Two thumbs up! I have been reloading for years but the Classic turret is the fastest, most trouble free press I have ever used. Just one more good Lee product.

I love this press. I'm a amputee and can reload effortlessly with one arm with this press i don't use the autuo-index though i do all batch work and it's so nice not having to reset all my dies everytime. The saftey prime is a dream. I'm very impressed how Lee can make exceptional products at a low cost.

Lee hit it out of the park on this one. My only regret is waiting a year before buying one. I've loaded around 500 rounds of 30-06, 308, and 8x57 so far without a hiccup. I've also used it to resize .284 win brass to 7.5x55 and this press handles it well. I've been using a single stage press for close to 15 years, and might never use the single stage again. One confounding issue for a new user is the indexing. This can be adjusted very quickly and easily by following the directions listed on Lee's website.

This press was very easy to assemble and comes with good instructions. I purchased a second turret head and caliber changes are amazingly easy. First time loading this press I did about 50 rounds in an hour, second time I did about 125 / hour. I like that it is faster than a single stage with almost all the benefits, not having to readjust dies is a plus too.

I have loaded thousands of rounds on my Lee 4 hole Turret Press. The 4-hole turret gives you a place for the factory crimp die for handgun sets and for a powder die with rifle sets. It is very easy to use. Once you have the dies adjusted once, you just take the whole turret out and it fits perfectly into the round die box for storage, then you pop the next caliber in and away you go. Coupled with the Auto Disk powder measure, this is and has been the reloading set up for me for the past 25+ years. Mine has stood the test of time and has never let me down. The only thing I have ever had to do to it is upgrade it from the 3-hole to the 4-hole when it came out. No, I don't work for Lee, I wish I did though.

I like that I can just pop off the turret & put the next caliber in & I'm ready to go! I use this press when I have a lot to load in a short time. I do between 200-300 rounds per hour. I use it to load 9mm, 38spl, 357mag, 44spl, 44mag, 30-30 & 308. I highly recommend.

The Lee Classic 4 Hole Turret Press has to be one of the very best turret presses out there. It is soooo smooth and easy to load with, It's just a pleasure to operate. The heft of construction tells you it should last a lifetime or more, It's SOLID as a rock. Used with the Lee Pro Auto Disk Powder Measure, it gives you fast and accurate handloads. Great press at an awesome price.

My only problem with this press is .. BACKORDER...If you are just loading range fodder you might consider something more "progressive" I am a handloader. I like to concentrate on every round I load and this press lets me do just that. One way or another match grade ammo is expensive. The most expensive component is your time, so stop fooling around with the machine and start loading. Thanks Mr. Lee

This press has impressed me from day one. Set up was straight forward. The ram and linkage are solid and smooth in operation. I've loaded 7.62x54R, 303 British, 223 Rem, 45 ACP and 400 CorBon with it, all with Lee dies. I use mine with the Lee Safety Prime system and the Lee Auto Disk Pro Powder Measure for pistol and the Perfect Powder Measure for Rifle and of course a Lee Safety Scale. The Auto Index feature is great for loading large quantities of pistol ammo but less important for rifle ammo due to needing to lube resize and clean the cases in between operations. Don't forget the extra Turrets they are very handy for switching from reloading one caliber to the next quickly.

This is my first actual bench mounted press, I have been using the Lee loader kits up until now. First off WOW! what an awsome loading system, I love it! The classic turret press is better than I could have ever emagined, it set up in minutes, the directions for the press and dies were very easy to to read and understand, and the engineers at Lee made everything quick and easy to set up and use. The only negative comment I hav is that as a proffesional machinist I feel the machining of the 4-hole die holder was somewhat sloppy but not so bad that there were any actual problems, also the choice of aluminum for the plate is very week and should have been steel or some other stronger wear resistant alloy. Other than that this is a great press at a very fair price.

Can load 50 rds of ACP in 20 min.'s and that is taking my time to inspect each case, etc. I whole heartly recommend this product.

I received my press, and after some difficulty got it working. It is a fine press with lots of power, and very well built. I was disappointed in that one of the primmer trigger assemblies lacked all the parts, but that was taken care in a short call to Midway. If you are wanting a press without paying 2-300 dollars this is the press for you.

An Outstanding Lee product! I bought one back in January after looking at the Lee website. At the time there was little product literature. Read the reviews here and bought one. I reload 30-06,.308,.223,.357 and 9mm Luger. Have put about 2500 rounds through this setup and really like the single stage feature, the 4 hole die holder. The base is substantial and the arm assembly gives good leverage fully resizing rifle rounds. Best value in reloading presses, in my opinion. My previous presses were Lee Hand press and Lee Loaders.

