Bertram Brass is imported from Australia. They specialize in the production of high quality brass for obsolete and obscure calibers. New unprimed brass.

Preparation:

  • Due to the manufacturing process and/or shipping, case mouths may not be perfectly round. To ensure a round case mouth, cases must be sized (or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through case neck) and deburred/Chamfered prior to loading.

    Notes:
  • A light "staining" may be found on the case neck of new brass. This is due to annealing. Annealing is a process, performed by the manufacturer, which involves rapid heating to a specified temperature followed by rapid cooling. This process imparts cases with the proper hardness to securely hold a bullet as well as gives flexibility to expand and contract upon firing and repeated forming. The "staining" is a residue from this process. This stain may be removed by tumbling before loading.

Well, the other post sums it up. The cases split on first firing and annealing seems not to make a difference. My revolver seems to have chambers bigger than normal but neither grafs nor the old fashioned, thin wall 32/20 cases I used split even once; almost all the bertrams split. This is the only true full-length nagant brass that I am aware of and accuracy was top notch but I can't justify buying new cases every reload at $.75 a shot.

Horrible experience. Probably 1/3 of them split on first firing. I'd rather pony up for Fiocchi factory ammo than go through the frustration of dealing with these again.
