I have to agree with everyone else this is really a great product. In my life I have had my shoulder dis located twist the last time was 5 years ago, now that I am 54 years old I am very recoil sensitive. After reading the other reviews I decided to try it for myself. This is great I can shoot anything I want no pain, and much easier to put on and wear than to try and keep a 25 bag of lead shot on your shoulder. Trust me you won'rt be sorry.

This is a must for heavy recoil. I use it when ever I'm shooting at the bench. The pad is about an 1" thick and does make getting the proper eye relief in a scope an issue sometimes. However the great recoil reduceing effects more than compensate for that while shooting off the bench.

I have had one of these for over ten years and it works as good today as it did when it was new. This is one of the most effective ways to control flinching there is. I can sight in several rifles or shotguns and walk away NOT feeling as if I have just been punched in the shoulder twenty or thirty times. If you consider the cost in relation to the benifit, it's a no brainer. Anyone who expects to do accurate shooting from a bench will be better off with one of these. It reduces felt recoil as if you had put a bag of sand between your shoulder and the butt of your gun except this thing is so thin you hardly notice it. Try it, you have nothing to lose except your flinch.

Just got back from the range after shooting 65 458 Win Mag rounds sighting in a scope and then punching holes in paper. Sitting at a bench this sucks up the recoil. Made the session very pleasant and enjoyable. Fits a little awkward but it works OUTSTANDING!!!! If you got a thumper and want to enjoy shooting it use this shield.

Shooting my Rem 7mm Ultra Mag it is the best there ever could be. Reduced recoil is a must for large calibers. Excellent product. Well worth the cost.

This thing really works great. I believe that nothing is perfect, well the only thing that would make the recoil pad perfect would be to have it put itself on you. I used this one for the past 3 weeks before writing the review. I shoot a 300wsm and 30/06 and both used to leave my shoulder black and blue for almost a week after a day at the range, Not to mention my groups would start to fall off as the day went on due to me flinching. Well now i would can take all 3 of my heavy hitters to the range and shoot as much as i want. I also cut my avg group size in half. I am going to go over my load data again and do some more development. I am betting that my poor groups where from me flinching from the recoil. Past could give you some kind of a money back guarantee, it is that good.

I don't have any high caliber/recoil rifles to shoot with, but my 7.62x39 Vepr K gives me major neck and head pains after shooting only 80 rd. So I decided to get a Super Mag shield. Pros: Well, I can REALLY tigthen up my hold of the rifle without feeling any pain whatsoever. The rifle will still jump and kick when shot, but the shooter feels absolutely nothing. Cons: The 1" pad is so thick that I could not square the buttstock with my shoulder in the off-hand position. The pad is too thick and rigid to allow a proper off-hand position. It is only good for prone and bench shooting. I recommend a thinner pad for off-hand shooting. Overall, if you are looking to kill recoil or allow beginner shooters to familiarize themself with heavy kicking rifles, this IS the pad to use.

Excellent product-- it takes the majority out of the recoil by absorbing the brute force and spreading it out over a larger surface area. I have a Rem 700 Safari KS in .458 Win Mag with a factory installed muzzle brake and with the hard rubber pad, the stock has on it, the super mag plus recoil shield soaks up about 40% of the perceived recoil and makes it a lot more pleasant to shoot off the bench when sighting it in and virtually eliminates the bruising caused by not having the proper shoulder protection.

I found the thickness of the pad to be more bothersome than I had expected, however, after spending a whole day at the range working out loads for black powder and slug guns I found the benefits far outweigh the adjustments I had to make to my shooting style. Don't waste your money on other recoil reducing devices until you try this. In one day at the range I shot 50+ 12ga slugs and 100+ 54 cal BP loads and had NO physical side effects from it. Also, it does start to fit better the more of a beating it takes.

This product is much better than the garden kneeling pad I have used on my shoulder with my big bore rifles, a Colt Sauer Safari Supreme in .458 Win. Mag. and an NEF Ultimate Rifle in .500 S&W Mag. Either of these rifles is brutal with full loads and the Mag Plus Recoil Shield makes them both easily sufferable bench rifles. A 5 star product but the instructions on how to put the thing on did not make sense. Good thing there is a picture on the packaging!

Fantastic product! Makes 45-70 +P bear loads feel more like a 30-06 180 grain loads. It is hard to describe but here goes....the quick jab into your shoulder is absorbed and not painful at all. The pushback seems more even and "easily tolerable." Prior to buying a muzzle brake I strongly encourage you to try this product!

I have one of these for shooting the big and powerful calibers. It does fit awkward and the fit is weird sometimes, but once it's broken in, it fits a little better. Mine has developed a little groove from the rifle butt. A sort of "recoil valley". I shoot from 7mm Rem up to .416 Rem and it's held up well. I may get a mag plus or super mag plus for the lighter calibers just to save on shoulder soreness. The mag plus pad has helped me shoot more consistent groups as well as helped me get more practice time with the serious thumpers. It is also good for powerful slug guns and magnum muzzle loaders. I've tried it with my .243 and .25-06 and the felt recoil on the shoulder was almost non-existent. I can recommend it when you're shooting powerful guns. It'll help on soreness and will help ease the possibility of flinching.

Sure, it "dramatically reduce recoil", and the thicker you get the more it reduces. But at the expense of comfortable fit. I don't even think it need to be that big! They should try a smaller, more curved design to fit the body better. After all, you are going to abduct and flex your arm when you shoot. There is a crease there for that, but the one inch pad I got is just too thick for that fold to be comfortable. I bought the SuperMag Plus, but could settle for the SuperMag. It looks like good material and should last a long time.

I have had two PAST recoil shields and have used them for several years. They make shooting any long gun more pleasurable. That said I bought this for my daughter. It says it is ambidextrous. It is just a left handed shield turned inside out...and looks like it.
