I've used this scale for the past 8 years and am exceptionally pleased. I bought it when I started reloading (largely because of the price), and over the years have updated pretty much every other tool on my reloading bench except for this scale. Time after time, day after day, this scale produces consistent, repeatable results. After thousands of rounds of reloaded ammo (both bulk pistol ammo and precision rifle loads), it still shows perfect balance with all combinations of my check weights. This is definitely a product that I would recommend for both new and experienced reloaders.

This product is well built and very accurate. I have been handloading for 15 years now and used many different scales. This scale is one of the top. Readings are accurate and repeatable. The only complaint I have about it is that balance marks are slightly farther apart than I would like. Even with that flaw, it is still very user friendly and accurate.

I received the scale as part of kit. Shortly after using it, the fulcrum became loose and came completely out of the beam. Sent the scale back for repair, and it was returned in inoperable condition...the beam was not square to the base and it would not swing freely. Sent back again to factory and it was finally returned in working order. It appears to be a new beam and so far it has weighed my check weights and bullets accurately. I have priced other scales and the next time it gives me a reason to doubt it; I will trash it and pursue other name brands that hopefully will perform its job without any fuss.

Lyman needs to take this thing off the market. The loads are never accurate, and it's a bugger to zero out. I sent it to the manufacturer for repair, and it came back in worse shape than before. Better off using it as a target or throwing it in the trash. Don't buy.

When I received this scale, I could not zero the scale by using the leveling screw. The graduations on the beam are very close together, it is difficult to read.

What a mess! Can't zero because it won't level out, keeps reading way up or down, even w/out any weight! If you can't zero, you also can't use it. Weight the same bullet, and you get a totally different reading each and every time. Checked workbench and beam with 3-way leveler to try to zero beam, but no go - the beam just won't stay centered no matter what! Try something else.

This thing is a POS. To top it off, it has a plastic base. The scale always gets stuck around zero when you trickle in powder. I think it is due to the magnets being too strong and catching the damper instead of letting the arm swing freely. After 3 months of inconsistent function, I bough a RCBS, and man I tell, the difference in function (and quality) is night and day.

I would have to agree with the other reviews . This scale is junk . Wouldn't zero out of the box and it hangs up while trickling powder . Not serviceable at all .

I used this scale for the first time as part of a press kit to reload 13 rounds of 30-06. While measuring the 14th charge I noticed the scales pivot had moved just slightly causing a very inaccurate reading due to poor machining on the pivot and partial contact with the sides of the slot it rides in. I caught it just by chance and when I realigned the pivot my charge was actually a lot higher than I wanted. Since I was reloading a little hot this error had the potential to be dangerous. I couldn't be sure when the pivot moved as I had not bumped the scale or table at any point and it had probably just happened by the action of the arm moving. So I had to pull 13 bullets (what a pain). I'm just glad it was not 50.. A new reloader might not catch this and I'd hate for someone to blow off their face because of this scales "all of a sudden" inaccurate reading.

Plastic piece of junk. Won't hold zero, no accuracy at all. I use a 1960's era Redding Powder scale that still reads accurately and is all Metal.