I own the press and have put it into heavy use loading everything from the 416 Weatherby, to the 45 Colt. It is a gem and Lee Precision should be acknowledged for making an excellent piece of equipment. I read a prior review regarding use of a compression recoil spring, a couple of times, and I think the individual just doesn't understand the way the press and assembly works. The cylindrical turret bearing surface slips into the steel frame (turret ring) and provides lateral support. The turret can't tip as there is no clearance to allow movement of any consequence. Also, under upward pressure, the turret's 8 locking lug surfaces are forced into contact with the lower planer surface of the steel lugs on the steel turret ring and that locates the turret perpendicular to the cartridge. Finally, a small compression recoil spring would offer virtually no lateral stability against any force of consequence, and the force behind resizing, crimping, etc is comparatively huge. I have no association with Lee Precision, I just hate to see people deliver a good product for our use, and then get treated unfairly.

Dang. This is the best press I have used yet. Caliber change-overs occur in seconds and need NO TOOLS. The safety prime has a short learning curve. Press works just as well without but the priming is slower. I replaced my Rock Chucker with it and now my Dillon SDB is getting jealous. The unit produces great ammo. With the safety prime system I can run 3-4 rounds a minute. Currently loading 10mm auto and .357 magnum on it. This press is light years ahead of the old pro 1000 I had (and gave a negative review to). I can't say enough good things about this press.

After many years of using a single stage press I decided to try a turret press. Some of the other brands are very expensive for me and the extra turrets are also costly. The Lee cast turret press and turrets are a very reasonable price. I set mine up with a Lee Safety Primer Feed and a set of Lee 223 Remington dies. What joy to use. It works great!! Also, the Safety Primer Feed make this press even easier to use, well worth the money.

Looks like Lee has pulled it off again- a turret press with superior features at less than half the price of some premium brands. Used mine for 280 Express Rem and some 25-06 Rem mag - quick easy loading with zero problems. Pistol rounds in 9mm and 45 ACP also loaded well. I also use this press to load 50 BMG. I had a stainless plate with a 1-1/4x12tpi threaded hole and 3 mounting holes fabricated by a machinist to replace the original turret ring. I also ordered the 50BMG shell holder (PN BP1714) from Lee factory to replace the press's original shell holder insert when loading 50 BMG. Sometimes, when I feel like loading single stage, I install the 7/8"x14 bushing adapter (PN BP2979) on the plate, switch the shell holder insert to the original config. and happily load single stage. All work great. I find I can switch back to the original auto index config. in 5 minutes. I strongly recommend this press. I can see how other makers are scratching their heads how Lee could sell such a premium quality product at less than a $100. My supreme salute to the Lee guys - Richard and John Lee!!

Very pleasing to use. Auto index is very, very nice! I've used a single stage all my handloading life. The convenience and speed of Lee turret is like comparing night and day. Try one and you're hooked. I loaded 500 40 S&W and 250 9mm in one afternoon without problems. The press has a short learning curve. I was doing 200/hour after installing the press 2.5 hours earlier. The absence of flying decap primers is a little weird when sizing rounds - all decap primers routed straight to the trash can. I also installed the Lee safety prime - great tool!! although you need to watch the primer tray. It empties fast and will not unload a primer unless the primer channel from the tray is full. I also loaded 200 pieces 243 Win and 500 pieces 223 Rem mag with no problems. The 4 hole turret has a space for my Lyman 55 powder measure (using the 7/8x14 drop tube adapter) and this improved my loading speed. I'm already thinking of disposing of my single stage press which is now just collecting dust. I now use it only for bullet swaging and sizing. If you have to own just one press. This is the one!

I'll have to agree with the other reviews. I've used the old turret press for 20 years. I got the new, more than anything else, because it catches the spent primers. However it is much better in many ways. I did not think I would use the auto-index feature much but I was wrong. I have two sets of .45 ACP carbide dies so put both resizing dies and both flaring dies in the 4 hole turret. I was able to size and flare a bucket full of brass in half the time. The press is sturdy and very positive in action. The only disappointment is that the mounting holes were not the same pattern as my old turret press as I hade been led to believe.

I love this tool a lot. It has a solid feel and the finish is superb. I load a lot of 308 Win and 6.8 Rem SPC for my DPMS and Barrett AR rifles. Full length sizing is no problem for the press. The best thing is you get to load faster than a single stage or ordinary manual index turret tool. The auto index is the key. The Lee also has a new primer system which works like a charm and easy to load primers without touching them. I also mounted my RCBS Dandy powder measure with 7/8"x14 adapter in the 2nd hole and the auto index still works well. I also used a 1911 spring (2.5" to 3" 10lb) for the index rod to keep the tool head fixed against its stop during bullet seating or ram upstroke- keeps the bullet OAL within 0.0015". Using the Lee turret press makes my day like Dirty Harry firing his 44 magnum at a felon!!

