This is one heck of a press/kit. I had no trouble resizing 7.62 NATO brass. The press feels rock solid. The reloading manual is full of good information. The scale is surprisingly quick, with its magnetic dampening, and travel dampening bracket. The powder measure was a joy to use, though I recommend following the instructions and cleaning it thoroughly with a degreaser. I used an orange cleaner followed by a good rinse and a hairdryer. Make sure you tighten up the lock nut on the handle. I neglected that and it backed out to the point where it pulled out and stripped a few threads. I was able to clean that mess up and get it in there, though I doubt it will ever come out again. This was my first RCBS product, and I am very impressed.

Top quality equipment from a manufacturer that really stands behind its products. My Rock Chucker press is 20 years old and shows no sign of wear or age. My Uniflow powder measure throws charges that are so uniform I can't measure the difference from one charge to the next.

This is a great kit for all kinds of reloaders. Great for beginners and there isn't much more to add to make the advanced reloader happy. Be careful when seating primers, you do not have to squeeze the handle of the hand primer all the way, you will only smash the primer. Do yourself a favor and spring for a digital powder scale, the one that comes with the kit is good but time consuming and sometimes frustrating wating for it to settle.

This is the first press kit I've owned and it works great. From handloading I got my groups @ 200 yards from 3.5" down to 0.6". Handloading is worth it. I'll give you my thoughts on each item. Rock Chucker IV Press- I love it, works great only a few things the bother me. First I wish the anchoring plate was a little longer, but that's just me. Second every now and then when removing primers it ejects it out the front instead of the rear. Hasn't happened with me rifle load (7mm-08) but it happens about every 10 cases on my pistol load (.40 S&W). 505 scale- great scale, but you have to check the zero more often than I would like. You zero the scale by twisting the base of the scale which it sits on and a little movement of the scale throws it off, this could have been eliminated but a locker nut that they didn't put on. Uniflow Powder Measure- throws within about a grain or two every time. I like it, speeds things up. But make sure you make the charge a little small so you can add to it rather than have to take away. Speer Reloading Manual- lots of great info, make sure you have at least 2 sources when reloading, this is a good one Hand Priming Tool- no problems yet. This thing is a must have. Super fast and easy. Hex key set- nice then threw it in but I stripped the head off the key for the lock nut on the dies on the 3rd die I tightened. Buy a real set. Case loading block- nice to have, holds up to 80 rounds Case lube- works well but the first time I used it the plug cap burst off and lube was everywhere. Very messy, but after all cleaned up it works nice. Funnel- this funnel works well unless you pour a large load quick, then you have to tap and shake to get it to go down Deburring tool- works great on inside and out, no problems

Fantastic kit for getting started in reloading... Comes with everything you need except caliber-specific dies and reloading components (powder, primers, brass, bullets). Rock Chucker press is one of, if not the strongest and smoothest single-stage press on the market. Powder dispenser is consistent, and the included 5-0-5 scale is accurate. Only complaint (as previously mentioned) is the Speer reloading manual. Pick up a copy of the latest edition of the Lyman's reloading manual along with this kit.

Awesome. Everything works great except the powder measure which is generally 1 Gr off with H4350, IMR4064. However, I realize that this is due to the fact that both are cylindrical powders. Just wish kit came with case trimmer.

I bought one of these kits a few years ago and love it! Came highly recommended by a couple friends. I have used to reload 30-06, 38 Special and 357 Mag and now 45 ACP. Pistol rounds are a snap with it Soon I will be reloading 270 Win and 300 Win Mag. The only thing I did not like was the primer system. Took it of the press and bought the hand priming tool which is great. Only difficulty I had was determine how far I was actually seating my rifle bullets as the Speer manual (and others) did not tell me what I needed to know. Otherwise the Speer manual is a good resource, and I also like the Midway Load books as they hold info from several different manufacturers.

In one sentence: You get what you pay for. This is one of the more expensive kits around. I had one and regrettably, had to sell it. The only weak point is the Speer reloading manual. It only has data for Speer bullets, which are not very cheap for shooting handgun ammo at the range. A better manual is the Lyman one, as it has all sorts of very good history and data for all kinds of bullets. Also, you might consider that buying such a heavy-duty press is overkill for your application. Although I appreciated the workmanship, it was like buying industrial grade tools for a residential need. If this is what you want and you can afford it. Don't hesitate to pull the trigger. If you're not going to use it a lot and for many years, you might save some money and get something a bit lighter weight.

If you buy this kit, you're actually getting three great tools. First is the Uniflow Powder Measure. Very consistent with ball and extruded powder. Strongly made and built to last. The other is the hand priming tool. With CCI primer strips, is much easier and faster to use than any hand primer in the market at any price! Then comes the Rock Chucker supreme press. The finest single stage press in the world. Rock solid with a larger opening and more powerful links than the old one. It's an excellent tool for loading long magnums. I use mine for 300 Win Mag and some 22-250 for prairie dogs. Reforming 400 corbon from 45 acp is very easy and light. This kit is IMHO the finest deal for any rifle man /reloader!

I just got into reloading and I have to say that this kit is excellent. I bought it after several people recommended RCBS equipment to me and I'm very happy with it. The only thing is that it doesn't bring everything you need. There are still several small tools that you will need and a trimmer. With out one you will have no way of making your cases the same length. But other that this, you can't go wrong with it and RCBS's customer service is second to none. I'm very happy with RCBS and will buy no other products from now on. Just supplement this kit with a Lyman manual which I have found to be the best around and your good to go.

