This anodized aluminum buttstock is lighter than a standard stock while still retaining high strength and durability. A closed-cell foam overtube provides a comfortable cheek weld and insulates the shooter's face from vibration and temperature extremes. Stock offers 3 sling positions: right and left behind the receiver (with included sling loop) and at the toe of the butt. Stock is a direct bolt on and includes a 1/2" thick rubber recoil pad and uses a standard A1/A2 receiver extension tube, buffer and spring (not included).

Dimensions:

  • Overall Length: 9.9"
  • Length of Pull: 13" without Recoil Pad
  • Approximate Weight: 10.9 oz

  • Overall Rating: 4.64 stars

This is a very nice stock at a great price. I put it on my AR-15 and it looks great. The pad provides a comfortable cheek weld. The multiple sling attachment points are a plus. Installation is very easy (minus the red loctite that the manufacturer of my AR put on the screw that attaches the original buttstock to the buffer tube). Definitely use some type of lubricant to get the pad over the buffer tube. The Allen bolts are far better than the original screws used by the manufacturer. Time will tell on the sturdiness of the stock, but from the look and feel of it I think that its gonna hold up just fine!

Great product, I can't recommend it enough. This is my first attempt at installing an AR buttstock and the ARFX made it a breeze. Once you've screwed in the rifle length buffer you just slide the (lubed) foam sleeve over the buffer tube in line with the stock. Once it's on one screw holds everything in place, solid as a rock. Length of pull is excellent even without the buttpad (and I'm 6'2"), the fit and finish is flawless and little things like plenty of cap screws for the unused sling mount points (four to choose from, either side at the front, one each on the top and bottom of the back of the stock) really make this worth the money. I'll be buying the shorter version (ARFX-Entry stock) for use in my next build, a 9mm carbine.

When installing the foam tube use a water based lube such as (Don't Laugh) K-Y Jelly. It won't breakdown the foam like WD-40 and other petroleum based lubes, and it will dry. The foam will go on easier and last longer.

This is a good stock for your AR... when installing, try spraying a little WD40 into the foam cover... makes it easy to slide onto the tube... the WD40 dries up in a few days and the foam stays put... best feature is the multiple sling mounting points.

My favorite stock for target and hunting AR's that are scoped flat-tops. I use it with the one inch DPMS buttstock spacer, for maximum length of pull, and have not had any problems at all. Easy on the cheek in cold weather and light when carrying. The replacement foam sleeves are inexpensive and easy to replace (Use LOT'S of WD-40).

This is a very good product. I have two of them. One full size and one on my M-4. I have not have any problems with them and they are great for reducing the carry weight of your rifle.

The Ace Skeleton Stock is a good alternative to the standard AR stock. It works every bit as well, too. Changing out the AR stock was a breeze. The instructions were more than adequate. The Ace stock is well built. I expect it to hold up well under hard use. The Ace stock improves the AR lines quite a bit, in my opinion. It is easy on the cheek because of the padding which covers the recoil tube. I recommend this product heartily!

I ordered one of these a while back for use on my m16. Excellent product, the foam tube gives a comfy cheek weld and the multiple sling stud attachment points come in handy when using a three point sling. The foam overtube doesn't hold up very well to rough handling, but replacements are very inexpensive.

If you want to lighten a full size AR for carry, maintain a sufficient pull length (about 3/4" more than A2 length and identical to the Choate stock), get rid of the sharp-checkered butt plate (smooth, soft pad on the ACE) and at the same time mount a single-point sling (no need for expensive adapters, it comes with a sling mount that fits into a threaded recess at the front of both sides of the stock), this is the only practical solution. Well-made and a great value.

A great product, period. Replaces the original rifle stock with a (surprisingly) sturdy setup. The foam cheek rest makes shooting the rifle a lot more comfortable. Just make sure that you lightly lube your buffer tube and the inside of the foam tube before attempting to slide it on. I didn't recieve any instructions with mine unfortunately. I've heard that the instructions DO say to do this. It was a royal pain attempting to get it on until I experimented. I guess I was one of the few who didn't get any directions. Midway\UPS got it to my door in 2 days flat with regular ground shipping. Awesome job.

I put this stock on my 6.5 Grendel and it looks great. The pad provides a comfortable cheek weld. The multiple sling attachment points are a plus. Installed in about 30 minutes. Mixed equal parts of Dawn & water for lube..foam slid right on with no problems. If your rifle has the adjustable stock don't forget a rifle length buffer tube which is 2" longer than the adjustable tube. Stock comes with the 1/2" butt pad but I ordered the 1" for a little more length. All parts have a nice tight fit and a great finish. Something else I really like about this stock is that it has Made In USA stamped right on the butt! EASY installation..great stock..great price! Thanks Midway!

I picked one of these up a while ago for an AWB compliant carbine I was building, and I have to say it's probably the best stock I've ever owned, for any rifle, and that's saying quite a bit. The first time I shot the new rifle I kept getting cases stuck in the chamber, thanks to loose die dimensions and a tight chamber. I got a bit frustrated and ended up banging the butt on a pallet to clear the chamber, and the stock came through my moment of stupidity just fine. Another reviewer said that there's a point on either side of the stock to mount a sling, and there is right up towards the front of the stock. In addition to that, there's two more points to mount a sling on the top and bottom at the rear of the stock. It also included screws to plug all the holes, as well. It also came with a set of screws to mount the rubber buttpad, and a different screw to secure it to the buffer tube should you not want the buffer pad. As for the foam tube, a little glass cleaner inside the foam makes the job easier, and dries quickly. I accidentally pinched a little bit of the foam off while mounting, but trimmed it flat with a knife, and it's just fine now. Also sanded the front top of the foam down a little bit to help the charging handle clear it easier. All in all, this is probably one of the best fixed stocks for someone building a light rifle in a small caliber.

This is a nice solid stock. The installation was easy, and it has a nice feel. The only downside is that the foam is easily damaged during installation. Other than that, it is very comfortable.

The stock is a nice stock. There are no instructions on how to install this on an AR15 with an adjustable stock. I bought an A2 buffer tube, but didn't know I needed a different spring and buffer, or a spacer for my existing spring and buffer. I almost screwed up my gun and myself because the bolt didn't seat. Luckily the rifle didn't fire. The stock comes with a 1/2" butt pad, there is no reason to order the 1" pad unless you need an extra 1/2" in length. I rated the stock at good, it would have been great if the instructions were complete and I would have been told it came with a 1/2" pad.

The pad was good but the bottom screw on the pad was way too short. I had to call ACE Ltd USA directly and pay for the additional screw and shipping myself.

Doesn't exactly bolt right on a DPMS LR-308, of course the product info doesn't say it will either, just funny that DPMS sells these also. Other than the hour or so of filing down the locating nub to fit into the receiver, no probs with install. Too bad ACE doesn't list one specifically for the DPMS 308, cause I'd like to get one for my other gun..... now I'm thinking I'll get a slip on recoil pad for the factory A2 stock instead.

First of all let me start by saying that the customer service at Midway is outstanding. I received this item quickly...however it was missing a butt pad. Spoke to customer service and I was directed to the distributor for a resolution, they stated that I would be sent a butt pad. I have called them twice with no closure. Great product! Poor service on their part. Midway however was very understanding and helpful.