I bought this press to replace a very problematic progressive press. The Lee produces better quality rounds. Most progressives don't size the case all the way down to the head due to shell plate limitations resulting in wide base diameters near the rim. This can cause hang-ups in chambers. The Lee turret press, due to its use of standard shell holders, sizes fully down close to the rim. Plus the simple mechanism has less jams than a full progressive press. More importantly you get better control in reloading especially powder charging. Might be a little slower but I like quality more than quantity. Nice work Lee!!

I fist read about the Lee Classic press in a review in Guns & Ammo magazine, and I decided to try one since I have a RCBS rockchucker. The production rate was quite impressive although there is a learning curve with the safety prime and auto disk powder dispenser. Initially, the pictures in the instructions needed better amplification and labeling which would have made the start-up easier. Watch out for the installation of the return spring on the autodisc dispenser -it requires some strength and dexterity to install it. The other complaint I had was you definitely need a riser for the autodisc in order to use dies which are not Lee's. The production rate is slightly slower than a friend's Dillon 550 but for 1/4 the price you can't beat it. Well constructed and engineered! And I even bought it on sale from Midway!!!

My first press was a Lee 3 hole turret almost 5 years ago. Sold it, not being too happy with the finish fit of the toggle and links. I've used other turret presses since : Lyman T-Mag, RCBS Turret and finally a Redding T7. After reading reviews on the Lee turret, decided to try one out. Very satisfied with the new press. Fit and finish is quite good. The tall clearance is ideal for my 300 Wby and 338 RUM where auto index works. Also used for pistol 45ACP, 357 mag and 454 Casull. Can crank out 150 rounds/hour. Safety prime is very nice and convenient. I've installed my Hornady powder measure with a 7/8x14 adapter on the 2nd hole of the press for powder charge while loading. Works great. I've decided to sell my Redding T7 press. After coming full circle on turret presses, I've decided that the Lee Turret is the one I want to be buried with.

My favorite press! I own both the RCBS and Lyman turret press. I enjoy using the Lee more since it's the only press which auto indexes. Easy to use. I loaded 250 rounds of 223 Rem and about 500 rounds of 45 cap in an afternoon of loading at moderate pace. This is also the first time I used the Lee safety prime tool - great! More convenient than the tube primer system of Lyman. The guys who complain about wasted strokes on the Lee Turret press using 2 or 3 rifle dies sets are idiots and need to see a shrink fast. Extra strokes on turret presses are common in ALL BRANDS. On a Lyman turret press for example, I have to turn the turret back 2 holes to return to the sizing die for all my 3 die sets so that's wasted movement. For Lee turret, I put in a powder drop die on 3rd hole for my 3 die sets so no strokes wasted. For my two die sets, a powder measure (with 7/8x14 adapter) is mounted on the 2nd hole and a factory crimp die on the 4th hole. No more wasted strokes. Problems solved!! Lee turret press is super!

Put through 2,500 rounds of 223 Rem and 1,500 30-30 Win without any problems. The auto index does a good job and much faster than manual index. For all the complaints on the number of excess holes of this press for 2 or 3 die rifle sets, I say, it's the same thing on any other turret presses. Wasted strokes are not unique to Lee turret. For 3 die rifle sets, the extra hole can be used for powder charge (2nd hole) and the rest can hold the 3 dies in proper sequence. For 2 die sets, 2nd hole can be dedicated for powder charge die and the 3rd hole for a powder cop die and the 4th hole for a seat crimp die. This is what I did for loading my 223 Rem and 30-30 Win cases. So NO PROBLEMS or wasted strokes on 2 or 3 die sets and you process much faster compared to any manual index turret press. Lee classic turret is still the best!!!

Best press for the avid hand gun ammo reloader. I use mine for 38 super, 40SW, 45ACP and 44mag. Great loading speed with auto-index. Doing 200 rounds an hour. No scattered spent primers - a miracle!! Nice thing also are the tool heads which are less than half the cost of other brands. I've got all my reloading die sets mounted on dedicated tool heads. No more fiddling with dies to get the sweet setting. Just mount the appropriate tool head and you're ready to load another caliber. After using this press a few days, I've decided to sell my old Lyman turret press. Lee is much, much better!!

Premium product at a low price. The class is at a level of Redding or RCBS but with better features - auto index, thru the ram disposal, lever prime system. I use mine particularly for 40 SW and swaging lead bullets. Output rate is about 200-250 rounds per hr depending on your pace. Nice thing is you can switch to batch loading by simply removing the indexing rod. Loading 3" long cases is also no problem. 5 stars is the minimum rating I'd give this machine.

I disagree with Steve T. of Memphis re lack of Customer service. I had a problem with no-Indexing on a nearly new press. The square ratchet inside the index bracket was not being held snug enough due to stripped left side of index bracket. Email to Lee explaining the problem and they promptly responded within 24 hours with return Email to advise they were shipping out new Index bracket and square ratchets.

