I have a Wilson Combat 1911 and it is awesome, I have been using Wilson Combat Magazines forever. I purchased a Chip McCormick Magazine just to see how well they performed. I can tell you that I think the Chip McCormick Magazine is better than the Wilson Combat. They are easier to load and function flawlessly.

I recently purchased a Sig 1911 with Novak sites and Mags. The last round would always jam, it didn’t matter if I loaded three, five or eight I had 100% jam rate. These Mags fix my problem with 100% no jam rate. Problem solved! Thanks for a great product.

I have used various different types of magazines in a full size Llama .45, which hand previously only functioned reliably with the original 7rd magazine. These mags are absolutely the best. I've used them without a single problem, and the gun now runs reliably.

This is the first mag I tried that would reliably feed a variety of hollow points in my Colt Comp Commander. Before these, I tried the factory 7-rounders, some "mil-spec" 7-rounders and some McCormick Shooting Star mags.

I have used the Power Mags in my Kimber TLE II and am very pleased with the reliability, consistency and overall quality of these mags. I don't think you can get a better made mag, certainly not for the money. I originally purchased three mags and just received three more that I ordered. You can never have too many magazines. I recently installed a mag-well in my Kimber and the Power Mags work perfectly. The pad is just the right length to properly seat the mag but does not extend below the mag-well where it would be uncomfortable for concealed carry.

I have owned my Colt Double Eagle (1911 style with da/sa trigger) for over 5 years. I have bought many mags for this gun. The factory mag works very well but not designed for cleaning. These power mags can be cleaned very easily by pushing the button and removing the base. All you need is a little screwdriver. These mags feed better and are easier to load then stock. The number of rounds is easy to see with the numbers clearly stamped on the side. You can keep the clip loaded for months at a time without the spring wearing out at all. I have owned one mag for 2.5 years now and its always loaded. Still works like new. Quality all the way. Best mags on the market for your 1911, no doubt about it!

The mags hits the slide stop EVERY time and feeds flawless. Don't waste money on other mags as I have. This is THE one to buy if your life depends on your pistol! Thanks Chip!

These mags are as good if not better than Wilson 47D mags. The only concern I have is that the follower dips forward, whereas Wilson follower moves up and down. Follower tipping does not seem to affect accuracy at all for 8-round power mag. These mags are significantly cheaper than Wilson 47D.

These mags just plain work. In guns with feeding problems a switch to these mags will often cure it. If it doesn't it is the pistol. Iv'e used several brands and I always end up with these in my pistols. Wilsons are also nice but these NEVER fail me. I have 3 20 year old "shooting star" mags that still work flawlessly.

Switched to these mags after I had problems with the Wilson 47D magazines (wouldn't lock slide after last round fired). Not to knock Wilson -- their products and customer service are great -- but the mags just didn't work well in my Springfield Operator. The Power Mags function flawlessly. The quality is top notch and it's easy to see how many rounds are in each mag in the round indicator hole. I've added six of them to my pistol kit.

These magazines work flawlessly in my Springfield WWII GI .45. The spring is as powerful as CMC claims. I think the follower tipping and movement make the mag more reliable. The follower can move foward with the last round, filling the gap between the magazine and frame. This results in more surface area on the follower to engage the slide stop lobe. I like the quality of the magazine body and base pad. Even though it is only 8 rounds, I like the round holes and numbers on both sides.

I own both this and the equivalent from Wilson Combat. They are practically the same in quality, each 5 stars. The Chip McCormick has a steel follower that looks lower tech but will probably last longer than the nylon follower in Wilson's mag. Both mags have been 100% reliable with both 230gr ball and 230gr UMC JHP ammo in my Springfield 1911 mil-spec, even with 8 rounds loaded.

I ordered 8 of these mags from Midway for my Springfield Loaded Target. Function tested all of them today with Fiocchi 230 grain hardball ammo. All worked flawlessly. No FTF & slide locked back every time after last shot. I have Tripp Research followers & springs that I will be testing with these mag bodies, but that may be overkill, since they work perfectly as is.