I started with a Rock Chucker over 25 years ago. In time, I progressed to a multi-stage press. After a while, I got rid of that and have started all over again several months ago. My press of choice this time around? Rock Chucker. Excellent press. If you are not cranking out hundreds and hundreds of pistol rounds, but are more into accuracy and working up loads (then loading to keep your ammunition supply well-stocked), this press is the one to buy. You will never regret buying this. The multi-stage press was good when I wanted to crank out 600 44 magnum rounds an hour (which it would do, once set up properly - A finished Round every six seconds from empty cases to fully loaded rounds). This won't do that, but then I don't need it to do that!

A lot of guys convinced me to buy this kit. I have not been sorry for heeding their advise. I load 7mm-08 and some .243 for varmints. I used factory ammo previously and rolling my own ammo is nice hobby indeed. My groups have shrunk to sub moa by using reduced charges. I have to mention that priming tool in this kit is great. Highly convenient if you use CCI although you need to get the APS loader if you intend to use other brands. But CCI works fine for me! The other great tool is the Uniflo powder measure - well made and consistent to 0.1 grain! Lastly, the Rock Chucker press is very very solid. I think this thing will last for generations. The 5-0-5 scale is a bit hard to get used to so I'm soon getting an RCBS digital scale. Overall, this kit is very good to excellent and worth the dollars spent. I'm an RCBS fan for life!

Great press. Not the best for loading thousands of rounds in one sitting, but excellent quality all the way (although the first weekend I had mine I loaded 900 rounds of pistol ammo and 200 rounds of rifle ammo with ease). Great for people new to reloading and experienced reloaders alike. Only reason I give it 5 stars is that there is not an option for 6 stars.

I bought this kit - recommended by my dad as a great kit for the new/beginner reloader. I was extremely satisfied with all the components of the kit. I did purchase a few a la carte items to round out the kit based on my dad's suggestion as well: - RCBS Manual Case Trimmer - Nosler and Hornady reloading books since I shoot 7mm Rem Mag with NBTs (150gr) and NABs (140gr and 160gr) and also shoot V-Max in 40gr and 55gr in my .223 Rem - Lee Manual primer tool as primary to the included RCBS primer tool - RCBS RangeMaster 750 digital scale - Primer Pocket Cleaner - Flash Hole deburring tool - Neck sizer and full length sizer dies I would highly recommend this kit to anyone.

I can't agree with the 2 reviews about the RCBS equipment being overpriced. My Rockchucker has been on my loading bench for just over 32 years & was the only press I had for the first 15 or 16 years that I reloaded shells. Besides the usuall deer hunting shells for my wife & my rifles, I would reload 2000-4000 45 ACP shells each month, than there was the 10,000-15,000 shells needed each summer for Prarie Dog hunting. Along about '90 or '91 I purchased a separate progressive press taking the biggest load off the RCBS Rockchucker, but it still does all the belted magnums that I load for and also the loads that I'm working up a different bullet/powder combo ect. Yet this old Rockchucker looks a little faded but is just as tight as day one. I don't like brand bashing but very few of the Lee products I've purchased over the years have lived up to the sales hype that was put into the advertising for them. Before I get 'beat up' for being anti Lee, I will use nothing but the Lee crimp dies for my cowboy rifles because I don't have to worry about crushing thin brass cases. When I think back to 1975 when I got my Rockchucker combo package it was $119. When you consider that the same year a fully loaded 4X4 pickup was just over $7000, the Rockchucker combo is more than fair at $250, up just 210%, when the new 4X4 @ $36,000 is up 514%. Just for thought.

Excellent value. Essentially everything you need to get going. I've been reloading for five years with this kit and still use all the tools that came with this kit. There is no junk with this one....just good, easy to use tools. The Rock Chucker Supreme press is really high quality. I could feel it the first time I stroked down to resize a round. Big improvement over an older press I had from another manf.

Have used a R.C. press since 1980. Tens of thousands of rounds, still good. 505 scale o.k. but could be better. Need to add calipers to kit. Adding a powder stand would be nice. Overall RCBS is hard to beat for quality. You get what you pay for so don't go cheap! You can use this kit for a lifetime.

Very Good Quality and press functions smoothly. By my forth box I was able to do a box of 50 rounds in 50 minutes and thats with weighing every 10th powder drop. The scale has something to be desired. I have to constantly calibrate it and when you are trying to measure tenths of grains it's enough to drive you nuts. The uniflow powder measure drops charges that range from .3 over to .3 under the charge you are trying to acheive. I guess it keeps you out of the danger zone but lacks consistant measurement. I will most likely be purchasing a digital scale in the near future.

These are good presses, but thankfully, I have a mint condition old RCBS A2 in the family. So I will not be buying a new press anytime in my life. I wanted to post a tip for everyone my old man discovered in over 40 years of reloading. Ditch the RCBS case lube and pick yourselves up a small tub of lanolin(sheep grease). Works much better for case lubing, is dirt cheap, no hydraulic denting, much less messy, and will last you the rest of your lives. You only need enough that you can feel it on your fingers, and you're good to go. Haven't ruined a case since.

The press is AAA+ in quality and most of the additional tools are quite good. The kit could use more tools for the beginner loader such as a caliper. (How do you reload without a caliper??) A second reloading manual would be a plus.