I purchased this press to reload revolver ammunition. Since then I have successfully reloaded 357 Mag, 40 S&W, and 223 Rem. I find that I can reload approximately 100 rounds in 30 minutes once everything is setup. The quality of the ammunition produced is excellent. And, once you develop the proper reloading technique and cadence, the press is very easy to use. I would definitely purchase this press again and recommend it to others. I plan on purchasing additional turret heads to increase the number of calibers I reload on this press. Thanks Lee!

My 12 year old daughter loads her 357 rounds with it so how easy is that. Trust me its well worth the money, and you will have a lot of fun doing it. Have fun Jack Pierce Andrews North Carolina

If you are like me and are too picky and inexperienced to move on to a progressive but sick of single stage reloading, here is your answer. It won’t take the abuse that a single stage will take, but if you have reloaded on a single stage before, you should not have to abuse this. It does not look sturdy enough to reload steel cases but I like my dies the way they are now.

This is a great press that I bought to replace my RCBS RockChucker single stage press which is also excellent. Once setup this press delivers precise indexing and is sturdy and like all Lee products incorporates engineering that delivers value well beyond the price. My only advise to those contemplating a purchase of this press is to invest in a few of the little square Lee Classic 4 Hole Turret Press Indexing Ratchets. My press came with an extra one and I needed to use it as the one that was in the press became distorted during my initial setup. Once I installed the replacement the press indexed perfectly and I cranked out a 100 .44 mag rounds and a hundred .223 Rem rounds. The little square plastic indexing ratchet only costs $1.99 and it will probably pay to have a few extra on hand.

I also own a Lyman Turret press. The Lee is better than any of the others and the reason is quite simple. The pressure transmitted to the turret is borne by three steel posts. Others support the turret in the middle of the turret only. This invariably causes the turret to tilt slightly when put under too much pressure and the pressure become unevenly distributed. The only way to get past it is to bolt down the center nut on a center-bolted turret. That means that the other turret presses are just changeable "C" frame presses. I know...I've tried them. This one doesn't buckle under pressure. It's the only one that continues to work without leaning or giving way under pressure.

I have just started to shoot regular IPSC/USPSA/IDPA matches and bought this to handload "better than factory" ammunition. I have to say I have been extremely happy with the performance! While I cannot churn out 600 rounds in an hour like my friends with their Dillon 550's & 650's I can reliably produce @ 200-250 rounds in an hour which is plenty for me. I have run a couple thousand rounds of 9mm through it with zero issues! GREAT PRESS especially for under a hundred bucks!! Now if I could just find some more primers!!!!!

I didn't see how they could offer this press at this great price, when all the other turrets were so expensive. But I read the great reviews and took the plunge. Wow, great press. I love it, and have had zero problems after many rounds. One of my concerns was ease of switching from auto to single-stage because there are a few things I like to do batch style. No worries. It's extremely easy to switch. Just remove the twisted rod and you are working single-stage. You can still easily spin the disc by hand, so when you're working up a load and getting your dies set, this is the way to go. I hear a lot of people recommending new reloaders start with a single-stage press, but there is no reason to do that anymore. Buy this press, use it single-stage, and when you are ready, put the rod in and start using the turret feature.

I purchased this press because my four sons and I shoot a lot at our local shooting club. we reload everything from 32acp to 338mag with most being 223 rounds from our four AR-15 probably around 5000 rounds. the only problem we have had is the little black square at bottom of indexing shaft which wear out but lee is working on that. it has been flawless and I recommend this to any beginner as well as the to the pros. my sons started reloading two years ago and they are pumping out between 300 to 500 rounds of 9mm an hour and a little less or the 44's thru 45 colt. we in process of purchasing another one to use for reloading 223's exclusively.

Excellent press. What can you say that has not been said? I make the highest quality pistol ammo with this press that I have ever shot. I use it exclusively for my 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, 44 Rem Mag, and 223 Rem reloads. Highly recommend that you read the instructional videos on Lee's site before purchasing. Also read the two part article from Joe at "Real Guns" found on the Lee website under the Classic Turret Press link. He will tell you what you need. Things like the Auto Disc Pro, riser, etc. Lee also makes some of the finest dies I have ever used; and I have used them all. There is a little bit of a learning curve to get proficient with this press but if you put in the effort it will server you well for many years. I can easily crank out 175-200 rounds per hour and I inspect every round. Enjoy.

