nothing. Customer service at Frankford Arsenal basically told me that even though it was under the year warranty through them that I was out of luck. Not worth the time or anguish.

It is way out of spec - it measures between 0.005 up to 0.025 less than it's supposed to, that's a huge error rate. Unless my factory ammo is out of spec, every single one.

I have many calipers both digital and analog and this is the only one that I will never use. These would not hold a consistent zero without closing and resetting between each measurement and I had to measure each item 3 times to get the calipers to give 2 consistent readings. New batteries made no difference; I purchased them because they were on sale for a very low price, but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for. I can't even use these in the machine shop for rough measurements as I can not trust them.

The price is excellent but the caliper is not. This caliper is of poor quality. It was very accurate when it was new and working. It often times would not zero. This problem was a chronic problem. I changed batteries, cleaned it, turned it off and on repeatedly while trying to zero it - all to no avail. I have not seen quality problems like this with many of the Franklin products I have purchased.

There are no graduations on the slide so if your battery dies, it's useless. Also, I've been having problems with mine recognizing the battery. I have to keep spacers between the battery and the door to keep pressure on the battery. After sitting for a while, it eventually loses that tension so I have to press down on it with something heavy to get it to work again. It's not even worth the headache of sending it back.

Bought it because it was on sale, figured I couldn't go wrong for that price. I was wrong; very cheaply made, not accurate, electronic read out shorted out 3rd time I used it. Buy Starrett you will have it for a life time. Plus it is made in the USA.
