A++ on this innovative product from Tipton. Yes, it is possible that the picks can break or get damaged. However, to me they are worth it. I use them on gun parts with no fear of scatches or damage. If one eventually breaks, I will just buy another set.

These help scoot junk into an area where you can wipe it off with a patch. Great for getting into spots that even a toothpick cant reach. They are plastic so you shouldn't expect them to scrape junk off

I have been using the same set of these picks for about 9 months without breaking any. I treat them like plastic, not steel. They are extremely handy for getting into small spaces in and around slide rails, forcing cones, bolt parts, grooves and crevices. Some are extremely pointed and punch through traditional cleaning patches, however. There is one particular tool I use constantly. I generally clean 2-3 guns, thoroughly, per week, with 4 guns after a monthly competition.

I should have bought these years ago! For less than $5, it's one of the best gun cleaning tools I've purchased. Hard enough to get the carbon from around the extractor of my 1911 but not hard enough to scratch it. Well done again, Tipton.

Great price, good product. I have used mine for about 4 years and finally broke a couple of the tips off. I think the solvents finally attacked the plastic compound enough to harden it. Great for all uses, but remember, they are plastic.... for a reason! No scratches here.

They work great for getting thte grime out of my 1911. The only complaint is they are a little too flexible - stiffer plastic would be better.

Very useful but a bit fragile. I order a few sets as my heavy hand has a tendency to break them. These are a must have for Ruger MK 1, 2 and 3 owners unless you trust yourself with metal picks.

Obviously someone was paying attention to more than the hygenist when they went to the dentist.nice idea that is exceuted fairly well. if you've got a spot you thought imopssible to reach, try these. gets in places you'd normally leave wet with solvents, maybe without knowing. details, details.

I also broke mine. The sharpest and most useful tips went first. Each pick has a different shape on each end, and all four picks are unique. If they sold a 4-pack of the one tip I found useful, I'd buy another set. Also, the thicker one that lasted the longest (6 months) wore and changed shape with use. It's an excellent idea that needs better material. Strong polymers (sic) are available and I'd pay $15 for a set that would last for me. I'm going to try the stainless steel version and be real gentle.

These are the only cleaning picks made of plastic I have found anywhere. They are very good if you do not eat Wheaties in the morning before you use them. They are very fragile, must be used very carefully, and break easily. Perhaps there is a stronger plastic available. They all broke about 1/2" to 1" from the tip. Too bad/great idea!

I agree with Tony, these picks are very fragile. I have broken two of them so far and was not being very forceful at all when they broke. One broke when I was trying to clean the slide on my pistol. The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is that they are still very handy to get in to those tight places.

These things are pretty worthless as picks. They're plastic and can't be used to scrape anything and aren't molded well so that the "sharp" tips aren't sharp at all.

Flimsy and cheap feeling. The plastic is very soft and when you need a tool like this, these just don't cut it. They are too flexible and soft plastic to dig away and junk. Gave them 2 stars because if you wrap a wipe on the end of them they are great for getting in nooks and crannies.

While I find these picks to be EXTREMELY useful, the biggest problem is that they are so poorly made that you CONSTANTLY risk breaking them. Maybe thats all you can get for this price, but I can't believe that a stronger, better constructed set can't be engineered that does not have this same frail nature. There is one pick in particular that almost becomes indispensable once you get use to having it. It doesn't scratch the gun finish and is angled and gently tapered into a flat point on one end and then is straight with again a flat taper on the end. This is SO VASTLY superior to all the others that it becomes the instrument of choice for cleaning...the other picks are almost redundant. You could simply manufacture this one pick with better, higher quality material and sell it singlly and have a superior product, with less parts than what is being made now.

Simply piece of junk. Very weak and break so easily. One of the picks was already broke when shipped and the other one just broke in 2 pieced like a wood toothpick. it is about same strength with wooden toothpick. Don't buy this product. Ever!!! Totally waste of money even if it is cheap.