I am really excited about the press and I figure about 1200 rounds will be my breakeven point and from then on I will be saving money and that pleases me! Thank you to Lee for making quality products we can afford and rely on. I've owned all types of presses and have settled on this one as the perfect match of speed and control. While not as fast as the (Lee and Dillon) full progressive presses I've had, it will EASILY produce a box of 50 rounds every 15-20 min. That's enough for me ( and I suspect most other shooters too). Yet, the 4 stroke per round really gives you a sense of control and safety while loading. ( Fewer hiccups too!) Other benefits include simplified set-up and change over, best (anywhere!) primer catch system, improved/safer primer feed, and smooth solid operation. It's also nice that this one press will reload everything from 380 ACP to huge rifle cartridges without major cost or grief. This Classic Turret, (with a 4 die set and pro(!) powder measure is the end of the rainbow for me. This will be my last and all-time favorite press! p.s. Couple notes: -Don't forget to order the powder riser if you’re going to use the LSP. -Get the pro powder measure upgrade for smoother and leak free operation.

I purchased this press just to reload .45 Colt ammunition. After using the press, seeing how well it operated and the rate of production I added several other handgun and rifle cartridges. The addition of the Lee Auto Disk Powder Measure, Auto Disk Riser and Lee Safety Prime will increase productivity significantly. You should only use the Lee four die Deluxe Pistol Die set with carbide dies for this turret press and not the three die sets. I lubricate all moving parts of the powder measure, powder measure riser assembly and Lever Primer with graphite powder before each reloading session. I clean and lubricate the full length of the press ram with BreakFree CLP after each session and the two pivot points on the steel ram arm linkage with Rem Oil. As a result of this continuous maintenance the press operates perfectly and dispenses powder very accurately for every reloading session. Use of the Set Up and Operation Videos on Lee's website are mandatory for startup operation of this press. In addition, a great website with 53 close-up photographs and easy to understand, very detailed instructions at http://www.surplusrifle.com/reviews2006/leeturretpress/index.asp completely replaces the limited, Lee provided setup/operation instructions and will insure excellent reloading results with this very productive turret press.

This has got to be the best all around reloading press on the market today! If you are looking for a press that can do just about anything this is it. I recently got back in to reloading again after buying a new 45 ACP pistol. I figured I'd need a progressive press to feed the monster so I bought a Lee Pro 1000. My old single stage press wasn't gonna cut it. The Pro 1000 was a great press for what it is but it just didn't easily do all the things I wanted or needed. For one dedicated load it was great but I have a 38 special and a 357 magnum and I've also now added an SKS rifle to the mix. Changing calibers on the Pro isn't real easy so I started looking around for something different. I don't have a great deal of room in my reloading area either. I read the reviews on the Lee Classic and ordered one. All I can say is WOW! This press is a perfect balance between the automation of a Progressive and the simplicity of a single stage press. You have complete control over each step of the loading process like a single stage plus the automation of the auto indexing turret. With extra turret heads you can change to a different caliber in just minutes. It takes up little more space than a single stage yet you can load for any number of calibers with ease. Once you set up your dies in a turret you are done! No more screwing in the die, setting it, using it, unscrewing it and installing the next one over and over again. Just pop out the turret and pop in a new one. Change the shell plate and you are good to go for a different caliber! Awesome!! Each turret head, set up with dies, takes up little space when not in use. Add on the safety prime system and the auto disk powder measure system and it just flat out rocks! This is the way reloading should be. You can focus on the load you are working with and not spend your time worrying about a "press fart" on progressive press. I'm done with the "train wrecks"! This one is a life time keeper. The body is cast iron and the ram is HUGE! The ram is drilled all the way through and has a catch system for spent primers. No more dead primers all over the place! This press is perfect for someone who is just starting out or someone who has been at it for years. Most of us don't really need the high output of a progressive press anyway. This is one nice piece of equipment and you can't beat the price either. Thanks Lee

Lee nailed it with this one. I ran an old /standard Lee Turret for years and eventually upgraded. Now I'm back to a turret for better control and simpler priming operations. This Classic Turret is built SO MUCH better than either of those previous machines. Caliber changes are fast AND the primer system is much improved. (Especially nice since Federal Primers can now be used safely.) Instructions are terrible but Lee's website has very good demo's and FAQ.

I have reloaded hundreds of rounds through this press now and I love it! I have been reloading shotgun shells for years but this is my first metallic press. It took only a few minutes to setup which basically only included bolting it to the bench, putting the handle on, slipping the spent primmer tube on and the normal installation and adjustment of the dies. Super easy. I also purchased the LEE Pro Auto Disk Powder Measure and LEE Safety Prime. These two accessories make the reloading process a breeze. I would highly suggest using both of these accessories if you are going to use this press. The safety prime is as easy as something can be and the powder measure throws very consistent loads (I measured every 10 or so to double check). I decided to buy a turret press over a single stage because I am only reloading .45 ACP now and with a turret press I can avoid the “batch process” method. With the turret press I can reload as many or as few rounds as I want to or have time for. I don't have to worry about stopping in the middle somewhere, then picking up where I left off and potentially making a mistake. Great price and great product. I would recommend it to anyone.