These function flawlessly in all my 1911s (Kimber, Wilson, Springfield, Dan Wesson, and Colt). I have mags from all of those manufacturers, as well. I like the Power Mags above the rest, though it's price when it comes to liking them over Wilson 47Ds. I will say that it seems that Power Mags have stronger springs than the rest. The base pads, though plastic, serve their purpose and are fairly unobtrusive, even without a magwell. Some of my other mags have awful looking pads. I realize that's pure aesthetics, but when it functions well, is cheaper, and looks better . . .

I had serious feeding problems with my Springfield M1911. I tried Springfield factory magazines that they swapped for me under warranty, GI spec magazines, new MecGar magazines that I purchased, all with the same result, no improvement. Then I tried the McCormick Power Mag. Holy Cow! What a difference! I have not had a failure to feed since! The gun is a joy to shoot and I give these mags my highest recommendation. I ordered two to start but will be back for more.

A well-made, reliable mag. Sturdy. It certainly feels like the springs are stiffer than those in the regular shooting star mags. They work well in my Kimber. Be aware that there may be a slight gap of magazine body that you can see between the baseplate and bottom of your grip when the mag is fully inserted.

Great magazine and runs flawlessly in both a Springfield TRP and a Wilson Combat CQB. I was surprised that it came with two different size base pads, a low profile and an extended one. Wilson Combat could take a lesson from that for it's line up. For the quality and features this has to be one of the best magazines out there, the lower price is just gravy!!!!!

My 1911's function flawlessly with Chip McCormick Power Mags. With Power Mags, I have not had a malfunction due to a magazine issue and I have fired over 3000 rounds using Power Mags. I own and have tried Kimber, Wilson Combat, MecGar and Auto Ordnance magazines. In my opinion as a law enforcement professional, the Chip McCormick Power Mag is the only option for dependability and reliability.

Bought 5 for my Kimber Gold Match II. And yes, they are MUCH better than the Kimber factory mag (which sadly CM designed as well). They lose one star for me b/c I have found that if the rounds are not seated flush with the rear of the mag well there tends to be some scrapping as the round is fed into the chamber. You can actually feel it a bit. This has twice been accompanied by a failure to seat properly in the chamber. However, these are a huge step up from the Kimber mag. Merry Christmas!

Pretty good mag but am having a slight problem with engaging the slide lock before the last round. I think the follower is the problem nosing the last bullet down and allowing the casing to contact the mag release on my Model 70 Colt. Wilson 47DE is better with the full-size plastic follower. This mag. is cheaper than the Wilson 47DE so I'll probably try to file the mag release or replace the follower with one that doesn't tip down. If you shoot 200 rounds per week, Wilson is probably worth the extra money.

Not really impressed with this magazine. I have a couple 1911s and each one had the same issues. Using ball ammo they fed fine but once you switch to HP rounds, they failed to feed/seat properlly. As mentioned before, it seems to be that the nose is not supported. You can actually take you finger and gently press the follower and it angles steeply into the mag. Also, the "ears" of the mag seem to be too close together making it difficult to fully seat/remove rounds. Not sure if I got a bad batch or if they are designed like this. Quite disappointed in this model though. Shame too because I have other Chip mags and they work flawlessly with ball and hp or swc ammo. Good for the range but not carry. Just my opinion based on my experience with them.

I bought based on the great reviews, but I wasn't so impressed. While fumbling with the follower I pushed it forward with my finger enough the follower and spring pushed (shot) out the top of the magazine. There isn't a retainer on the front of the follower, so forward motion of the follower isn't limited. I'll use it as a spare at the range but will pick followers with skirts as my favorite. Yes, I wasn't doing the magazine as it would be in service, but the four (other brands) I have with follower skirts can't have this problem.

I just bought a Kimber Pro TLE/RL II. I had 2 Chip McCormick mags that worked well in my Springfield Trophy Match. Before I even shot my new Kimber, I bought another 8 & a 10 round. I have constant misfeeds and jams. I've switched ammo from one brand to the next, round-nose and JSWC, and nothing wants to go in. It seems that the bullet tip gets oriented downward when the slide scrapes it out of the mag. It's not just stuck level, it's physically pointed downward. I'm going to try Wilson Combat mags to make sure it's not the gun. Everyone says these are great, and I'm inclined to believe it. Maybe I just found a gun/mag combo that doesn't agree. The gun is new with 350 rounds through it now. After 100 rounds or so, I can have a misfeed every round or every two or three. It gets that bad.