This press is worth every dollar I paid for it, you can use it as a fully automated press or you can take the shaft off and use it as if it were 4 single stage presses in an assembly line. Changing calibers is easy just pop out the tool head and drop in another with whatever caliber you want to load next, once the dies are adjusted there is no need to mess with them again except to make fine adjustments for different bullet style. I can't honestly see using any other press unless there was a need to load thousands of rounds @ a time and if that happens I will get a progressive press! Lee nailed it with this one! Buy one, you won't regret it!!! Do not let the low cost fool you, more expensive presses are just more expensive not better! The end result is the same ...quality ammo at 1/2 the price of factory.

Wanted to post a follow-up review after operating with this press for over 3 1/2 months now. Have been loading 9mm, .40S&W, .380ACP, & 7MM Rem Mag. all accurately & without problems. Excellent. Recommend adding a few items that may not be clear up-front. The auto disk powder measure is a must for loading pistol cases. Also recommend using Lee die sets & getting the factory crimp dies. The powder measure riser attachment is a must & isn’t obvious until you get the unit setup & wished you had added clearance. Add to it the safety prime kit & once it’s all setup you can push out a pistol case in 30 seconds from start to finish at a moderate pace. Also recommend getting extra turrets with your die sets. I have 4 die sets & leave them calibrated on the shelf. No tools required to switch turrets & literally takes seconds. Install the correct shell holder & swap over the powder measure and you are on your way. Starting with a clean lubed case w/ spent primer still installed: 1st cycle is to deprime/size & at the top of that stroke insert a primer, bring the lever down & I remove the case to clean the primer pocket. Re-insert case and draw the ram all the way down seating the primer. Each retraction of the ram moves the turret to the next stage where a full extension of the ram will place powder in case as the 2nd cycle. 3rd cycle will seat the bullet & 4th cycle will run it thru full length die & perform crimp if desired. This entire process, with the added step of removing & cleaning the primer pocket takes 30 seconds each round. I recommend using a spray lube such as the Frankford Arsenal sold from Midway. Great product & goes far. Just setup all the cases open-mouth up on a piece of wood & a few sprays is all that needed. This press is excellent & while not a ' progressive ' press its semi-auto positioning is a night/day difference from those who (like me) grew up using a single stage press. Had one issue with the large primer arm somehow got nicked and wouldn’t properly actuate. I emailed Lee & without any issue the next business day they immediately shipped me out a replacement - was here before I knew it. Awesome product & the customer service @ Lee was top notch. Highly recommend.

Simple to set up and use. I have been using it for 45 colt cowboy loads and will soon purchase an extra turret and dies for 303 British. With the money saved I was able to buy good quality calipers and lots of accessories I am using the Lee Pro Powder Measure with it but I cannot say that I am impressed with its accuracy as I seem to be getting +/-.3 grains from one load to the next but that is no fault of this great sturdy press.

I've successfully loaded thousands of rounds with it, and have had no problems with it except for a minor primer feed issue, (just keep a few primers in the slot and you will not have an issue). Set up was straight forward. The ram and linkage are solid and smooth in operation. I've loaded 7.62x54R, 7.62X39, 303 British, 223 REM, 30-06, 308, 8x57 and many many more. Any indexing issue can be adjusted very quickly and easily by following the directions or on Lee's website. The Auto Index feature is great for loading quantities of rifle ammo. I can see that it would work as well for pistol ammo .. but I have a Lee Pro 1000 for that. If you are looking to update your single stage or if you are new to reloading this is the press for you. Easy to use, dependable and the price is right. It has replaced my Rock Chucker and Layman Turret Press. I Love IT! Thank you Lee.

Strong and Solid and after you go through the learning curve, you will love it. Do not buy the 3 die turrets for this press-they don't fit. Using the perfect powder measure make sure you attach the lever correctly-somewhat hard to do, or it just won't work. Using the discs is foolproof and they are on the money accurate. Double discs for larger cases- I now do all my 223 Rem. on this press. It has plenty of leverage for these cases. Sturdier looking than the other Lee Turret Press.

I don't foresee having any problems with it for the life of the unit. I would recommend this press to anyone. I have had this press for just under two years now. I've successfully loaded thousands of rounds with it. I love it. I can't imagine any other press, regardless of the price, being better than this one for its intended purpose. I have had a couple of problems with it, but because of overall performance and value, I still give it 5 stars. Like a few others here I also had a problem with the "auto index". After it working great for a few hundred rounds the indexing would go out of sync, not quite advancing the last 1/4" or so. I would readjust it and it would work for about three strokes. I could visibly see the top of the ram move a little, which also rotated the whole index assembly. After a few hours of watching and "playing" with it I decided to take the top piece off of the ram. I noticed there was a plastic sleeve thing inside the ram, which I assumed was to place friction on it to keep it from moving. I took that piece out and replaced it with an "O" ring. (I think it is an "O" ring from a LEE die nut.) I reassembled it and readjusted it again. It has been working perfectly ever since. It no longer moves out of sync. Because this was such an easy fix I would recommend this press to anyone.

It is easy to give the Lee Classic Turret Press 5 stars. I have been a hand loader for 39yrs. Used everything from hand dies to progressive presses . The Lee Classic Turret makes any other single stage and turret press obsolete. It even overlaps the territory of the progressive presses with the auto indexing of the turret head. It is quick and easy to use and gives the reloader full control of the reloading process. I can reload ammo to bench rest accuracy at a higher rate of speed. The construction of the press is simple, strong, and rugged. If John Moses Browning was to make a reloading press , this is what it would look like.

I posted earlier that I had issues. I may have broken the plastic pieces, so I order a few extra's. Now that I figured out how to use the press, it works very well. Myself and my son have loaded about 2500 rounds of varying calibers, it functions as adverstised. Priming works very well, it indexes very well, not a miss. I recommend that when you set up the dies, you remove the indexing rod. Set the dies and you are ready to go. When putting the indexing rod back in, make sure you feed it squarely into the square indexing piece and it insets on the bottom solidly. Do not force it. This solved my previous problem. I can now recommend this product. I still cannot rate 5 stars, the instructions are poor until you figure it out then it all sinks in. The one thing I do like with the turret is that I know if a primer is not seated and if powder is not there. You do need to keep it lubed and cleaned after use.

I'm new to reloading and was looking for an all-in-one solution for my apartment. The Lee Cast Turret Press fits the bill. I disabled the linkage and use it as a single stage press, I rotate it by hand when I want to switch to another die. Very easy. I don't do one round at a time, I do batches and check the powder levels before seating the bullets - safer that way. I couldn't imagine re-installing dies for each operation as is done on a single stage press. Mine are adjusted and that's it. Rip and go.

This is a really well constructed unit, and I've loaded about 7000 rounds of rifle and pistol ammo in five calibers using it. It simply performs as advertised and has held up extremely well. The convenience of the quick swapping of extra turrets is a huge benefit to this unit. The extra turrets are not expensive and ease the changeover between dies to simple swapping of the powder hopper/auto disc. Those seeking the ultimate in convenience would purchase a hopper/disc for each turret and then you could switch between calibers in mere seconds. That type of convenience is hard to beat at any price. My only gripe with this unit is that there is enough play in the turret under pressure (it rises up about 1/16 of an inch vs. its resting position, and doesn't remain entirely square) that I still use an O frame press for neck sizing when seeking tightest groups. Practice ammo, rifle or pistol, is this machine's strong suit. Highly recommended. Cranks out quality ammo at good pace, but still allows you to eyeball for problems along the way. The strong linkage retains the feel necessary for proper execution of each step of the reloading process.

First of all nothing is perfect. After reloading on an RCBS Rockchucker for over 10 years, this is the press I have been waiting for. It has the best features of single stage presses and none of the faults of progressive presses. I like the fact that you can stop at any point and check primer seat, powder level, cartridge length, and crimp. Once set up you can go as fast as you want as long as you watch your primer count and powder level. Having everything: priming, powder measure, and dies in the same location area is a big plus. Additionally it was easy to make adjustments to everything. Everything worked as advertised. According to the “modern reloading” book the safety aspect of lee products was overlooked by myself, but I am glad nothing happened prior to getting this press with all of the required pieces to load from start to finish. This is a solid sturdy press made of steel. No problems were noted with any of the parts after loading four boxes of 45 ACP. At this point this press with all of the accessories will replace my RCBS Rockchucker reloading kit as my primary reloading tool. I want to thank the staff at Lee because I really wanted the Loadmaster but they explained that unless I was shooting over 200 rounds daily a progressive was not necessary. That saved me money and gave me a press that I can check each and every process. I can't wait to start reloading 308 Winchester on this press. This is not a huge step up from the single stage press but certainly speeds up the process nicely. I didn't give this press 5 stars because nothing is perfect but this press is perfect for me and my reloading needs.

Like the other post, I am really impressed with this unit. I unpacked, mounted (Drill/tap my bench plate) installed Safety Prime and Pro Auto Disk, Installed dies and loaded 100 38 spl rounds in the first 1.5 hours of having this unit. Easy to operate, the safety prime unit takes some getting used to, but it works fairly well. Not as fast as my Hornady Lock-N-Load, but lots faster than the Rockchucker. I bought this press to do low volume accuracy rounds for rifle to replace the single stage but will be using it for a lot more.

\ bought this press two years ago and I am really happy with it. I reloaded thousands of rounds with it and the only spare part that I do recommend is extra index ratchets, I've had to replace only one thus far but I do keep five on hand just in case. The primer feed works great, it took a little time to get the correct "feel" for it but now it's priceless. I use my press to load .38 spl, .357 mag, .45 long colt and .38-40. Be sure and get the riser for the powder measure, you'll need that. I also have on hand an extra primer tray bracket as well, you just may bump into yours someday and break it off. The turret has a very simple feature to adjust the indexing if the need ever arises. All in all, it's a really great press.

This is a BEEFY, HEAVY press which is the strength equal of any of the blue or green machines. After I taught myself how to handload on the cheapie (but good) Lee Reloader single-stage, I bought this Classic Turret. Overall, I'm pleased with the press. It is super-sized and bull-strong everywhere except one spot. That would be the little plastic square used for auto-indexing. That little square can wear out kinda quickly if you're not careful with your auto-indexing motions. Fortunately, Lee includes a spare, but this piece should be stronger to begin with. This of course doesn't affect manual-indexing mode, for those who are accustomed to the Dillon 550B. Now, how does it load ammo? Very well, thank you. I do mostly .45 Colt with this press, and since it has four stations, I can conveniently use the Factory Crimp Die if I want to. The Safety Prime works reasonably well, and the Pro Auto Disk Powder Measure is *WONDERFUL*. If I didn't have an Auto Disk Powder Measure for use with this press, I'd have stuck with the $30 Lee Reloader. It just makes charging the cases go so much more easily, especially with any turret press. One last thing. When you fasten it to your bench, use 5/16" thick, 2" long wood screws. That's because the press's body is pretty doggone thick. I tried 1 1/2 inch bolts, and it works, but I'd feel more comfortable with slightly longer ones. Seriously, this press is pretty heavy, so you want to fasten it pretty well.

After being a single station reloader using the Lee Challenger Press for 20 years or more, I decided to upgrade recently to this press. I was impressed when I first opened the box to find such a sturdy and rugged press for the price. Although I'm just getting started with it, I can attest that it is considerably more efficient than the single station press I was using before, even with the handicaps stated below. The reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 (which the press alone really deserves) is because of the "surprises" you discover after you buy the press. For example, in order to fully utilize the speed of the system you must have Lee's powder charging system, which will only work with their powder charging dies, unless by some fluke a competitor's die happens to work. The heavy spring force of the powder charging system has a tendency to start the case mouth belling process well before it hits the stop sometimes causing an over-belling effect. Another thing is the auto-indexing system is made of plastic and looks like it will probably fail after a few thousand rounds which will force you to make periodic purchase replacements of that part from Lee for as long as you own/use this press. Another problem that I encountered that forces you to spend more money on Lee products is the locking rings for competitor's dies. None of the non-Lee dies I have will screw into the turret next to each other because the lock rings are too big in diameter which forces you to buy the Lee lock rings, which are a better design, but nonetheless another item you must buy. The auto-priming system works very well even though the mechanism is kind of flimsy. Only the last primer out of 100 would not feed onto the seater and I had to do a little coercing to get it out, but not bad. I like this system much better than the hand held priming systems from Lee and Hornady both of which I own and have used. The priming-thru-the ram is first rate with a solid feel and dovetails right into the speed and efficiency of using this system. One thing that I really like about this press is the thru-the-ram primer disposal. No muss, no fuss, no mess, they just empty into a clear plastic tube to be emptied whenever you decide.

For the money this press can't be beat. Been using mine for two years or so and have loaded thousands of rounds on it. This press can do 200 rounds an hour if you have the safety prime and auto disk powder measure. Get the powder measure riser to give you extra clearance. Extra turrets are nice if your loading multiple calibers. I usually operate it as a single stage for optimum accuracy, so its nice not having to change dies, just rotate the turret and do the next operation. I've loaded 38 spl, 357 mag, 44 mag, .223, 7.62x39, 7.62x54 and .308 without issue. I give this four stars for ease of use and value. Not 5 only because it is not the most precisely built press, of course its not $400+. Overall a vary good press for a beginner or experienced reloader.

I'd give this press a 5 star rating except I've had to fiddle with getting the auto-index to work properly. Otherwise it is an excellent press. Add the Lee Safety Prime and it really is nice and makes reloading go pretty quick. I'd highly suggest this press for handgun ammo over the Lee Pro 1000.

This is a great press as regards price and features, there is no question about that. Lee has everyone beat on that count. There is only one suggestion that I wish Lee would take into consideration: Produce better instructions!!! Their instructions are pitiful. Went to the Lee web site and it is helpful except for showing you how to put everything together, especially how the powder measure fits on the unit. Beginners need details on this stuff, and the Lee instruction sheets are dreadful. Anyway, great products for the price, if Midway could only keep dies in stock!!!

This is a good press except for the nylon linkage gear. Got the press to work and the gear was stripped. Have to call Lee for a replacement.
